Kevin Costner Betrayed Yellowstone Cast.. Here’s Why

  • It seems like Kevin Costner is about to end his Yellowstone journey soon, which is likely to end the series as a whole eventually. Even though this might be a wise decision for Costner himself, it is certainly a selfish one as the rest of the cast members are also being affected by his moves. In fact, some might even resent him for acting in such a way, since their career is being negatively impacted by the cancellation of the series. Would you define Costner’s move as a “selfish” one? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

They agreed to 10 episodes and Sheridan changed the number to 16 episodes. If Kevin honoured the 10 episodes he’s good and clear. Hope they work it out.

If Costner made a commitment to the show then he should honor it. If his contract is up and he wants out, by all means send him to the train station. Besides, you can still tell flashback stories about the Dutton patriarch by having Josh Lucas reprising his role.

Ned Stark was killed off on the last episode of the first season of Game of Thrones. That series was able to keep going and was great. Yellowstone can survive without Costner if the story telling and other characters are compelling.

Well saying none of the fans is false; I've been a fan of his since 1991 and a fan of the show since episode one and I'd still support him. Perhaps Sheridan's screwed up filming schedule has a part in this. Perhaps Kevin agreed to 65 consecutive filming days... Not a filming schedule split up in two different parts.

I don't believe it is easy for Costner to leave. He has a contract for 65 days of filming. They already used 50 or more for first part. Sheridan signed contract. He should have done first half filming in better timing. Sheridan has in my opinion made Yellowstone seem like he has no interest in it. He has too many irons in the fire. Don't blame Costner to want to work on his project. Seems Sheridan is doing his thing. I hate Costner leaving. I think both men need to compromise and and get the season shot. I don't think Yellowstone will be as good without Costner. Seems every time you love a series or show someone messes it up. I hope things work out. Don't kill off John Dutton. His character and Beth in my opinion make the show. I love it. I'm rewatching it all as I wait for the next part. Not sure how Costner leavi g will affect but if it follows other series. I won't be watching

    • @longhornjay
      @longhornjay Рік тому +1

Another great point, if the contract was for 65 days of filming onset for Costner originally meant to create 10 episodes then you can't realistically just add 6 more and expect to do them in two weeks of filming. Alot of ego flaring here, please come to a compromise like grown men and don' t punish the other actors (and fans) by warring over this.

I think Kevin Costner should be able to make decisions that he is comfortable with. It’s his life and if he wants to move on to do other projects he should be able to do that. They can still go on making new episodes of Yellowstone. They can write him out of the show having a recurring health issue he had in the earlier episodes. The other characters on the show are just as interesting as John Dutton/Kevin Costner. They can still have an interesting storyline.

Frankly, I believe many of your projections to be BS. Some perhaps plausible but as a whole…not so much. It’s reasonable that Costner, and no one else for that matter, could have predicted that Ystone would go to five seasons and essentially put Paramount on the map. As much as he may care for the others in the ensemble, and I choose to think he does care, at his age he could hardly be expected to put own his career on hold. So ends my BS projection.

Most bankable actors and actresses leave at some point during a show’s run. They want to do other things or other roles. Look at Grey’s Anatomy. Almost all of the original cast left (or got left) years ago.
Even if Costner stayed, sooner or later Cole, Kelly, and Luke would have left for greener pastures (pun intended).

Actors sometimes die, or merely move on. Shows sometime fail, get cancelled, or can last a many years. I wouldn't know what was said or expected upon the initial casting and contract(s) and commitments for the actor(s). Writer(s), if you need to kill-off or write-out a character, that's life and one option. What doesn't work for me is finding another actor to take the character's place, while looking and sounding completely different. Kevin C., if there are artistic/career opportunities to achieve in one's life-goals, by all means go for it. I wouldn't expect anybody to commit to a 19-year run as Ellen P. has done with Grey's Anatomy. Heck, I don't even like that show. On the other side, for some actors, it can be so hard to get cast anywhere, not to mention getting hired into a successful series (even though the seasonal episode count is relatively low, IMO. Hopefully, everybody involved is relatively financially comfortable at this point, which only leaves artistic/professional influences. There may be some personal/health reasons for some folks but I wouldn't know if anybody, Kevin C. or any other cast/crew member have those concerns. Stay healthy, someday retire, and try not to work until the final moment and die before one's ready unless you've got the proper warrior attitude (former ex-cop talking).

Costner has been transparent and been talking about this for 5 years. If Taylor Sheridan can screw Kevin Costner, he will do it to whomever he pleases. Costner has been very open about this process. Sheridan's favorite plot device in the Yellowstone Universe has been suicide. Just observe how many times characters have committed suicide or considered suicide in the Yellowstone Universe, including 1883 and aleady in 1923. Jamie Dutton considered suicide and was stopped by Costner - John Dutton. If Sheridan can be dishonest with Costner, none of the stars in the Yellowstone Universe is off limits.

It seems like there's alot going on between two very big egos here. If it's true Sheridan added 6 episodes then you kinda got to feel for Costner a little bit if he's trying to setup what will likely be the swan song of his career writing/producing/directing this set of movies. On the other hand, Costner does owe some duty to the rest of his cast as well and giving Sheridan one week to lineup and film all scenes Costner is in surely throws a huge monkey wrench in the current schedule. For everyone not named Sheridan or Costner it would be nice if they could find some middle ground. Sheridan may not 'need' Costner now, but he can't refute that Costner helped him immensely in getting to where he is now. Similarly, Cosnter needs to respect that Sheridan has gotten really huge and is responsible for a ton of other shows now and trying to hold him hostage with Yellowstone to make himself feel more important is not professional.

Is ruining the original Yellowstone series.a spinoff is fine all of ten episodes of each takes away. The show he should of started it the way it was in 1883 and continued with the lead up. To Yellowstone. If i were Kevin Costner.complete the series and stop making spinoffs. Very unfair to the other cast members to there parts .Yellowstone needs to go on with the whole cast. I believe what Taylor Sheridan has done is overkill with the runoffs complete them all. And stop taking away with the original story if Yellowstone.

Hi, Nexfilm and viewers..., I hope, wish, and pray..., that Kevin Costner does ( NOT ) leave the Yellowstone show or series ! ! Let's remember that "Yellowstone" is the Number 1 TV series for years, including Season 5. It would be a shame..., if Kevin Costner leaves the Number 1 TV Series and forthwith ruins the second part of "Yellowstone" Season 5 show and went into Season 6... It would be a ( big loss ) to the cast, crew, and loyal fans... "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana :)

Listen up Taylor! Your success was due in large part to a “Hollywood ICON” the reason millions of us return to watch this saga. You cannot replace him with a Matthew McConnaghey who does not possess even a small percentage of Costner’s drawing power. Face it Matt matters if he gets to take off his shirt and strut around. I like his movies but as replacement value 👎👎👎👎 he is not Costner quality. Whatever happened Taylor, please fix it… I’m sure Kevin is reasonable and could use a good and knowledgeable friend someone with compassion and understanding. I believe you both together are a dynamic duo and you both deserve outstanding success.

How does Costner think he is not valued? I for one love all the spin-off shows but I am highly invested in Yellowstone as well as his character of John Dutton. I think he is being a little selfish with his decision. At least finish out the rest of the season if nothing else.

Let him die off like a cowboy should leaving a cliff hanger on who will take over the ranch and show what happens when the patriarch of the family passes. While we have seen different heads of the family we don’t see the family struggle with the loss would make a great season seeing them fight to keep it with the loss of John
