      Game dev here. 3D modelling can be a ton of fun. I recommend starting with blender and doing the classic teacup, the a glass bowl with cloth. Then if you're feeling ambitious try modelling an anime character (while following a tutorial of course) if you really throw yourself into it you can do that in a week.

    • @AubreyMK
      @AubreyMK 4 роки тому +115

      @@majorfunky6586 yeah in the VRChat community people basically commission people to do research to find a model of a character they want, some do it from semi scratch for like OC but if there is something they will need to do themselves it would cost more, sadly alot of it is overpriced and you would get scammed, especially if you dont know anything about it. VRC is kinda the reason I learned a little bit of blender, I wish I knew what tools she was using in the video all I know is how to do things manually edge by edge, face by face, bone by bone, weight for each bone, because I would fix up models in blender so thats all I really needed.

      It says it took 48 hours to do it. Taking into consideration the quality of the work, I'd imagine the price of this person's time is somewhere between 20 and 40 dollars per hour. So I'd guess the price range is between $1000 and $2000, assuming this wasn't something like a collaboration between friends or part of a project they are making together.

    "I wish I had that talent", is a comment I see a hell of a lot of on creative videos, and it's honestly a little bit annoying.
    Most the people that leave those comments show no actual interest in wanting to be as good as the people in the video, such as Shonzo is in this video, instead they wish that they could instantly get all the knowledge of the person they're watching without having to put the time and effort in to practice. The truth of it all is that no one instantly just is good at something, they spent time working on improving themselves. Even professionals find new things they didn't know about from time to time. If you want to be good at the drawing, so you can sketch your OC, then you practice, you learn, you develop that skill to draw. If you want the skill to work with colours (which is very different than just colouring), shading, colouring, then you learn and you study and find what works well with what. If you want the skill to model, then you spend time working from the ground up to model a cube, a cup, a bottle, and so on.
    I can promise you, Shonzo didn't sit at a computer one day and suddenly have the ability to make a VTuber like the one you see on the screen... And neither did anyone else. Practice, learn, and you can get there, I promise you that you can do it if you're dedicated to it, and if you're really wanting to... Life ain't easy, not everyone that starts learning will get through it, but the people that you see on UA-cam now, not a single one of them didn't "start."

      @@Monglomon
      You don't need 2-5 hours, and it's not going to take 20 years.
      Dedication to learning is important, yes, but if you give up so easily then you'll never learn anything new. You could put anything from 5 minutes to a full day into practicing, or watching lessons, you don't even need to do that day-after-day.
      I work a 9-5, have a 2 hour bus journey to and from work, and live by myself so have to make my own food... But I still teach myself new things... I've learned programming languages, art programs, actual languages, and most of the time it's been using what free time I have. Those 13 hours of work and travel time, plus 8 hours for sleep, gave me 3 hours a work-day. Maybe some days I'd visit family, some days I'd baby sit my niece, some days I'd study for University, but I'd still use some days to load up Blender, and kick through a tutorial for 30 minutes.
      You can learn while still having a life- it's really not that difficult. You're adding your own obsticles, and making it sound over complicated in your own head. AND, if you aren't even going to bother learning- don't be one of those people that goes to a comment section to talk about how terrible you are and how you wish you had that talent, and all that other stuff I mentioned in my original comment.

    Cute and realy good model also cool video edit 'shonzoHeart' , I'm glad I was at creation.
    But I need more. Unexpectedly ended for me, want to see rigging and demonstration in motion, like MMD dance, SUVA, beat saber or from live stream Yuniiho
    . Not that I would not see 'shonzoNya', but would look again.

    • @Cybug_K423

      I didn't know there was people who wanted to see the rigging part, about the demonstration, we are on it but still experimenting.

    • @ichise5555
      @ichise5555 4 роки тому

      If demonstrated in motion, then rigging is an important part of this, as part of the "animation" and as well emotions made through shape keys.

      @@Shonzo Do any of the videos include a good explanation when it comes to painting shading? That's the thing I have the most trouble wrapping my head around and you seem to have a good grasp of it. I have a lot of trouble trying to discern which shading should and shouldn't be painted into the texture. For example, this character has shading on the back of her shoes, so if she were to bend her knee, it would look like there was a light source pointing upward at her shoes specifically (especially if it were to interact with a simple light source). I can't comprehend what the "rules" are when it comes to painting textures on things that are going to be moving and aren't going to have a specific light direction at all times and it really holds my models back.

    • @Shonzo
      @Shonzo  4 роки тому +6

      @@nonenone4560 usually u kinda make your own rules in this case, and so called "rules" change depending on the style you going with
