He died before I was born and once I found out about him and talked about him to my parents I was amazed they didn’t know any of his song’s or that he had even passed. He’s one of the greatest artists and he doesn’t even get the notice he deserves. I’m hoping as time passes people notice his beauty more and more. I can’t imagine how it would be to see him in concert.
Yes, one of the greatest tragedies in this world is that not every single human being has had the opportunity to hear his angelic, transcendent music. I wouldnt even call him a once in a generation talent because, to me at least, he was so far beyond even that. Probably the greatest musician to ever grace this planet with his presence. My mind is blown and my heart is both filled and broken everytime I hear him sing. Not too mention his insanely creative and wonderful guitar work.
My experience was the same as yours. Some people just don't explore music the same as others, it seems; never taking the time to dive under the surface. But some will seek, get entranced by beauty and ahem, Grace, in music whether their environment encourages them or not. I was obsessed with music from early on but my parents weren't so tuned in but my mom and sister have turned around to appreciating Jeff's music since I've played and listened to it so much, especially because he died so soon. Maybe that's our responsibility in return for getting to enjoy his music. Carry it on with us, keep it alive.
my experience was opposite to yours. my mom has been playing his grace album again and again since I was a little (I was born after he died too) but I couldn't understand his music until I have listened to it from my earphones lol
I was running a record store when Jeff broke on a label. I had goosebumps and cried the first time a I heard Grace. He was part of my soul from that moment. When he went missing, one of the top Sony guys would fax me every morning with the latest news on the search. I had a dream the night before he was found that I was underwater and he was in front of me, looking so peaceful. his hand was caught in branches and as I moved closer the skin let go and he drifted like an angel to the surface. When I got to work that morning there was a fax stating that he had been found. Devastating to lose such a truly kind and extraordinary talent. Rest in Power and Beauty, Jeff 🌹
I cant even imagine how intimidating it must have been to play with such an absolute virtuoso. Jeff transcends music into something divine, or whatever you want to call it. Words can't even describe what he was and what he gave the world. Its a shame so many have never even experienced his music/magic.
Absolutely....a rare talent , some of his songs make my cry... any musician that hits you right in the heart.. is a true composer... musician... and he delves into so many dimensions with his musical talent. Rip Jeff Buckley we love you
There never was and there never will be anyone like him. A shooting star of the brightest magnitude. I'm in awe of this performance. He was too real for this world.

Seeing him live, nothing short of a religious experience. I consider myself blessed to witness this once in a lifetime experience. We were robbed of so much when passed.
My mum always played hallelujah Jeff buckleys version when I was little I grew up with his voice and I had no idea he passed away till I was about 12 and it broke me ever since then I dug deeper into his music and he is the most beautiful most genuine soul, he writes the most heart wrenchingly beautiful lyrics, I’m so surprised that not many people know of him
I remember the first time i heard so real , I just moved to Houston 1994 , I had Mtv on unpacking boxes. I remember thinking at the time , well thats different! I loved it. He was the same age as me, I love my generation, i resonate with his music more today than ever.
I have listened to so much music, but I find myself returning to Jeff again, and again. Grace will never tire me, maybe my favorite album of all time. His musicality never ceases to inspire me.
Losing Jeff was and still is the cruellest and most significant loss in music history. But we have this magnificent recording of his otherworldly ability and emotive resonance to enjoy forever. I love you Jeff x
A common lament. However, I think he gave his all in his short time blessing the world with his music, and had nothing left to give so he returned to where he came from. At least, thats the best way to think about it without breaking one's own heart.
J'y étais, Jeff était arrivé 2h en retard, concert incroyable, à la fin,une fois le concert terminé, on s'est tous retrouvé rue François 1er, personne ne parlait, un silence surréaliste, waouuhh
One of the best live sets you could see of Jeff and the Band. I followed them from bars to record releases at CbGB,s! The band, was brilliant. These guys as a band was tight!

SO sweet
Uh huh...
Jeff was great. But so was his band. The dynamics of the music is a model for contemporary musicians.
I cant even imagine how intimidating it must have been to play with such an absolute virtuoso. Jeff transcends music into something divine, or whatever you want to call it. Words can't even describe what he was and what he gave the world. Its a shame so many have never even experienced his music/magic.
Yah I’d say Matt’s drumming was crafted for his style of rock. No one could ever play it any better.
I have some strange connection with him and his music, it calms me down and makes me feel less alone. Love him very much
We all do my friend. Anyone with a heart or soul connects deeply with Jeff's music. He was simply sublime.
Right there with you. It's mystical, personal and as real as real can be.
Same. Feel the same way about Nick Drake, the English folk legend.
" Music is your only special friend " Jim Morrison.
