Recorded at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, on 19 May 1995. This is a shortened set, as Jeff was opening for Juliana Hatfield.
I originally uploaded this concert in 2017, however, that was from a third generation source, I believe. This is a copy from the original master tape.

I love the way he tells the audience to shut the fuck up… Complete Legend
And they did for a moment.
Only narcissists are concerned with "legend" and "legacy". Way to out yourself.
Ça me rassure de voir que des gens pouvaient ne pas aimer sa musique alors qu’elle est juste géniale. Car ces derniers temps j’ai remarqué que le talent, l’audace, l’inventivité n’intéressait pas la majorité du public.
The absolute balls it took to sing “That’s All I Ask” a capella in front of THAT ridiculous crowd is one of many reasons why I admire him so much. He spoke and sang his truth fearlessly.
I'm with you. Agree 110%
I was in that crowd. We had no idea the greatness we were witnessing. God bless you, Jeff Buckley
@@NicholasDeanna-xp7ot I'm not saying you were a culprit, but it's disgrace that the crowd continued with their infuriating, inane and disrespectful noise, even after being told by this musical wonder to "Shut the fuck up!" Pearls before swine. 🤬
@@NicholasDeanna-xp7otwhere you part of those annoying people?
2:16 "Shut the fuck up!" I get him
Saw him 2 days earlier in Connecticut. It was magical.
@paulfisk Jeff was in New Haven, Connecticut, two days earlier. He was in Boston at the end of May.
I listen to jeff's music a lot, but when I hear something new from him, it's totally incredible and it never ceases to amaze me.
thank you for this
Jeff Buckley is EVERYTHING!!! So much talent. I wish he was still here!
Holy shit! the guitar on the WWYS is insane!!
Like FATHER like SON! I am blessed to have seen both first hand
i'm in love with jeff buckley since i've met his music
He had heart .
A tortured genius, who somehow never resolved his demons. He was private & introspective, only he knew who they were. 😮
Too beautiful. Too pure. This fucking world. Sorry, Jeff. You were too angelic.
I was at this show! Man, Jeff and Juliana were the best back in 95!
I was there too SPDrury
the most powerfull version of "kick out the jams" ever made. awesome
🔥 show
Our Buckley...only he can give us goosebumps, bring us to tears, reach our heart, penetrate into the depths of our soul💜Jeff, you were really "a pure drop in an ocean of noise"...what will I say...I'm not afraid:"I L♥️VE You!🎵🎶🎙🎸
Incredible performance and better than the live in Chicago DVD!
I HAVE THIS CONCERT TOO. GIRL SCREAM AHH;HHHHHHH 😄❤❤❤❤💋💋💋
Man, that drunken girl in the crowd epitomizes the 'I'm a nobody, so I'll throw all my toys out the buggy until people come and pamper me' vibe...
Please. She was as charming as they come.
49:46 watching for all the Sony and Columbia record execs who got annoyed that he wasn't selling his product well whenever he covered "Kangaroo" and they would send all these complaint e-mails. I think this particular version comes from a very raw place and I like it.
Did you know Jeff?
@@MojoPin1983 No. But I read that in the book.
I was at this show. Such a long time ago. Thanks for posting it.
@Tracy Fritz Were you the screamer? ;-)
@@MojoPin1983 No! I was 17 at the time , and I remember being so embarrassed when she wouldn’t stop-even when he asked her to several times. Who does that?
@@tracyfritz5579 ah, "our time" - I was 22. I'm not a sad, washed up old man. But every now and again....boy do I miss Providence circa 1990- 2000. So sad I missed this one. Lucky you!
How did I feel like watching him singing in front of you!??? I would die to see him for a second, you’re so lucky
@@joelhague5515 To be truthful Providence from about 1984-1994 were some incredible times. I was more of a Living Room guy than a Lupos guy though.
Legend!
last goodbye omfg
44:56-45:03 i lub him
You're doing the Lords work 🙏
Maybe "the Lord" could solve some real problems like, I don't know...pick one...
...human trafficking
...child predation
...poverty
...homelessness
...child neglect/abuse
...and maybe stop creating psychopaths, sociopaths, malignant narcissists and narcissists
You know, real problems?

THANK YOU MOJOPIN1983!!!!
LOVE YOU SO!!!
THIS IS A GEM
Thanks so much for this! I love being able to see his concerts like this through your generosity. For the longest time I just had my Live in Chicago videocassette, and finding your channel here just a couple years ago has really filled me in on so much of what I've missed.
You’re welcome, Krista. Glad that my channel has enlightened you. God bless.
@@MojoPin1983 enlightening us
Thank you so so much
He was electric. The switch between chocolate and kick out the jams is amazing. I’d do anything to see them live!
Respect for posting these!
I can't believe you have this. "My era" - college 1992 -1997 (5 year plan, lol), did not see this show, but saw A LOT of good music at that very venue, highlights being Morphine (Cure for Pain, Yes), Reverend Horton Heat, my God, so many other bands. I'm a lucky man, and I have a great life now all these years later, but every now and again what I wouldn't give to go back to say 1994 for just a couple of days. Beck was $10 at Lupo's, I'm not lying. Then Odelay became "Holy Shit!" huge, and yeah, you weren't seeing Beck for $10 anymore! Same goes for.the 1st Foo Fighters tour, it wasn't even big enough for Lupos, it was at the Met Cafe. Dave Grohl and the band literally came into audience and hung out post show. Like 1 year later...forget about it!
UAU, made years today, Jeff plays, 26 years ago, at 5/19/1995, UAU!!!!🙏👣
Jeff was 30 when he died.
I love it omg

I LOVE YOU SWEET MAN
Thanks.
Thank you for sharing, I really treasure It.
Thank you. Sweet sadness.
Thank you for uploading this version.
Awesome Set From Jeff ! Brief but brilliant. 👏
Wow! Ele realmente odiava quando o público reagia a presença dele. Se estivesse vivo, sinto que ele detestaria fazer shows no Brasil, aqui todos cantam junto com o cantor e vibram com a música. 😅
I don’t think he would’ve hated it in Brazil.
In Brazil the audience/concert goers sing the songs word for word and in sync with each other and with the artist/band.
Those annoying people yelling, screaming, laughing , whistling and whooooing! Are pretty annoying. It isn’t annoying all the time but idk this crowd was.
So when he said “Shut the FUCK UP” he was speaking on behalf of everyone else there and those of us who are watching this recording. Thank you JEFF
I think I've never seen this one before, thank you so much, means a lot to me
❤❤❤
thank you for uploading this.
can anyone transcribe what jeff says 53:46-56:40
"with your sexy black dress". common line he'd insert into the outro of kanga-roo
Thank you !
Thank you, so much 💚🤘

My lord the girls screaming is ridiculous! I would be rather pissed off to be there and have to listen to their crap. How rude....
Tell me about it. That reminds me of when I was a grocery clerk, and the groupies that used to hang around the buggy coral, hollering at me, when I went to collect carts to bring inside the store.
2:16 Jeff gave his opinion on those girls
Lord, I have never seen such a raucous crowd for him at any show I have watched or listened to Wow! Usually you can hear a pin drop while he sings. He was a bit more animated I guess due to this. But these girls were too damn much! Its hilarious that he told them to shiit the fuck up! LMAO!
@@MojoPin1983what?! Lol

The screaming girls hahaha
Is this the show where Jeff threw himself on the drum kit at the end of Juliana’s set then jumped into the crowd?
@Gramsgirl1963 No. That was nine days later, in Boston.
22:05. --- 23:20: his guitar sounds like his voice yet he is not singing
How can Jeff do the background sound on Chocolate, it's his guitar or a synth?
@J M He is using a heavy dose of an effect called reverb, mixed with some delay. Said effect is created by an effects unit that he used called Alesis Quadraverb. There is no synth involved. Jeff’s guitar wad hooked up to his Quadraverb, which ran through his amplifier.
Please tell me where i can find his live performance of radio heads creep
@hollyhayes4626 He never covered it.
my god the screaming girl was annoying, ruining the good parts of the show and pissing off a lot of people.
WHOA...did he really just tell them to "SHUT THE FUCK UP"? Yikes...I mean, I get wanting people to listen, and most times people did get quiet when he started playing, but that was unnecessarily rude.
He definitely executed this performance, but it did not seem like he enjoyed this until he was almost done. Must be really hard to perform on some nights when you just don't feel quite up to it.
@le th He said that specifically to that screaming girl(s), because she wouldn’t stop, which must have been incredibly annoying and distracting.
Exactly.
he doesnt usually do stuff like that so that tells me he had a reason for it lol
He is not used to crazy little girls screaming their heads off. His shows were usually so quiet while he sang that you could hear a pin drop. He strikes me as the type artist that goes into a “zone” in his mind during performing, It probably distracted him… taking him out of his headspace. I dont think he meant to be cruel, it just wasn't his scene.
He's not rude. That screaming annoying AF girl is rude.
