Burn damage will always be an interesting mechanic to me , love seeing absurd setups just to FTK people.
3 Blaze Phoenix, One Wind witch Crystal Bell, Telekinetic Charging Cell, Reprodocus, Cyber-Stein…A spicy FTK every time.
Yeah, but you wont like getting absurdly FTKed yourself

Top 10 cards with great effects that aren’t worth the drawbacks.
As a duel links player, the first one that comes to mind is white veil.
Most instant win effects
Sophia comes to mind. 1 ritual, fusion, synchro and xyz to summon, cant be negated, banishes hand, GY and everything else on the field. I tried to make this work with Gren Maju but it's just too much, it's hard to streamline a deck that has to play 4 diff summoning mechanics.
@@bbrodriguez420 Maybe a Relinquished deck combined with Fables and Skull Servants running Baby Tiragon might work, maybe with some Prank Kids or Thunder Dragons splashed in for consistency.
Relinquished and Prank Kids for the fusion, since you can use Instant Fusion for consistency. Fables for the synchro. Skull Servants for xyz. Skull Servants and Relinquished would work well for the ritual summon.
@@qty1315 don't forget to add 3 copies of Dogu, Single Purchase and Left Arm Offering for even more consistency. Edit: also, you NEED to play 41 cards with 1 upstart goblin
I remember when Dark strike fighter struck fear into everyone’s heart with burn effect
As someone Who abused It i admit i was a scumbag lol
When Independent Nightingale is TENTH on the list, that gets you thinking about just how powerful some burn cards can be (although I'm guessing it was so low only because the burn damage part of its effect wasn't really the main reason it was so good.).
Only reason Nightingale is 10th is because its Effect is rarely used by *itself*. As pointed out in the Video, the real draw is copying it by something else.
Yeah it’s mainly good because of one specific level 10 reptile type monster
@@dr.soulja2123 And one specific Level 8 dragon type monster
The effect was very good but it was bonus
The card was never a problem. The problem was that better stuff could get its effects and use them to greater effect
Magical explosion and life equalizer being outright banned in the OCG could be because they have upstart and chicken game (and I suppose into the void) unlimited, which are the easiest way to abuse those two cards.
Yes, Konami's responses to the Magical Chicken FTK were:
OCG: Life Equalizer + Magical Explosion is the best Chicken Game FTK, let's ban Equalizer to kill it
TCG: Chicken Game gives too much draw power, it has potential for all sorts of FTK strategies, let's ban it
@@gargravarr2 Seeing as Chicken Game is barely used nowadays in the OCG, their thought process clearly worked, so... not sure what you're getting at lol
@@catisreckless4647 the ocg method will likely result in other things banned over time bc of chicken game interactions while the tcg actually addressed the true problem card
Woah, I never looked at Magical Explosion closely, despite using it in ftk decks online. I always thought the art was of a cannon, like some of the other burn cards. It's just an Old Vindictive Magician o__O
It's an older Megumin.

“Dark snake syndrome” during your standby phase it deals damage to you and your opponent x200 (then doubles every turn) 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400.... 12800. You just need a way like “des wombat” or something to protect/heal your LP
Mystic wok on metal reflect slime for 3000 lp gain. I made a couple different Dark snake syndrome decks back in the day, fun and hilarious strategy if your opponent can't immediately respond to it.
Combining it with dark room of nightmare to just make the burn on your enemy outpace your own loss of lp used to be decent.

Well if that type of card exist of course
Yeah, but have you ever dealt 50 pts of dmg in duelist of the roses from sparks?
Correct me if im wrong but im like 90% sure that was a thing.
I loved how busted that game was. Like how riryoku took HALF YOUR OPPONENT'S LP and used it to give a PERMANENT atk buff to your monster. I think that was one of the cards that was unobtainable in the player's deck, but still ridiculous. Then you have sparks with 50 dmg lol
and Fire Reaper was the mon version of that
Yep; in early Yugioh games, a lot of the burn cards were nerfed for some reason, so Sparks doing 50 damage was in several. It was also in Forbidden Memories as well, for example.
Injection Fairy Lily: Let me heal those 50LP.
@@sirswagabadha4896 Yeah one of the 45 unobtainable cards. Although a majority of those cards were transformation bases such as "Larvae of Moth/Pupa of Moth" Ritual monsters such as "Cosmo Queen or Mask of Light & Dark" or Fusion cards such as "Crimson Sunbird or Nekogal #2".
Others on the unobtainable list were things which were Destiny Draw exclusives such as Arsenal Bug or Woodland Sprite. You could techincally use Riryoku with an effect that brought back Spell cards from the grave or if the opponent lacked any monsters in hand and thus set Riryoku instead of equipping it.
My personal favorite is Gravedigger Trap Hole!
In a Traptrix or Altergeist deck it’s even better than called by the grave!
I thought for sure pre-errata Dark Strike Fighter would get a mention. That card was literally format defining.
I was very impressed with your animated transitions, great job!
Happy holidays! Thank you so much for teaching us all and providing entertainment about yugioh!
CED looking at this list with a tear in its eye, remembering the glory days.
not gonna lie, your videos have gotten me back into yugioh after 5ish years, onto my 10th video of yours. Merry Christmas!!
Neat video! Thanks for uploading!
The true list I'm looking for.

Life Equalizer is one of my favorite cards in Tag Format. It is so easy to FTK with it.
I just want to say Merry Christmas !
Secret barrel was THE REAL GOD when I was a kid. X3 in every deck
and ring of destruction
I have that thing somewhere. I loved it, and it came with a just desserts too.
@@MercuryA2000 Back in the day I created a deck with one of my favourite friend (still today) based on burn damage. X3 secret Barrel, X3 Des Koala, every sort of magic card that did damage (Ookazii, Wave motion cannon), marshmallows. We were hated by all of the kids of the school ahahahaa (jk obviously)
@@cristianorossi8622 I didn't even go full burn. It was another kid who had the stupid marshmallow of stalling.
Back then I had a warrior mishmash. It... Wasn't good. At all. Then I found my cousins old blue eyes and swapped over to a dragon deck.
A friend hated me cause I managed to black rose him like 3 times in one duel. I only had... 2 I think. Might have been one, but I recycled it.
Way to change it up! I nevered subed but I still have seen just about every video starting with the one for armed dragon catapult cannon gimmick deck
Why would u not sub?

But in all seriousness these top tens have been keeping me at least somewhat sane this year. thanks
Hey, love our YGO and WOW videos! ;) Could you please make a video about TOP 5-10 OTK decks (if you dont have any yet)? :P
Hiru I can't watch 2 videos at the same time!! Just got both of your notifications lol
I used to love using Chain Energy in burn decks, fun little card
I know these are not the best ones, but i'd loved an honorable mention to Lava Golem and gagaga Cowboy for their importance as Burn Damage Dealers in yugioh history c:
Suggesting this for a year and a half finally paid off and I'm happy it did. What's funny is that there's maybe two cards here that I expected to be on the list.
@TheDuelingLog You forget the Berseker soul, thanks to your video top 10 ridiculous activating i manage to build that deck 👍👍🙏🏼
#1 Chain Energy. I use a burn deck and this is the most under appreciated card out there.
Why? Most players don't have cards that will remove a spell right away. Your opponent will usually need to play 'at least' 4 cards for them to start actually doing anything that these current decks actually do. This means an easy 2k.
Chain Energy is king
Back in the day when the format was just Battle City era rules I had a crafty stall deck before I even knew what it was called. It was a stall burn deck that I didn't realize that had also like 13 different strategies you could employ but it was all difficult to do any of them because you could easily brick really hardcore since there was no real archtype engine at the time to search/ mill your deck for what you needed.
Anyways back then before anyone really knew what it was, I'd throw down my Wave-Motion Cannon and just forget about it for (x) amount of turns but I'd keep track of how many of my standby phases passed. It would ultimately be my trump card if some things didn't work out. My main method of how I'd want the duel to go was a combination of using Umi or Legendary Ocean + Tornado Wall + Gravity Bind + Mask of Restrict + Mucus Yolk, as the point of this was to annoy the hell out of my opponent to not be able to do anything since most people would tend to fill their deck with pork LvL 4+ monsters, and Mucus Yolk could attack their LP directly and increase its ATK by 1k per turn if it deals damage (if its ATK is ever reduced back to zero for some reason by a card effect you'd have to start all over again). This method was designed with the intent to force my opponent into using their best spell cards to get rid of them, while my true intent was to build up cards in my hand to do the next thing.
The next thing would be a combination of the Eye of Truth + Bad Reaction to Simochi, and of course, Wave-Motion Cannon.
But by then the duel would normally be over unless I felt like stalling it a little more. The main point of forcing my opponent to use up their best cards to end my stalling, is to bust out my Buster Blader & boss monster(s) Dark Paladin/ etc. Normally around then at least 15+ standby phases had passed and people still forgot that I had Wave-Motion Cannon in play and no matter what it'd be an OTK.
edit: Oh and also, I forget what the card was but before I traded it away for a Tyrant Dragon, I had a card that could skip my opponents next turn to bring me back to a Main Phase 1, this worked out really well for my Wave-Motion Cannon.
Great video again!
This remember me of one of my favorite archetypes Iron Chain!
I know the game’s moved on from the very old days, but I sure miss solar flare dragon/stall combos
A neighbor made a deck in of the Game Boy games YOU WON WITH ANY STARTING HAND
Those were fun times!
No Dark Strike Fighter mention? Was it just because of the errata because historically it was definitely the single most problematic burn card
I am confused as well. It should be number 1.
Another burn FTK you could mention was the Slash Draw one which used Dangers and Saryuja to organize your deck in a way you could accomplish it easily. Because you could summon Dangers with ease and they allow you to draw cards, the engine was super consistent and allow you to fill the field with at least 4 cards, meaning 8k of damage in one hit
I'm glad that Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale finally gets a top-ten spot in this channel.
As for a new video idea, how about "Top 10 Worst Cards That Use Spell Counters in YuGiOh"?
The Gem-Knight FTK was live in Duel Links for a little while as well, and Lapis Lazuli is currently Limited to 1 over there.
You forgot the Red Eyes Dark Dragun
I would like to see a list of cards used in reaction to opponent's battle, such as Magic Cylinder, Mirror Force ect. If you have enough cards to separate them into the two categories of inflicting damage compared to negating the attack or destroying the opponent's monsters, then all the better! Thanks for asking for suggestions, and considering them
Top 10 cards to play alongside "Bad Reaction to Simochi"?
The Eye of Truth is the one I can think of.
Mooyan Curry 10/10
Gift card, easy.
Snatch Steal is one of the best.
Using it against a sicko that plays Aromages to really kick him in the balls
You could use chain strike with decks like counter fairies that have a lot of trigger effects that go off after a counter trap resolves, or with cards that gain spell counters from only normal spells
Blaze fenix was that first viable deck I made love it.
Ookazi: just the best burn card ever
I remember my friends malding when I played triple D.D. Dynamite and a bunch of other burning spells combined with the first Caius deck and 3x soul release
Blaze Phoenix was always my MVP
how about making a top 10 cards for each arctype? Maybe you could explain the best combos available in each of them, I'd love to see a video specialized on shaddolls
I was expecting Gagaga Cowboy and Gustav Max to show up. Both are commonly used finishers for when you come just short of an OTK.
Ah yes, I’d almost forgotten. That brilliant decision to limit Master Diamond instead of just banning the actual problem card, Lady Lapis, who barely even fits the Gem Knight archetype in the first place
All this, and NO Solar Flare Dragon? That was my go-to monster back in the days when I still played the game when I attended tournaments at a hobby shop. Solar Flare Dragon is a level 4 Pyro type, Fire Attribute, monster that had two effects. One of which was a burn effect. The burn effect deals 500 points of damage during each player's End Phase. Its other effect was being able to be protected from attacks if there was another Pyro type monster on the field. Put two Solar Flare Dragons on the field and you had a very solid line of defense for your Life Points that ALSO deals damage. I know it's a bit dated these days, but it helped me last in duels. If you had three of them out and SOMEHOW your opponent had no monsters out with the Molten Destruction field spell active, you could end it in just one full turn. Molten Destruction boosts Fire attribute monster's attack points by 500 but take away 400 defense points. Solar Flare Dragon has a base attack power of 1500. The aforementioned field spell would boost the mentioned monster's attack to 2000, allowing you to cut your opponent's life points down to size. Then the burn effect from ending your own turn and then again with your opponent if they had no way to disarm the effect. Of course, that'd be the BEST case scenario.
Magical explosion. I do miss you
Magical explosion + Full slavo in my spellcaster deck was way too fun.
For some reason, I was having too much fun in repeating "... the Burning Bombardment Bird" 3:38
he does have a fun way of saying that, lol
Alliteration Son!
XD
this just throws me back to my 2006 Solar Flare Dragon burn deck
I'm very surprised "Dark Room of Nightmare" isn't in this video. It really multiples all the card effect damage and does a secondary burn attack for every burn dmg you do. A hugeee chain of burns.
Im subscribed for one reason, and thats bcs i like ur voice

Blaze Phoenix is my deck boss, love that burning bird
I was thinking Nurse Ridicule or Bad reaction should be on here. The effect literally turns any effect to give your opponent LP into burn effects. Not only dose that lead to OTK starts (using cards like Gift Card), but it can also turn your opponent's cards against them in case they play LP recovery cards (like an Aromage deck or any Banish deck with Soul Absorption out).
Merry Christmas DuelLogs!
7:00 I'm not an expert in gem-knights or gem-knight ftk. But personally i would consider the Gem-Knight link-2 (Phantom Quartz) a WAY better way to loop Master Diamond, since the link-2's first effect allows you to search a card on summon, and most importantly, it's second effect allows you to return resources from the banished zone (i think) and GY to the deck in order to perform a fusion summon, which means you can burn with lazuli, summon master diamond to burn again and make the link-2 using master diamond and another monster, then you proceed to return master diamond and other gem-knights to the deck in order to summon Lady Brilliant Diamond using Phantom Quartz's effect, which can then summon Master Diamond with no additional effort and burn once again (which is most likely 8000 points of damage already)
Years ago, I played a casual against a friend who tried to make a Magical Explosion deck. He got his GY all set up but hadn't set the M.E. yet. Not sure why, but it goes to my turn. What he didn't know I had planned to discard Jinzo from my hand for a cost, and then flip my Call/Haunted at the start of his turn. Worked like a charm. Lol
Fun times in 2010's.
I'm surprised Ameba isn't on the list, even an honorable mention. I mean sure it requires a Creature Swap-like effect but it deals 2000 points of burn damage to your opposition.
I'm more surprised that Cauldron of the Old man was not honourable mentioned while wave-motion cannon is, cus cauldron can burn 8000 LP in 2 less turns than wave-motion cannon.
Too inconsistent...
Fair enough.
Meanwhile Magic Cylinder is off crying in a corner somewhere, remembering the days of turning an opponent's 8000 ATK monster into 8000 damage.
@@BloodfelX I still remember the day I got Red Nova Dragon to 9000 ATK and hit a Magic Cylinder.
Maybe for a top 10 could be "Top 10 Link monsters that were given to older archetypes so they could still be competative/usable in Master Rule 4"?
Or maybe generic links that were given as fusion, synchro, xyz support when master rule 4 was in effect?
Burn decks are my fave thanks for the upload. Sadly duel links will prob half the damage on ALL these cards if they come to links
That dark strike fighter synchro from the start of the 5 D era. It was so good it was banned pretty quickly
magical explosion I think would work with decks that allow you to mill your own cards with effects like card destruction or ones that force you to take cards directly from the deck to the graveyard
There was nothing better than hitting an opponent by 2000 with a first turn Des Koala
The moment I clicked on this video I knew Blaze Fenix would be on here.
Don't know if you played master duel yet but it would be cool to see what you can come up with in terms of a burn deck
Cowboy has won more games than any other card is this list. So it has to be in the list. And what about D.D Dynamite? You can play that card on a Maju deck and Maju have seen lot of comp play.
Good video
Nice intro animation!
I learn of Magical Explosion and Life Equalizer from Dzeeff when he talked about Exodia and why they're better at doing what Exodia is suppose to do than Exodia itself.
I'm sorry.
@@catisreckless4647 What?

One of these years, I'd love to see you do a list of the top ten cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh Advent Calendars, especially since it's Christmas :)
Please do Top 10 most used link monsters or Top 10 cards that are based on the anime or Top 10 cards that have funny naming/puns in their names !
A good burn card that supports aqua, fish, and sea serpent type of is Poseidon Wave, which is a trap card that can negate an attack on your monster plus deal 800 burn damage per aqua, fish, and sea serpent type of card that you control.
Battle traps are too slow in modern Yugioh
Top 10 cards that can be substituted as a fusion material.
Top 10 cards that Duel Links allow NPCs to use, but not real players.
On the second one for sure
Ectoplasmer is a card that Arkana uses at the gate, but that's not available
ooooh shiat that burn damage at the end xD
Crimson Nova, The Dark Cubic Lord is a 3k beater with an easy summoning mechanic, has protection from monsters with 3k or less original attack, can attack a second time if it destroys a monster, and deals 3k burn damage to both players at the end of the turn. Really wish it was on the list, it's one of my favorite cards.
I made a gimmicky stall burn deck out of scrap iron scare crow, fairy box, and messenger of peace stalling while secret barrel, just desserts, ceasefire, and my waifu at the time princess of tsurugi burned
I was the first person to top a major event with ChainBurn back in 2006, so you can thank me for that being a deck :)
Depends on if you're talking about strength NOW vs. strength at the time they were released, but Chaos Emperor Dragon and Dark Strike Fighter should be on the list as they were meta-defining burn cards that ultimately got banned.
It was mentioned in a couple older Videos that these Lists are always made with the current Metagame in mind.
I remember using Venom Burn in my Venom deck and did well over 32000 damage to my opponent, as I locked them out with other card effects as they had a zero ATK Points monster on the field.
So the counters can just infinitely stack.

Chain Strike reminds me a lot of my favourite MTG deck: Izzet Storm
Before the Six Samurai Deck, Burn Deck was my primary.
My brother hates me for it. Other players didn't take me seriously at first but when they experienced burn damage at 2k-3k per burst, they realized the power of burn decks.
My favorite is Gustav Max, followed by Super Conductor Tyranno. Both of them are excellent to finish off a limping opponent after my Ultimate Conductor Tyrannos and my syncros beat them up.
And speaking of Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, I never get tired of seeing him on top 10 lists so how about top 10 cards that can attack multiple times per turn?
