Top 10 Anti-Support Cards in YuGiOh
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 чер 2024
- In this video will be going over the best anti-support cards, where instead of benefiting an entire type of cards or archetypes, these are kind of designed with the opposite intent in mind and could be considered incredibly specific counter cards to an extent.

“If a continuous spell card like this was made with the *DARK* attribute”
“It will probably be banned tomorrow”
Lmao I’m dead 😂
#9 Ally of Justice Cycle Reader basically won the 2016 Championship Finals game 2 in a Blue-Eyes mirror match
guess it comes to that one saying: yeah it sucks, but don't underestimate it.
Cycle reader is like a proud of the ally of justice family. (And Catastor too.)
I dont ever know this haha
But is interesting for anti-LIGHT deck against Light deck
What deck was Cycle Reader using? XD XD
@@singleplayermoments Blue-Eyes *mirror match*
funnily enough when cyber dragons were rampant at my locals we tended to have a side deck war with them, aka we started to put system downs to counter them, they would put in gren majus for the eventual removal of all their monsters, we started to heavily side in effect veilers for them so they started to run aqua dolphin to work around that and so on lol.
Anyone ever play full power Ally of Justice with 3 System Down? XD
Thats just yugioh
Honorable mentions :
- prohibition : anti anything you've declared
- gnomaterial : anti extender
- anti-spell fragrance : anti pendulum & spells
I would also say anti fusion zone or fusion eater for fusion decks
I would also add:
-Majesty's Fiend: anti monsters effect
-Vanity's Fiend: anti special summoning
Barrier statues are also situationally pretty good
Chaos Hunter can shut down graveyard effects, it has a decent body of 2500 attack (not the best but still pretty good) and it can be special summon when your opponent special summons a monster (which is a requirement to be apart of the meta).
Royal Command(Flip effects) & Skill Drain(effect monsters on the field)
Ok so I may have mis-spoke a few times in the video about extra decks and types being attributes yada yada yada. Lets all pretend I did that on purpose to get more comments
A very Starbucks like strategy there I approve👌
Good idea tbh well played .
Ok, cool. I'll just go and do a 27-card deck with my 3 upstart goblins or something...
Ok cool.
Playing spell cards in the extra deck is the new meta
Back in my day we called them "hate cards"
I think MTGSalvation called them Hosers...? At least, I think that's the term I saw for the 's Defeat cycle in Hour of Devastation...
@@RaceBandit Hoser's are slightly different from hate cards. Hosers are basically 'We've reached point X in the game, your playing deck Y, so unless you have a counter to card Z, you lose'
@@JindraAG Given the average Magic player, they've already countered card Z and won the game.
I always knew them as hate cards lol
Probably trying to avoid saying the phrase "dark hate cards" sorta like how magic players might say "black hate cards" which might get people the wrong idea
5:15 "Zombie World" Decks in Yu-Gi-Oh are like Ghost and Dragon Types in Pokémon: kryptonite to their own kind
As a player of the latter, I can imagine the terror for the former.
Renamon Huepow Spider-Man pointing meme
Zombie World decks tend to be my go-to for stopping tribal decks in video games because not only do I stop all of their good support, but I then can mess with what is left.
So
Zombie World and Cyber Dragons are to Yugioh as Ghost and Dragon are to Pokémon
Me: Wow i sure am glad Yugioh doesn't have set rotation!
**sees set rotation**
Me: ...
Wait what
Konami: We have a Set Rotation at home
@@jofx4051 Magic and many other TCGs do their tournaments with only certain cards allowed, generally cards released within the last year or so, which can include reprints of older cards. In Yu-Gi-Oh!, however, ignoring the banlist, all cards are always legal forever.
@@daytonholo2750 essentially unless you're opponent wants to potentially benefit you, locks out their field effects.
*confused confusing confusion*
Just imagine System Down being quick-play.
Would probably be banned tbh. It's already an insane card
@@SethJV ikr
RIP ABC
ABC and Cyber Dragon would cry for eternity
that would be insane!
Jinzo is Anti-trap support. Sure, it is not popular now, but back in the day, it was one of the most powerful cards in the Yugioh history. I think it deserves at least the number 10 spot, just for its glorious days
Even now, it sees play sometimes! In side decks mostly , especially for branded (Labrynth hurts branded quite a bit)
Duel Logs. After all these years you still love talking about that spell card systems Down......I love it. Keep it up. Keep doing what it do 👍
Same
I felt a nostalgic pang when he mentioned Systems Down after so long.
Its a popular tech card in Duel Links since AG was meta, then Crystron, now Karakuri
@@fuschiawarrior2159 I felt a pang of dread. Back in school I played superheavy samurai against my buds and one of them actually started siding goddamn system down against me, and this was when superheavy were slow and couldn't rly combo much...
Wait a minute doesn't cyberload fusion counter systems down to an extent? If you're playing Cyber dragons
1:22 Poisonous Winds was also played in Duel Links during the Koaki Meiru era, because the deck's boss monster, Maximus Koaki Meiru, was Wind attribute and was a broken card, that was in fact limited
Ancient fairy dragon "Broken"
I remember when that dragon was labelled as "The Useless" syncro Dragon that novody uses
Love her. Favorite Synchro
You know, until Harpy FTK became a thing where they could OTK you if they had 2 certain cards in their hand that they could run 3s of and had 3s of searchers for said card, meaning they could FTK you like 90% of the time and dodge an effect veriler the whole time.
Black winged dragon was always worse
To be fair, back in the day this card was only useful if you absolutely hated Ancient Gears and Crystal Beasts, the only two archetypes with a field spell card worth playing.
Top 10 cards that have a unique word in them (ie: Yu Jo Friendship- "handshake")
And I believe illusion magic is the only card that mentions 2 "copies" of a card
Wall of illusion original text:
The monster attacking this *creature* is returned to its owner's hand. Any damage resulting from the attack is calculated normally.
transmission gear for being the only card that makes you play rock, paper & scissors
Mare mare 'thrice per turn"
@@TallerVision there is another card besides mare that is thrice but it could be an honorable mention
Damn, Poisonous Winds has gotta be pretty good if it’s the only Continuous Spell that can be put in the Extra Deck
@ he probably never played the game lol
@ haha that one was good lol
Master Rule 6 leaked
@ can't tell if this is bait but he's played yugioh a lot, just look at his older videos
System Down can also be put in the extra deck.

I think you mean side deck
Extra deck is for fusion and that type of stuff
and main deck pendulums on occasion. . .
He meant Side Deck, but, oh well
What does the side deck do??
@@AzureGuardian051 Tech Cards against certain Match Ups

I felt so sad about machine deck, they get countered so much by system down and chimeratech
It’s hilarious that Cyber Dragon loses hard to other Cyber Dragons. Whoever goes first is in big trouble.
Very interesting idea for a video, its cool hearing about cards made to combat certain playstyles
I didn't knew that Poisonous Winds and System Down were Extra Deck monsters.
You learn something everyday.
Yeah you did forget one that sees more anti-support than anything on this list. Volcanics.
Where's Payne at 😂😂😂
Lmaoo
Last time i was this early, I was watching Pegasus get crushed by a building, and red dragon flashed by with a motocyle in its mouth.
Evilswarm Ophion is technically anti-support for anything level 5 or higher.
Ah yeah that card is annoying back then
Jofx
Nah. One player Yu-hi-oh is always fun
@@jofx4051 Konami will ban it in 2036 out of spite
1:33 so you advocate a continuous spell in the Extra deck? well, i guess i could, just hope no one calls a judge on me for cheating.
He kept calling it "the extra deck", pretty sure he meant "the side deck"...
Top 10 archetype specific draw two cards.
Number 1: Destiny draw
Sylvan charity
Rare Value
Solar Recharge
Supercharge!
Top 10 Forgotten Archetypes that have potential
Really great idea
Venoms #1
Their boss monsters is ridicoulusly powerful and they have a 4x foolish burial spell
And can't forget the dark scorpions
ally of justice would be a good archetype if:
1. DNA surgery had a continuous spellcard counterpart
2. They added more good cards to the archetype.
The key thing here is that they themselves could be light and it wouldn't matter.
Inzektors because dragonfly anmd hornet are both unlimited again
Honorable mention to a anti support card which Duel Logs already made an old video of these cards, this one is called Clear World. It’s a Field Spell card that has negative effects depending on what Attribute monster is on the field, basically an Anti Support card for all 6 Attributes except Divine and crippling your opponent. This card affects either player btw, but here’s the thing you can play cards that change Attributes of your choosing depending on your situation like “DNA Transplant” also you won’t be affected because of this one boss monster called Clear Vice Dragon which makes you “unaffected by the effects of “Clear World” basically making you bypass all the detrimental effects of Clear World. Sadly though there’s only 2 cards in this Clear archetype and these cards are Mediocre at best, but I have a deck that works surprisingly well with only 2 cards in it, it’s with a different archetype that’s actually good. If y’all are more interested about this stuff then leave a comment and I’ll be glad to respond back to it.
As a Machine-type Duelist exclusively, I live in constant fear of System Down, and to a lesser extent Acid Rain.
I remember back in the x-saber meta. Side decking in gottoms emergency call. Using one of your opponents best cards to lock them out of extending. While also filling your own field was magical.
Had a System Down back when Machinas were the meta. I was dueling my buddy during lunch, and this guy challenges me after my win. He pulls out his Machina deck, i lost the first round. Second round I sided System Down, and the guy was in shock when I played it cause he didnt know such card existed. He scooped and left.
Poisonous Field is so powerful, that it can be added to the extra deck!
As a Cyber Dragon player, System Down is the reason why I play Cyber Network and Lightray Sorcerer in my deck, as comeback options.
"If there was a poisonous wind for Dark type it'd be banned immediately"
Dark types: "wah wah, daddy Konami other attributes are getting to play!"
Other types: "yay! It's finally my turn on the computer!"

Another great breakdown of cards my friend good video
Dude, I just wanna let you know that I appreciate every second of these videos you make, you surely put a lot of effort in it
Awww yeah, best channel on UA-cam right here
13:15 my biggest nightmare
Ironically Cyber Dragons are extremely well-equipped to come back from a board nuke that banishes face up. Cyberload Fusion says hello.
Also Cyber Dragon Infinity
Even Kozmo had a play around system down.
Degenerate Circuit and Witch’s Strike aren’t on the list?
Edit: nevermind, this isn’t a “worst” list
Also, Witch's Strike isn't really 'anti-support' for much specific, since the things it punishes are so widely used that there aren't really things it punishes any more than anything else.
I do wish it was more useful, though, because successfully firing it off is a HILARIOUS momentum-killer.
Always good to see my favourite card on lists like this Baledroch is amazing
Wow didn't know about the D&D channel that's so cool i immediately subscribed
Thank you sir your Yugioh and WoW channel are all I listen to at work keep up they good work don’t worry I’m subscribed to both!

man I don't even play yugi oh since like 10th grade, but do enjoy just listening to your videos. it's kind of calming.
A video concept you could do is best competitive decks over the years. Love the vids :)
WOAH you have a top 10 dnd channel? You're like my favourite top 10 guy and dnd is like my favourite game, it's a dream come true!
an ally of justice card besides catastor on your list amazing
Where are the best of all Anti-Support Cards called DNA-Surgery and Insect Barrier? D:
I love seeing my boy on a top ten best cards
New intro looking damn good
Really surprised I didn't see chimeratech fortress dragon on this list. It used to always be in the extra in machine heavy metas
Constellar Diamond is the bane of Shaddoll, literally designed to counter every gimmick of that archetype. In lore though, he did not fight against Shaddoll, but against Infernoid (specifically Onuncu) and nearly got decimated lol.
Nice. Never fought what he'd be best at.
I didn't know you could play Poisonous Winds in the extra deck
I played Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid but then moved to Magic the Gathering. Now though, after seeing some of the crazy combinations in MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh has some of the craziest combinations that have paragraphs lol. I wouldn't even be able to use any of these new decks or cards lol. Art design is really cool though.
Try duel links to get the feeling back
Cyber Dragon is like the only machine deck that can actually get around System Down. Since Cybernetic Fusion exists, is searchable, and (If you want to summon Overload Dragon) you can put all your banished machines right back into the deck.
They would just negate it with Infinity
I am kinda surprised you didn't mention Jinzo, he is honestly the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of anti-support
Thank you for showing me cards i would have never seen and used online
Love your video's!
Also at 1:30 you said extra deck instead of side deck. Just letting you know
I actually made a buster blader deck that brings out both busters (fusion+synchro) on my opponents turn and lock them out and it’s GG on my following turn lol
It’s really good tbh 👀
Have you done a top 10 for cards that mill your opponent’s deck? Love the vids btw!
I think he did.
After 8 hours UA-cam decided to notify me this was up...
Ah System Down... You haven't lived as an Ancient Gear player until someone top decks that card on the last turn they have to play before losing. Hurts me to my soul to this day.
Last time I was this early, Links didn't even exist.
Good ol' days
I will always upvote these vids. I’m just saying, the common terminology I’m familiar with is “hate” cards. Like for the first example on the list, it would be called a “wind hate” card
I was expecting to see Ally of Justice Decisive Armor. I remember the times it single-handedly beated a Lightsworn and Blue-Eyes while i was using it at Ygopro LMAO
Thanks you for #3, DuelLogs! My favorite synchro monster and, now that I think of it, favorite light dragon monster. Beautiful, defensive, strong, peaceful, banned, cute whether happy, angry, or sad. Prettiest card I ever saw. I thought it was banned for its lv4 summoning.
10:23 laughs in cyberload fusion
😂🤣
Looking back here in June 2021, I can safely say that Poisonous Winds still won't see play despite a meta wind archetype existing.
Flundereeze spams normal summons on both players' turns rather than special summon, so the floodgate doesn't work.
Really interesting topic
Abyss dweller is a good anti graveyard card. I wouldn’t say it’s the best, but it’s super ez to bring out, plus it locks your opponent from using grave effects.
I remember playing RR at locals when they flipped over shadow imprisoning mirror. I soul shaved into Cyber Dragon Infinity and won.
Great video , top. 10 toolbox cards?
Probably a great idea if you make like 10 videos talking about top 10 decks of 2010, 2001,...
6:11 Oh, new background!
I give the editors like 180 backgrounds to pick from. Theres still a few they've just never used yet.
As soon as I saw this video, I looked through my old cards and found shadow-imprisoning mirror. I knew it would appear on this list.
3:16 Ally of Justice Qurantine is the 3rd most played AoJ card since it can floodgate some LIGHT decks.
1: Jinzo is anti-support for trap cards. Sure, traps aren't as useful (And it's definitely the support that makes it way more live than these other cards), but having a full negate of an entire card type is really useful.
2: Revival Cards list. Best or Worst.
Denko Sekka>Jinzo
Just curious : how would "Consecrated Light" rank if there wasn't already "Shadow Imprisoning Mirror" to deal with DARK attribute ?
It was at like number 11
Will you make a video of top 10 best fusions with 2 or 3 specific materials
Can we talk about the fact that he said that people might put a spell card into their extra deck in the future and the editors just went with it?
Edit: Just realized he said it twice
if you haven't done it already, top 10 worst Anti-_something_ archetypes. ex, Meklords, Galaxy-Photon ( anti-Xyz for GEPD), etc.
Ally of Justice Decisive Armor saw a good amount of play, he’s definitely the 3rd best AoJ monster
There is another most-played Ally of Justice, in Speed Duels: Klausolas, a Normal 6-star with 2300 ATK. Using the Skill "Spell Proof Armor", it's the highest ATK of any monster in the format which can be Normal Summoned without tributing. It sees a lot of play in a Tier 2 Jinzo deck and it's placed in a few Speed Duel tournaments.
Have you done any videos relating to Contact Fusions yet?
I would love to see a Top Ten Cards that were Unexpectedly Good; cards with little attention prerelease that ended up being much better than people thought they would be, particularly if another card released later made them suddenly very good to have.
top 10 link2 monsters that belong to a certain archetype like sunglightwolf/hexstia/isolde/verte anaconda etc could be a neat next video.
Where did you get the intro template?!
In the earlier years I played a generic machine deck because I got a Perfect Machine King in a booster pack. My friend put System Down in the deck after a few duels so I had to retire it. (Him and my brother were the only two people I had easy access to duel with back then.)
What you don't mention about Doomking Balerdroch is the fact that it can negate some of the handtraps that some of them are Zombie attribute and quite popular (Ghost series) and also triggering Doomking effect itself:
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
Ghost Reaper & Cherry Blossom
Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion
Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood
Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill
oooh that background for number 6
System Down was side decked a lot when Kozmo was Tier 0. Nowadays you dont see enough Mecha Phantom Beast or Cyber Dragon to justify a side deck slot.
Re-Qliate, the floodgate for the Qliphort archetype, is anti support for normal summon combo starters AND special summoned monsters LVL 5 and up.
Never been this early, gotta say something good.
TOP 10 PHANTOM OF CHAOS TARGETS: UNLIMITED SHENANIGANS.
Last time I was this early Yata Garasu wasn’t banned
Oh
Seeing this video and forgotten winds while Virtual World is out currently is funny in retrospecr
Fun fact: Majespecter Unicorn - kirin's part of the card's name;"Kirin" is also us for funder unicorn like monster in the Monster Hunter series!!!😉
My trolling deck has both Light and Shadow Imprisoning Mirror in it as well as Gravity Bind and other cards specifically chossen to limit my opponents field.
Poisonous winds against floowandereeze would be great as a side tech option
@TheDuelLogs: Can you please make a Top 10 list of Level 8 monsters?
Did you ever do a top ten best floodgate cards ?
