So glad someone thought of this, I've been raging about the design of controllers and arcade sticks for the last few years. This solves basically all my concerns about overall design. Hope they make it a permanent feature to Aracde Shock.
PhiDX I just want to say I love and appreciate your Noctis play. Great to see a Noctis main out there. So awesome to watch. Love the design of your stick. That sword outline is a nice touch.
I picked up fighting games in my thirties, and it just seemed to make the most sense to go to leverless after pad. The first time I saw a stick I thought I'd really want to play was JDCR's recent video with his stick. it just seemed so much tighter than stick I'd seen before. I don't ever see switching, it just seems like a wild choice after a year plus getting fluid with hitbox yours looks very nice, I like the spacing. I also like the big buttons on the right side which the hitbox (hitbox brand hitbox) doesn't have. I always love seeing these. beautiful gear. I've been into starcraft since 2010 and the keyboard/mouse relationship is just so cool, and so is the controller relationship in fighting games. I just love this stuff. great videos as always!
For 4 button fighting games I'll take noir all day. I'll use the 4 buttons in the middle as my primary buttons, leaving 2 buttons off to either side for special attacks. It's hard not to get obsessed with fight sticks. I'm on my 3rd one in a decade and I've never even gotten to be good with them. That didn't start to happen till I picked up KI, here recently. I'm thinking about building one from scratch. P.S. The world needs more Fightsticks that can take korean levers without a construction permit.
Fight sticks in general are intimidating to me. It's almost like a skateboard. There's just so many options and because I grew up playing on console I just don't have the insight. Not sure where to begin, but I'd like to give one a try.
I remember the drx boys have their 1,2,3,4 buttons mapped to the 4 middle buttons so that they have access to 2 side buttons to the left and to the right. Theyre using viewlix too. Do you have an idea about the reasoning behind it?
The new sticks they're on have the Makestick layout, so they're on the left 4 as far as i know. But yeah, Arslan, Knee, and a bunch of others used to do middle 4 for a more comfortable spacing
How does it feel after removing the 2 plates and just having 1 aluminum plate? I’m planning to change my obsidian 2 to extended vewlix but unsure how it would change the feel and sound of the fight stick.
i dont agree . when sitting, hands are naturally crossed to the center. so both stick and buttons should be centered and close. so default qanba obsidian is best ergo
I normally play on pad and just recently bought a mix box to try out something different. The first thing I did with the 8 buttons was to map the centre 4 to lp/rp/lk/rk, so that my hand would be centered within 8. It's just what immediately made sense to me to do. Is this not common? Also, you mentioned quick rage drives and parries, but there's also another little situation where a bind does something you can't otherwise replicate easily. With Eddy when I do instant while running 3, I do it with f,f,f 2+3. This way if I mess it up I'll get either ff2 or f2, which happen to be much less awkward misinputs than his f3 and ff3. I think Dragunov gets a similar advantage from doing iwr with 2+3. I'm sure there's other characters who this would help too. This doesn't work without a bind --- buffering the button doesn't do the same thing, so you'd otherwise have to do a frame perfect input.
They are good for macros. Like 1 4 .2 3 inputs. I use one for one for 1 4 input because that input doesn't fell natural for mvc3 and tekken 7 for Kazuya rage. And I use the second for rage drive. In most games your right most old school players only use 6 keys but the extra 2 are nice to have. Sides newer fighting games are using more buttons now. And in training mode reset replay ect its useful. Oh yea I forgot navigating menus you need them

Vewlix strains my fingers with how spread out the buttons are, I much prefer Noir.

Great interview 👍 any chance on getting a review of the Knee Lever stick ?

feels fine but is a bit louder
You earned a like with that Persona stick! I would do a persona 4 one for myself!

May i know what lever you are using
knee neo

Pakistan mostly does this, and some Korean players do too. Less common in the West
Hey thanks for the video. Do you know if this will fit the Qanba Pearl?
It should yes, the inner construction is the same
Just cane across this and was wondering if arcade shock will be doing one for the obsidian 2
They already do!
@@PhiDX aaaah yeah its there...good to know and it seems that i don't need to dremmel anything off of the plastic
What upgrade can you do to improve your Wavedash in Knee Lever?
Will this layout be available on other sticks too?
Depending on demand!
I moved from xbox. Using atrox and a hori rap. I can't find a ps5 stick got any suggestions
I'm like 90% sure Korean pros don't use all 8 buttons. 6 Buttons max. Just ask Knee.
Lowhigh switched back to vewlix, as does Qudans
tekken forces you to use more than 6 buttons, you can´t press 2 buttons at the same time with the tekken system, the best layout would have 10 buttons
