I also flew Bangkok Airways between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. I was most impressed! The airfare was very, very reasonable for the r/t ticket. The onboard service -- which like you included a light meal on a short flight -- was very good too. In addition, Bangkok Airways has a lounge with all sorts of drinks and snacks at the Suvarnabhumi Airport which all passengers can visit before the flight. I highly recommend this boutique airline.
Gosh I have not been to CHIANG MAI since I was a little boy. I love eating at airports in Thailand, they're all so reasonably priced and food quality really excellent. Gosh you make me wanna go back to Thailand, really. Does PG still have lounge access for all passengers before the flight? I might do this between DMK and CNX , I think the trains are now running between DMK and Bangkok city, which is so much closer than BKK. I love those puff pastries, they serve that a lot between Phuket and Bangkok.
When they checked me in they said I had lounge access which surprised me but I didn't see any Bangkok Airways lounge at the departure area. I could only see the Thai Airways lounge so guess I missed out. They did not tell me I had lounge access when i checked in at Bangkok to fly up to Chiang Mai. I did see the Bangkok Airways lounge at the airport there but presumed I didn't have access.
There is a new train link from Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok to Don Mueang Airport. I went out to check out the station, a bit of a ghost town now as only running trial train services. A massive train station. Will be amazing once it is up and running,
Chiang Mai looks great.. sounds like you had a great 4 days there! 7 airlines is a great range of choice…I’d probably fly one way with one and then something different return… I’m guessing they are all relatively cheap as well. As for the plane registration, I’m assuming you probably know? but you can always grab the rego via flight radar if you look up the flight and then scroll down to the date. Great trip report! Enjoying the Thailand videos!
Ah yes. I do have Flightradar membership. I did not think to look up the flight and check the rego. Thanks for the tip. Chiang Mai is a lovely town. Very laid back and a bit cheaper that Bangkok. I am itching to get back to Thailand. I'll probably wont get to go there until Easter next year. You must be counting down to your next trip. Enjoy.
@@NowGetThereA few years back I was looking at long term accommodation in Chiang Mai… couldn’t believe how good the prices were. Yep, haha! Just slightly over a week now… looking forward to it!
@@NowGetThere firstly, Khao Soi is the king, followed closely by Tonkotsu Ramen. Show Neua in Haymarket is great, Chat Thai anywhere is also pretty good (it’s a chain restaurant)
Ciangmai really impress me and has great place to vacation
Chiangmai is awesome place to visit

@@LukeCrisp you can live so cheaply in Thailand 🇹🇭
Yeah Kao Soi is amazing. I’m surprised it’s not popular in OZ. Shits all over Laksa.
I know of a few great places in Sydney that sell it
Oh I still think a laksa is the king of noodle soups!
I need to find some Thai Restaurants in Sydney that sell good Khao Soi. Any you recommend?

@@NowGetThere if you are ever in Newcastle, Icon Thai in Honey Suckle, and Bangkok Nights in Hamilton do good as well
@@tjshan thanks for the tips. I will check these restaurants out.
Bangkok Airways passengers can access the free lounge! You should have used their lounge at Chiang Mai Airport :)
I did not know all passengers could use the lounge until after the flight.
🥰lovely
Thank you 😊 💓
