The turning point for me seeing Luc Montagnier, a Nobel Laureate in virology being "fact checked" on a matter of virology by someone whose highest qualification was a bachelor of fine arts. No Joke, that actually happened!
And there is nothing wrong with that. The guy who sweeps the floor of the toilets can fact check even the greatest expert. People have to stop thinking that just because someone has qualifications or is labelled “fact checker” then it means they are right. Check the science and sources for yourself, dont just rely on experts or fact checkers.

Anybody can argue and discuss point of an expert and the expert can be wrong for sure.
It is how science work after all by questioning everything.
But fact checking is different, it is about silencing those you fact check and no a student of fine art has no credential to silence a Nobel laureate in virology when it come to COVID (just like the laureate in virology has no right to silence a student of fine art when it comes to art).
Peer review come to mind. Peer review is fack checking by peers, skill-full and competent in the matter they are checking.

@@anteeko no, fact checking isnt different, dont let them fool you into thinking it is. Fact checking occurs every time YOU compare a claim to the source. Fact checking is not a special thing and doesnt require special skills. This is where facebook and others are trying to use fact checking as a way to gain credibility, it arose as a way to prevent the perception that they are spreaders of misinformation. Fact checking is just your opinion about the claims another makes. It doesnt mean you are right.

Just finished re-reading 1984 today coincidentally, The concepts of "un-personed; thoughtcrime ; thoughtpolice; goodthink" seem so much more chilling today than they did when I first read this. Huxley's position that by changing language the capacity to critique/analyse is also manipulated.

On his take on immunity, I'm not sure when he changed his perspective on that. It's certain that he has? For as far I'm aware there's still real immunity for people who've had the real live virus infection and immunity for that particular variant. Now when omicron is here that immunity has less effect.

John’s take could’ve been wrong. I’m no expert, maybe you are, you sure seem to know alot about it! I’ve had the wu1 virus infection, never been reinfected. Don’t know why, but I sure see lots of vaccinated people getting (bad) infections. Do you know if the jabbed/natural infected are good for now? I mean they got protection against severe disease/death. Not infection itself.
Maybe John’s perception of a covid19 vaccine was that of traditional vaccines administered in kids for example. They DO offer real immunity, right?
Maybe it’s just plain stupid to compare a covid19 vaccine/flu jab to a tradition vaccine like for example measles? Because influenza/corona virusses mutate like crazy, it’s just not feasible. What’s your take on that?

Having been fact checked by the fb fact checkers and now my posts are well hidden, those checkers of facts (haha) are prone to referencing all sorts of ‘experts’ to randomly misinterpret interpretations of other more acceptable interpretations of facts that don’t require debunking by debunkers who don’t like the scientific research of the ‘bunkers’
Facebook brings to our attention-

Facebook is not perfect and gets things wrong. But the fact is there are lots of bad players pushing misinformation for insidious purposes and so many people are gullible, we absolutely need fact checking. Work to eliminate the bias in fact checking, but don't get rid of it.

The have a political bias but going back a few years when they did nothing and Alex Jones types were rampant on social media, it was scary what people where believing.
There needs to be a class-action lawsuit against FB for posting these "checks" as "facts" when they are mere opinions.
Everything is a mere opinion. Fact checkers have a reputation and accountability and come under scrutiny.
They have helped more against anti-vax/anti-covid stuff than it has hurt legitimate sources like John+BMJ. So it is doing more good than bad. Don't want to go too far with FB checks as they do need to be there. Granted they do need to be improved.
@@nijjijjion204 before these "fact" checkers came on the scene it was just media lies and people speaking against them (think WMDS in iraq) Now there is censorship from privately funded business. They have FBs interests first and foremost not ours, hence FB admitting they are just opinions.
They had years to confirm or debunk cloth mask...where are facts checks like that, instead they set their sights on one of the only real pillars of knowledge we have left.

Plus fact checkers have censorsed people for over two years now and they have been wrong consistently.
Like lab leak, vaccine effectiveness, safety profile, early treatments, effectiveness of lockdowns and the list could go on.

I've been watching for a more than a year now. I am both fascinated and saddened at the same time, as I watch a man's trust and regard for the media erode with each succeeding video. Thank you, Dr. Campbell, for soldiering on to educate us despite the smear job that you have been unfairly subjected to.

The sad thing is that Dr Campbell is retired and so (presumably) has plenty of time to research his topics, yet even so it has taken him this long to understand how biased the MSM and Big Tech are - how can we expect a regular, working medic to do the same? Maybe this is why my wife's medical friends still toe the official line and, frankly, behave like rabbits in headlights when she tries to talk to them about "controversial" subjects.

They are being pressured by criminals like Fauci and some very foolish politicians who think they can control the dial on the censor and that it would never turn against them.
This is especially true of climate change of course. "Thought police" I believe is referring to the understanding that these fact checkers are not necessarily checking facts but checking narratives that do not agree with their perceptions of the topic. I would also point out that the act of banning or silencing someone for a different viewpoint is a form of censorship (especially in this case). The reason I come here daily is because I find you provide the information coming out in an apolitical way and you break it down so well in 20-30 minutes. The USA and the corporate media are responsible for using COVID for politics or enriching themselves by keeping people divided.
Remember: don't direct your ire at the "fact checkers" themselves, nor the corporate entities employed in childish games of musical chairs, but rather the feckless executive types/shareholders at the very top whose direct decisions lead to all of this, as well as any politicians engaged in collusion with them.
I live in the states (Oregon) and found your show a year or so ago. Since then I watch it almost daily. It’s one of a very small few places that gives a global view of how COVID is affecting other parts of the world and the differing responses and outcomes. Thank you for the work you are doing!!!

I was a Retired Clinical Nurse Specialist. I qualified in 1982 and retired in 2017. I am extremely concerned about “ clinicians “ given the Covid 19 IM injection without aspiration.
I see that this is now policy: I have sent my MP your video and a BMJ paper advocating aspiration.

Animal Farm, a short read, is a book I see a lot of what’s happening as well as great read 1984. Both were required reading and could not quite comprehend its content at age 17 year old until these past years when it appears to me, it’s coming. I thank the teachers who made this required reading.

Interesting and relevant facts: George Orwell died from Pulmonary Tuberculosis and if you read his letters from the time of his treatment (these are published in book form) he mentions being treated with Streptomycin, as studied in the BMJ paper. He had previously survived being shot through the neck during the Spanish Civil War and it is possible that the TB dated from his time living as a tramp purely to discover what life as a tramp was really like. (It could take years to develop and be diagnosed.)

What we need is a FactChecker that has high and systematic standards, which would shame the low brow "FactCheckers" that currently exist.
This is the playbook on the left now. They don't even rebut the facts, they just say they are wrong with no citation or evidence. And if they can't win the argument they just attack the messenger. Glance through comments on Campbell and you will see tons of the lefties on here saying stuff like "he's only a nurse" ect. Trying to argue he's unqualified to speak, while the people they are listen to are nothing more than talking heads on television. When you can't beat the message, attack the messenger.
Thank you Dr. Campbell for another great video. I have a few things I'd like to say about your commentary on critiques/debunking. While I agree with you that extensive knowledge is necessary for proper critique, any holder of an advanced degree (Master's and above) should be able to critique the basic methodology of a study (e.g., sample/effect size, quantitative/qualitative study, reliability, and validity). I believe this because your point that they SHOULD have a background in that field they are critiquing is a bit ideal -- personally I think this is one reason why meta analyses and systematic analyses hold such high regard in academia.
On that note, I share your sentiment about "fact checkers" and "debunkers" without presented credentials (or even relevant ones). One major problem with the misinformation/disinformation world we have now is that anyone with any kind of public presence (or social media influence rather) is offering very subjective opinions and self-proclaimed expertise on matters they have little understanding. Mainstream media is also a culprit here, as they'll sensationalize pre-print or new studies with small sample sizes and exaggerate the study conclusions. If you as a reader/viewer do not go so far as to check the source material yourself, you'd be hardpressed realizing their claim that "Y is caused by X" was concluded from an article with 28 participants and non-randomized trials which only concluded a weak correlation.
we are going to have to start checking credentials of people and organizations who "fact check"
