I bought Lou Lou by Chararel, it's a classic scent that smells similar to the adorable L'heure Bleu. I'm obsessed with L'heure Bleu dupes! Oscar De LA Renta black lid perfume smells like L Heure Bleu. All gorgeous scents in their OWN right, of course! I love you so my Guerlain goodie! UK 🇬🇧🌹💖♥️💕💋🎄 19.11.24
I also find Oscar's drydown similar to Heure Bleu. I once sprayed one on each wrist to confitm my impression. Similar but HB is not as sweet. It's also much smoother, elegant than Oscar's. I like Oscar's it is very nostalgic to me and connects it to my 20s. Heure Bleu however, is on another level... it'scomforting and dreamy.
I had a bottle of the Oscar and indeed, the first thing that came to mind as soon as I smelled it was “oh hello L’heure Bleue’s descendant!” 😂😂 I ended up giving it away because even though I loved it, I didn’t find myself reaching to it. I have a bottle of Lou Lou, LOVE it as well! 🥰 Oh those classics… ❤️
L'Heure Bleue is such a beautiful, soothing, melancholy perfume. I love wearing it to bed. Neither my husband nor I have any associations to it, other than I vaguely remember smelling it in an antique shop when I was younger. It was pulling me to it then, I remember almost buying it. To me, it's a perfume that's outside of space and time. It's the past, the present, and the future all at once. That's why it's comforting. It reminds me of the saying, "All is well". It doesn't always feel well, but in the end, after everything is said and done, it is. Your haircut is a fun change, it brings out your cheekbones. Thank you for another wonderful review, it feels like a visit with a friend. Be well!
Thank you so much!! 🥰 And thank you for sharing your feelings about it. Beautifully said! It definitely brings that feeling of “all is well”. I have it in my work bag right now, I’ll spray some of it shortly just so I can get some of that “all is well” feeling. Thank you!! 🥰
I never think of the Guerlain classics as smelling dated. They‘re so avant-garde to me because perfumes (and people) just don’t smell like this any more. I didn’t get L‘Heure Bleue for the longest time but I love it now.
L’huere Blu was the first Guerlain perfume I fell in love with. There is an iconic picture of a very famous staircase in Montmartre that is taken as night falls. The cobblestones are wet with rain, street lights lit and it is tinted blue. From that picture I began my search for the meaning of the “blue hour” thus discovering L’HUERE Blu. I have the EDP in a beautiful blue bee bottle. I’ve giving a decant of this and Jicky to my daughter who loves them too.
Omg how did i missed the video about L'heure Bleue. I love how you describe it it's a timeless beauty with it's roots in a different time 💙 thank you for sharing!
Hi, thank you for your review! I'm so agree that a classic need time... It's took me less than one year to make l'heure bleue my signature scent. Even If I loved it at the first moment, it took me time to become mine and I realize today that it was ♡ Thank you for expressing this feeling for this masterpiece so delicate, mysterious, deep and relaxing to me... it gives me idea to discover others Guerlain :)
Thank you for watching, Joanne! 🥰 The classics need a lot more time than most people realize. There’s something to them that definitely isn’t for everyone, but everyone should try them. We never know when one of those beauties will call for you desiring to be yours.
Nothing like it, it's poetry in a bottle.... Art!❤ Thank you for this lovely review. I must ask what is the spinning object in your video, it creates such a cozy atmosphere 😊
Thank you for the beautiful review. I have the EDT version and it is beautiful without being too sweet. It transports me to a different era like my other Guerlain classics. Whenever I wear this I think of the beautiful evening sky and Van Gogh's Starry Night painting and others like it. I prefer vintage or old classics, as I find modern ones too sweet for my taste.
You are right, HB reveals itself and captivates us overtime. It's elegant, deep and mysterious. I chose the EdT over the EdP as well, I found it was the right concentration for me to enjoy its notes.
Gorgeous fragrance indeed! I wish they made soap bars with the same scent.. it’d be fantastical! I haven’t forgotten about the scarves btw! Trying to think of how to film it 😅.
Hello Sebastian! I’m your new subscriber and I enjoy your insightful reviews very much! When I was 20 something, I was gifted a bottle of mitsuko and I did not get it, I gave that bottle away. Now, after trying and owning many niche perfumes, finding that I would like to visit the classics. I’ve purchased small samples of Guerlain’s classics and see how I’d feel about them now.
I love your impressions of this classic beauty! If you don't mind me asking, is there a noticeable difference between the EDP & the extract? I own the EDP and was curious about the extract and if I need to add it to my collection 😊 Thank you in advance!
Hello! Thank you! It’s a pleasure sharing my experience with them. 🥰 There are differences between them for sure but I’ll have to apply them side by side and make a comparison video to be more specific. But from the top of my head what I can say is what I know when it comes to the guerlain extraits; It’s a concentrated version of the EDP/EDT, grander, deeper, smoother.
These are normally available at stand alone boutiques where they offer the “fountain” services. But you can also order them through any guerlain boutique that doesn’t offer those services directly. There’s a bit of a wait in that case.
I'm about to purchase this but undecided on whether to get the edt or edp..I love my powders but feel the edp maybe to much whearas the edt would almost definitely "I imagine" be lighter so is there much difference between the two..what would you recommend..? I'm a male by the way
Hi there! :D Considering everything you mentioned, I’d go with the EDT. The EDP can be too much indeed. The EDT has all the great attributes of the EDP but it is indeed lighter and easier to wear. Much less risky to suffocate/overwhelm you. Please do report back with your choice! And I’d love to hear your thoughts about it once you get it! 😄
@@sebastianfurtado3740 ..hi Sebastian..thank you for the reply my friend..yeah I thought the edt would be the best route to take exactly for the reason's you mentioned...thanks mate i will keep you posted how i get on with it..and please do more reviews 👍

Guerlain classics made during early 20th century smells moody to me most of the time for some reason (VdN most). They never smell dated to me. Thankfully. Great thoughts Sebastian 🤓.
There’s something so captivating and alluring about them that I just can’t have enough! It’s always a great pleasure whenever I wear any of them. The moody aspect is quite real! Thank you for watching! 😃
Love the haircut, Sebastian! Wow, a half liter of perfume 😱 That's awesome. I have not smelled this one but I blind bought L'Heure de Nuit recently...have you smelled that? I'm curious as to how it compares. Great review.
Great review once again Sebastian! I’m aware this isn’t Guerlain related, but are you a fan of Chanel Les Exclusifs or Le Labo fragrances? If so, what’re some of your favorites 😁
Thank you! 🥰 There are a few that I like very much from Les Exclusifs de Chanel but I only own N°18, 1932 and Boy. I don’t own anything from Le Labo but I enjoy Another 13 very much! I enjoy Rose 31 as well. :)
@@sebastianfurtado3740 Am a fan of all that you've mentioned above as well! What're your thoughts on Beige and 1957? I'll have to revisit N18. I remember it was very light on my skin when I sprayed it at the boutique, so I wrote it off which may have been a mistake! I'm looking for one for the summer months which will perform well in the heat. I quite liked Sycomore but found it a bit too dry, and I don't think it would be pleasant wearing on very hot days. N 22 was too strong on the aldehydes, almost astringent to my nose and very harsh, reminds me of a hospital. The opening of Coromandel was nice but I didn't vibe with the dry down of Coromandel either, am not a fan of patchouli. And I don't particularly enjoy the makeup-lipsticky vibe in general
N°18 would probably work in the summer. It’s light but strong enough at the same time and it’s quite unique. I don’t know anything yet that smells like it. I’m not too familiar with 1957, only tested it briefly at a store once and beige is beautiful! I love it but not enough yet to get a FB though. I should revised all the ones I don’t have again though… maybe I’ll fall in love with one of them.

The herbal note you get is anise
Exactly! I did some reading after about the breakdown of the notes and that’s exactly it.

Does it have a play-dough vibe
Not really. Not to my perception at least. It’s more Violet-y and powdery for sure.

Fluently, two. Portuguese and English. But I can also speak Spanish and understand quite a bit of French. :)
