Amazing to think 1974 was only 26 years in the past when this first aired in 2000, whereas it's now 47 ago! I was ten years old in 1974. I remember it very happily, great times. 😍💞
Surprised no mention of that year's Eurovision winners who ended up being one of the most successful acts ever, Or Tom Baker starting his 7 year run of Dr Who the most successful era
I loved this series and this episode in particular, thanks so much for hosting it! The70s were great, don't let any joyless modern pundits (who werent even born yet) tell you otherwise.
A movie should be made about John Conteh, one of the most fascinating and charismatic boxers Britain has ever produced. It is only fitting on this particular show that he has the very last word.
There was a boy in my school that thought Steve Austin had one bionic leg, and two bionic arms 😂 it didn't occur to him that he'd have been running in circles...
A middle aged Chris Spedding looked a little like Leonard Bernstein, good looking. Hair n eyes do it ❤❤❤❤ we used to giggle at school about Wombles. They used to go...... Amanda your a ..... Womble.... .!! Tracy you're a ... Ha ha ha, 70s free spirited kids we were!!! 😂😂😂😂
«Que viva España» from Manolo Escobar an «awful song»? (31:19) As a mildly patriotic Spaniard who happened to pass by here I indignantly reject this claim. How dare you! 😉
I was really enjoying watching this until that evil vile man appeared with his sickening opinions. Stuart Maconie. Couldn't you have edited Maconie out so that decent people can enjoy the rest of the show?
I enjoyed this programme with the exception of the vile Jimmy Saville being on it. If only it had been know publicly what a vile individual Saville was at this time.
Until recent times many would speak about picking girls out of the audience for security to tell the girls the groups hotel room numbers. Don't think they went expecting autographs. Saville was just in on the game.

Also no mention of The Tomorrow People in the years before, but as you say, to miss out ABBA in this one is absolutely criminal.
I was 7 years old & my brother & me got that tennis game 4 our Xmas. We thought we were the luckiest kids in the world

Fucking hell, auld Alvin aged well.

Danny Baker talking about racism, comedy gold!
ROOBARB!!! 😂🤗👍

E was gorgeous 😍 ❤😊
Loved Court Line and those seat-back meals, Fun! I have a Court Line playlist on my channel if anyone fancies some colourful holiday flashbacks!

I still eat Vesta Chow Mein. hahaha!!
Great with Mateus rose!😂😊
Damn I’m old! This is the year I graduated high school!!
Lindsay wagner was absolutely gorgeous
I turned 20 in 1974. Main things I remember are Abba in the Eurovision and the power cuts. Music was great then.
A middle aged Chris Spedding looked a little like Leonard Bernstein, good looking. Hair n eyes do it ❤❤❤❤ we used to giggle at school about Wombles. They used to go......

When was this first shown, 2000?
I was four and in kindergarden.
The singer from MUD looks like Bill Hicks
Dan Dailey and Gig Young (1st 2 Waco Kids) died within 3 days of each other in 1978.
Both committed suicide
Saville....I feel sick.
🤢🤮☝🇬🇧
I was 3 😁
13:18 LOL!

Cant watch it all jim ill fix it appears to much
Interesting presentation, appreciate the interview (Saville should probably be edited out), but so much happened in '74, this touches the surface.
Bionic man and woman why did they forget the bionic dog Max!!😅

I thought you meant Jimmy Saville... 🤔🤣☝🇬🇧
When the women of Pan's Peter kissed Saville I physically shuddered.
🤢🤮☝🇬🇧

John Conteh was a good looking bloke...
😍
You need to edit savile out, spoils the humorous watch
You can't change history.
Not keen on Cribbins's voice
1974, when a prolific pedophile was a major TV personality
12 years old in 1974
I thought he was ken jhonson
Loved watching this, but it needs a re-edit and cut Saville out.
And Danny Baker
Agree totally Saville should never be in anything
Other than cadavas.@@marieince3239
21 in 1974 bloody programmes were awful even back then
I enjoyed this programme with the exception of the vile Jimmy Saville being on it. If only it had been know publicly what a vile individual Saville was at this time.
Dennis Bloodnok Channel it was known about Saville , the BBC and the establishment covered for him.
Don't forget all the pop groups as well taking advantage of the young girls. It was rife in the 70's.
Until recent times many would speak about picking girls out of the audience for security to tell the girls the groups hotel room numbers. Don't think they went expecting autographs. Saville was just in on the game.
yeah i agree they should blur saville out
He presented 1970 one.
