Sonny goes undercover at the hotel dressed as a pimp and with his girlfriend/local prostitute Marie as his wingman. Obviously this can only be solved with a gratuitous poker minigame. (Repost from SQH Plays.)

I liked the little detail of the glass bottle being shattered when Baines murders Sonny.
Then when you open fire on Baines... his last shot is to blast that bottle again. Or Sonny missed and shot the bottle. At any rate, that poor bottle gets caught in the crossfire no matter Sonny's fate.

I remember getting stuck in this bloody Hotel room, not getting Sweet Cheeks to hit the road. It was some time in the 90s and I didn’t have a walk-through to refer to 😅 I only finished the game years later when I finally checked the internet for a solution 😂

It is such a bizarre non-puzzle to have the phone numbers be busy half the time. The player thinks they're doing something wrong but really the game is just jerking them around.

@@spacequesthistorian On the bright side, since I was a teenager in the 90s, my first Sierra adventure games experiences are playing SQ2 and Police Quest I with my father. It became a family tradition to express gratitude, say, after getting a present, for instance, by saying "Thank you very much, but you'll NEVER get it back!" 😅

23:10 "Hiram" is a real name; the Hebrew Bible names him as the king of Tyre during the reigns of David and Solomon. It was a fairly popular name at one time (at least in the U.S.), but is less common nowadays.

I remember the Bains mugshot thing. I can only accept that the lighting was meant to be super bad in the back room gambling tables as some sort of viable reason why Sonny didn't recognise Bains.
I mean, nothing do with Sonny a brain dead skin tube, or his deleting what little brain cells he has with way too much coffee and whiskey.

The artists at Sierra were fully capable of rendering dimly lit night time scenes, even in the AGI days (see: Leisure Suit Larry 1), so my money's on the skin tube thing.

The rel trick to driving in this game is to drop the speed to slow and turn your siren on. That helps negate the slow speed and red lights are no longer an issue. Still have to watch out for those idiot drivers who will plow into you though.
