Just got mine on Friday. Even from someone coming from a Mesa Dual Rectoverb, which is supposedly a nearly direct copy, the SLO just has something special. As a child of the 80s, it has also been a dream amp. I also agree, running this with a Helix (I use 4CM to utilize the stomps as well). Great video! Tone tip: to simulate the “Warren Haynes MOD”, crank the overdrive channel gain to like 1:00, and roll off your guitar volume a touch to cut the gain, but keep the fatter tone that happens with the amp at the point the bright cap doesn’t affect things anymore
I’m just coming to the end of the video, I told you before, but those tones are perfect. I was finally able to figure out getting your captures on my Tonex pedal. I’ll be trying the out tonight and I can’t wait! Thank you again
That amp sounds awesome! I'm looking to maybe buy a tube amp in the near future and might have to give Solano a look at. Great video, you got killer chops as well Steve 🤘
It's an incredible amp, but you really want to always hit a compressor or clean boost for the clean channel to equalize volume and strength of the two channels. The crunch mode is much louder than the clean mode as well. That being said, the 30 will kill in any club venue.
Gary Moore only used the clean channel on the Soldano so don’t get too excited about that. He also ran overdrive pedal through the classic/ clean channel on the Marshall DSL Gary’s tone was much more volume than it was gain- as Joe Bonamassa has learned the older he got😊
@@SteveSterlacci My comment was aimed more towards people who always seem to think Gary Moore played through the high gain channel and Soldano was responsible for his classic tone. You did do a very good job explaining and demonstrating what Gary was doing. Thank you for the video
+++ what a big day for a guitarplayer+++ btw i was at Gary Moore "Still got the blues" tour and heared his Soldano at about 10m away, that was a moment for live i would never forget!!! ...hopefully 😉 he will be allways my No one , too r.i.p.
@@SteveSterlacci hi Steve it is no joke, it was the !!! experience of my LIVE- guitarwise. 110db of christal clear audiophile sound evan better than the album. CD only has 44,1khz and we had 1000 khz... lol. The Soldano in a Grandmasters Hands is not from this Planet..... i whish we could have been there together. I promised you if you come to the northern half of Germany i will meet you !!! 😉😁
hi, mine sounds muffled with the treble on 7 presence has to be above 10 to be playable, is yours the same way? less than 10 on the presence control and it has no highs........

Nice! I will try that. Thanks for the tip
That amp is killer !!!
Thanks Paulie!

Sounds so freakin good!
I wanna keep it! LOL
@@SteveSterlacci 😂 I feel you!
Another entertaining and informative video - keep 'em coming, Steve!
Thanks SS!
That is a gorgeous Les Paul I especially love that it has the tp6 bridge
Thanks Andrew!
Was that bridge on the guitar stock or did you upgrade it?
@@ironblast5 it would have been stock. This was not on it when I got it though. I found one on ebay
Great demo Steve! Sounds great with headphones on! 🎧🎸🎶
Great demo! I’d prefer to have separate tone controls for each channel, but you make it work.
You figure it out! It really barely needs any tweaks. Its just its own sound
That definitely sounds great…I have the Marshall Guv’nor coming, I’m excited about this.
Ah i wanna try them!!!

Thanks David! Means a lot. I hope you get one! Shop at Zzounds if you do. I have links in the vid
This is a dream amp, I don’t know how true it is but the internet says that even SRV was using a SLO 100 before his passing.
I have heard that too!
Ues they made him one but don't think he played live with it, but heard he loved it and wanted it as his main amp
Steve…let’s get that Tonex capture of this amp going!
There are 2 free ones on my site already!

Pretty sure thats how I say it ! Lol it sounds more like the crunch channel but set clean and I like it that way too.

We will be over there a lot this summer! What city do you live in?
@@SteveSterlacci i live near Hannover close to the airport...
Nice! When I have our final dates I will let you know
I think you did not try the bright switch in your demo. It brings a cool tone to the sound as well.
I didn't realize I forgot! LOL Thanks
Hi Steve!
Hello mr 100k subs!
Still think they should have gone with 50 watts
hi, mine sounds muffled with the treble on 7 presence has to be above 10 to be playable, is yours the same way? less than 10 on the presence control and it has no highs........
are you sure all the tubes are good?
That guitar is too nice and distracts from the amp. I can't stop wanting that guitar, but I came here for the amp.
Make sure you profile that for the Tone-X :)
Done it! 2 free ones on my website and I have a full pack coming soon
yep, your presence knob didn't have hardly any effect until you hit about 10 as well.....why is that?????
I use it like Pete Thorn demos. Presence and depth are only used in moderation
5:01 Edge of breakup? Are you serious? That is overdriven, not edge of breakup.
Uhm, yes, I am serious. Thanks Stevey. You sure you were at the right timestamp and now where I max out the normal channel?
If you can't afford the SLO try out a WANGS HD 30. Pretty darn close.
sounds great but I've heard better edge of breakup sounds from you via the Helix, and I'm not saying that to be a punk.
Thanks Steve! You'll never be a punk to me! LOL
Hello Soldano users!! 😋
Hello Richard! Welcome
