Lol that's how I felt about mine before I painted it... I did the vz front cause it hid the I the cooler better without cutting to fit the vt bumper I had to cut it a bit so I changed to the vz 😊

You’ve shown the struggles behind it, which is one of the most important part of any builds, because with failure comes some of the greatest successes and I think you’ve down just that. Thanks man I wanted to give a brief history on the car that is only a fraction of the trials I've been through with it but I'm happy with how it turned out... it is a awesome sleeper doesnt attract alot of attention from the cops and still runs a much when I want it too 😊

@Corn Fed Boost. I’m not sure on the barbies meet I had a look on line for it but only found the doll haha I’ll be heading out to Archy drift park on Tuesday arvo will send it if I can sort my diff out before then if not I’ll just check it out.
Also Luke fink runs the drift track he’s got a page on here uploads daily should check it out you might be able to pull some subscribers from there he’s starting to get a good community going 👍

I had a vy executive wagon in quicksilver for many years I purchased it through the auctions as a write off back in 08 and i chopped the front off and re welded a front on in my driveway to Holden spec got it engineered and viv’ed and put pack on the road. I did a fair bit of work to the motor heads, cam, double row timing chain, exhaust, injectors,rockers,asr sump,ecu the list goes on put thousands into it. I turned it into a complete vy ss wagon replica i had to fabricate the rear bar skirts using Ss crewman skirts because they were obsolete and no one had them back in 09. It was a great car. Had it all the way up to last year when it’s RHR hub assembly snapped turning a corner and it sent me air borne backwards over a gutter totaling it.

Corn Fed Boost Thanks dude. Yeah it was a shame and it was sad to see it go. I also had a vy s pack with the getrag 5spd as my daily when i was doing the work on the wagon but someone who was on their phone drove into the back of it and wrote that off in 2015. Now i have a 200 series cruiser so a bit of a change in pace but i always wanted one so I finally took the plunge and thought I’d step into the 4wd world for a bit. Good luck with your build dude!

There is just something about guys and their love for their nugget. I live in Brisbane and because of an injury I had to sell my beloved VY R8, I cried the day it went, I sold it to a guy in Toowoomba who cherished it as much as I did. I refused to sell it to anybody in Brisbane because I'd lose my shit if I saw it. 3 years later I stumbled across a supercharged VY calais, it's my new nugget and I hope to do what you have done. You are an inspiration mate. Much respect, keep your Commodores peeps, they're an icon now.

This is great. Time, effort and energy into this project really has paid off. It can be a very frustrating journey to do this stuff and more so yourself. The rewards are always worth it in the end though. You should be proud of what you built. Well done mate. The car looks nice in blue. I like that you have kept its form clean, neat and not overly done. Just enough is done to enhance the looks. This will be a sweet ride. I have a heart for the VT/VX as I had owned two VX HSV's in the day. Well done again and keep up the great work.

Best vid I’ve seen on the ol’ ecotec V6 and I enjoyed it so much more cus u did it ur self also ... thank u for sharing ur journey ... 14years ago a friend had a VX with a 35/40 front mounted built motor etc and back then it was almost unheard of but still today they don’t get anywhere near the respect they deserve... I’m a BF XR6T owner and ex-VL-Turbo owner too saying this!😂😂

I'd love to have a play with some fords one day there not really my cup of tea but I can still appreciate them for what they and would love to tinker with them 😊

As someone who's completed a cert 2 in auto the I'd highly recommend, you learn a lot of the the basics that you need to get started
Currently doing the same project. Got a 99 berlina about 6 years ago, converted to vy ss front end and threw stupid amounts if money at the suspension, auto and diff and now have a in progress turbo kit with a snail from a xr6. Can't wait to get the 300-400 goal, good job on your rig mate and hope to see more of it
Shit yeah should handle well then I wish I had more to spend on suspension work.... 400hp with a xr6 turbo should be pretty easy man I'd recommend a set of arp head studs and a fresh set of factory head gaskets...

Just found this, Turbo-charging/supercharging petrol engine vehicles
Turbo-charging or supercharging an engine increases the power of the engine and may increase the exhaust emissions, fuel consumption and reduce the service life of the engine.
Passenger cars and passenger car derivatives (car type utilities and panel vans) manufactured prior to 1 July 1976 and fitted with petrol engines can be fitted with a turbocharger or supercharger to the original manufacturer's engine without DPTI approval.
For cars manufactured on or after 1 July 1976 the fitting of a turbocharger or supercharger requires one of the following:
the vehicle is fitted with a Second Manufacturer's plate to demonstrate compliance with all Australian Design Rules
the vehicle to pass an IM240 emissions test
the converted vehicle is identical to the production turbo/supercharged vehicle.
In all cases a statement of requirements is required and the vehicle must pass a roadworthiness inspection.
Certification from a professional engineer may also be required. See list of qualified engineers recognised by DPTI
Solid build must be so many hours in that car appreciate stuff like this so much more then someone just throwing money at shops no matter what the car. Respect 👌
