You could do episode on all the fake Al, brass, & stainless steel, more for consumers because in all my years of scrapping, even though all the lamps look like brass, only 2 have been pure brass. Even I can't tell without destructive testing using my utility knife. I cut deep to see if there's yellow brass under finish. A lot of kitchen sink stuff has the silver stainless steel looking finish & is slightly magnetic like almost all stainless steel, but are just die cast underneath. Again, destructive testing is used: I hammer, die cast crumbles, but if brass, split will show yellow & stainless steel is very tough. The fake Al would be all the pot metal out there, 100% non-magnetic. Best example is red fire alarm case. Usually I can tell difference because pot metal more dense.
Been wearing a pair of these Schwer gloves,I think they use them in the meat processing business,maximum cut resistance,far and away the best gloves I’ve ever owned and I’m an old man been working in the trades my whole life and these things still don’t even have a single hole in them check some out.
Do t use the plasma cutter on the compressors. The hire and heat will melt the plastic dividers to the copper. Use an angle grinder to cut them open. Its more tedious but it saves the headaches.
I wonder what year they started replacing transformers with the aluminum coils. Because some of them look sooo old. But I guess it could be from getting hot then cold everyday for a few years. But still would like to know how long are they supposed to last before replacement? A year? 5 years?
I think it depends on the condition and location. I've seen old fixtures with the original transformers in the same parking lot as ones with new aluminum ones.
might just need a new gopro or the camera that matt from demoranch its a sony hand camera of some kind i dont know the exact model he says its "pretty cheap" but goes thru multiple in a year so idk how good it is

Why are you cooking the rotors in the kiln?
To get rid of the epoxy holding them in. He'd yank them out but some of them won't budge even using hydraulic force.
Makes it easier to remove the copper.
What do you do with the armitures?
Sell as electric motors.
