for the first time it feels like ganondorf isnt messing around and knows he has to go all out. my jaw freaking dropped when his health bar started growing WAY past the normal limit.
I love how they didnt just make each hit take away less of the regular health bar but instead just straight up made it cover the entire screen.
I'm also surprised by the fact that he can DODGE roll. No other enemy in BOTW or TOTK dodge rolled. Every other boss just takes the hit. It reminds you of the fact that Ganondorf himself is skilled, and just because you did dodge roll doesn't mean you necessarily get a free hit.
"That's not funny." -Me watching that ridiculous health bar extend.
@@Exl6243 would've been funny if he could parry with his katana too
Bro same
Link: Increases his maximum health, switches weapons on the fly, dodges and flurry rushes

except he cant use glitches
It would have been funny if ganondorf could pause time to eat 88 apples lmao
BUT CAN HE DO THIIIIIIS [uses a shield]

@@SVD63Ninja I didn't know how to counter gloom attacks when I first played this fight, so just imagine the sheer shock in my expression when he two-tapped my blue diamond durability up Hylian Shield
The fact that he can flurry rush YOUR flurry rushes surprised the hell outta me in game 😅
It scared me the first time.
Then you can flurry rush that flurry rush 💀
I thoght he gonna mikiri counter me
@@cardboardking577 then he can flurry rush that flurry rush after being flurry rushed💀💀
@@andrewpeutherer unfortunately he can't 😔
I love how ganondorf in this game is more prideful and arrogant than any other version. Hes powerful and he knows it.
This is just me, but, I feel like he talked about his power too much but didn’t show it as much. He’s capable of summoning an army that can flatten Hyrule but never does.
I enjoyed the quiet, brutal confidence of Ganondorf from Twilight Princess. He’s big, bad, and knows it…and shows it.
He reminds me a lot of demise
@@morgan.mccandlessspoilers for anyone who hasn’t played Skyward Sword
Since Ganondorf is the reincarnation of Demise, that makes a lot of sense
@@Nebulae.incarnateI think he already made a spectacle of his power at the beginning when he broke the master sword and mortally wounded link. What I would have liked to see more is Link’s power. He should have tried his same attack at the beginning of the game, then Link should have used his revitalized master sword to cut through it.
You know it’s badass time when Nintendo extends the HP bar off centre.
Such a great reveal
I kinda cringed and laughed out loud to that. Just seemed odd lol
I think it’s intentional to add some sort of emphasis to his strength
Better start grinding like I’m literally serious
(Do not look away) I don’t think anybody is going to look away from that Health bar Gannon Dorf
This legit feels like what the devs wanted to do with twilight princess Ganondorf. Yes he keeps that slow menacing approach only he doesn’t just stand and let you hit him he comes right at and the voice clips that play as he hits you or you take too long too hit him. This is the final Ganondorf boss we needed
i got vergil flashbacks from this fight lol,the menacing walk
I think this might objectively be the best final boss in the zelda series. The buildup, the tension, the music, the difficulty, the flurry rushing of your flurry rushes, the giant health bar they gave him for no reason at all, the aerial sky battle, everything was just so good.
I also love how he will just casually say “DIE!” To Link while doing a move. I really like how he talks during the actual fight
Dang reading this months after the game's release really makes me wish this was true. It's everything Twilight Princess Ganondorf wanted to be but also not at the same time. He was more prominent in this game but also not at the same time as he was significantly more prominent in the first game, which is surprisingly considering the fact that this is Ganondorf and not just 'Calamity Ganon'. The entire Imprisoning War is just a single battle and anything related to rebuilding Hyrule is nonexistent with a reused story mechanic for the MAIN villain, which doesn't even show us his backstory, unlike Ocarina of Time's Ganondorf which had stretched out lore between three timelines that fans carefully crafted by themselves because the story on his side was lacking. (And to be fair the story between the three is rather good between Windwaker's kind of just tired of everything attitude, Twilight Princess' vengeful, and more powerful Ganondorf.
And of-course the one in which Breath of the Wild's Ganon is based on being the more beasty, mindless creature.)
Tears of the Kingdom however lacks any motivation or backstory besides what we already had with Ocarina of Time with the Son of the Gerudo every 100 years already being granted power. That's quite literally it. We don't know if he faced oppression, or any aggression towards his kind. Presumably not because the ancient Gerudo back then were sort of just chillin' with the Zonai. So all we have is a corrupt tyrant with zero backstory, and a two phase boss fight before a copy and paste cinematic boss fight with yet another mindless 'Ganon'. Seem familiar? Right. The Demon Dragon is literally just Calamity Ganon. A mindless, hate incarnate beast with weak points which was most literally just copied and pasted in the EXACT same spot on the map, just in the air obviously. Not to mention the fight prior literally takes place in a stinky old overgrown basement with some wood infested with Mali-- sorry, I mean Gloom. Which sounds way goofier than 'Malice' in my opinion. Not to mention most of the entire 'sequel' part of the game is missing but that'd take an entire reply to cover.
The fight against the Demon King doesn't happen in a flooding kingdom on top of Hyrule Castle itself, on in Hyrule Castle and then in Hyrule field, or on top of the castle which Ganondorf has claimed for himself -- no. None of those.
It's a smelly basement and we don't even get to fight a mummified Ganondorf as a first phase, and no, Phantom Ganon doesn't count. Mummified Ganondorf with his eyes lit as a second phase would've been sick, and then we could've fought an even stronger base Ganondorf who could have used perhaps, martial arts tied into training in his nonexistent backstory? Or perhaps, some sort of Gerudo techniques, or even better... Magic as a Warlock, but unfortunately he lacks magic entirely besides the Gloom Clone of Zelda he was able to make before he got the Secret Stone, which again, we have no context as to how he made that clone in the first place since he didn't even have Gloom abilities before that.
Ganondorf has all this malice and gloom inside of him before he gets the secret stone and it's just unexplained. Is he just an angry person, or did Rauru do something awful to him?
Perhaps the development team was just rushed. But that's the thing. It could've been fixed with DLC, but they decided against it. They say they've done everything they've wanted to do. Which concludes this as: bare minimum laziness.
Anyway to continue the boss portion of the discussion, then we could've had an even stronger and balanced fight against Demon King Ganondorf, y'know, the fight hyped up forever across five cutscenes of the same miniature battle for some reason recognized as a war. (We just won't mention the huge army that Ganondorf summoned that clearly eclipsed the world in a memory, nope, that army and the horse he had is just gone. The huge Gloom swipe he did with his spear? Gone.)
Not does the 'Imprisoning War' also take place in some musty basement of ruins, but it has almost no context as to how everyone got there and survived against the army and MASSIVE Blood Moon.
It wouldn't have been filler like Twilight Princess' Ganondorf somewhat was, it would've upped the difficulty slowly, since most, if not all players had already over prepared for Calamity Ganon in the previous game, they should've taken that data and used it for Tears and upped the difficulty. And I'm not talking about Soulsborne which is the usual misconception when someone says 'up the difficulty' for Demon King Ganondorf, I'm talking about just balancing it for a 'final 'fight'. You lose the fight? You retry. That's just what a game is. You can say it ruins the cinematography of a final battle, but it makes it feel all the better when you succeed, especially if you come back after maybe doing a shrine or two, or getting a powered up Master Sword. (Bathed in light for eons only to be weaker than the first game's master sword just for the same of fusing a bokoblin horn on the top, I guess.)
Or perhaps getting a legendary armor set or... I don't know. Something Zelda-y, even if this is supposed to deviate from other Zeldas, it simply lacks flagship product, Triforce cliches, etc.
Thank you for coming to my ZEL talk.
Forgot to mention this because it would've taken up too much space of the already long reply: But not having us use our abilities AGAIN against the final boss is an actual felony. The fact that there isn't an Ultrahand or other segment of the boss fight that uses Link's abilities is awful, much like Calamity Ganon had no mechanics unlike Thunderblight did with his magnesis segment. (Flurry rush does not count, that's just a general gameplay ability.)
Demon King Ganondorf is not only just a boss you can spam a lynel horn on and kill quite easily, but a boss you can just mindlessly hit and defeat with no thought or mechanic. (You can easily get a overpowered Lynel Fusion from the Lynel they literally supply you with right before this fight, not to mention the hordes of fusion they give you with the army, which is arguably harder than Big G. himself which is honestly weird in its own right, especially since the same happened with Calamity Ganon.)
What makes this all the more funnier is that just like with the first game, if you don't defeat any of the bosses and go straight to Demon King Ganondorf glitchless, his army and bosses are much harder than him, and I honestly like that they brought that gatekeeping system back from the first game, but it's still laughable that Colgera can kill you faster than he can, especially in the much more difficult Gloom Arena which restricts mobility. Not even going to talk about Mucktorok or Gohma which are even harder and almost impossible to defeat. And of-course Queen Gibson which is perhaps the scariest boss in the game in the gloom arena.
All of these leading up to Demon King Ganondorf makes him look significantly more bearable than they were, even when fighting all of his clones at once he is almost predictable if you were good enough to make it past the bosses. (We're not going to count your weapons breaking, since that just carries over from anything, and can be avoided just by raiding Hyrule Castle once and fusing.)
Anyway to sum it up it's weirdly funny that Demon King Ganondorf is weaker than his minions. It was more under stable with Calamity Ganon, but Demon King Ganondorf has no excuse.
Objectivley the best final boss in any 3D Zelda game that's for sure. I always find the majority of Ganon fights underwhelming honestly and pretty disappointing but definitely not this one. That being said, I still think NO final bosses even come close to Ganon in A Link to The Past
The funniest part is where you think the health bar is gonna be normal but it just slowly glitches off screen.
when his health bar kept going i legit almost pissed myself lol xD then his own flurry rush to counter mine!!!
thats not a glitch what are you talking about
@@Vivid1K Not what he said.

@@Vivid1K No, what they really meant is that it was something of abnormality like if it actually was glitching.
6 years of BotW and this games, and I still can't time flurry rush dodges
The theme for his first phase’s intro (when he regains his og body) is so freaking raw I need it
fr same!! someone tell us the name of the OST!
@@andrewpeutherer ganondorfs theme.
What shook me the most is that he does so much damage to the point where he can EASILY break the Hylian Shield, the strongest shield in the game
I think the better question is why were you trying to "shield" his attacks in the first place? You can literally flurry rush all of his melee attacks. Even if he does hit you, if you actually put the time into leveling up your clothing, he does very little damage.
@@nahor88well the second phase there's a part where u can't do flurry rush so
@@D3ad._Hiroshi Worth mentioning as well that by this point you should have an absolute arsenal of attack constructs available in your autobuild... honestly if anyone actually struggled in this fight, they didn't spend nearly enough time exploring and fighting monsters. The game INTENDS for you to do that, so if you flout it it's your own fault.
@nahor88 I think what these people are saying is they are just dueling without any help from zonai devices. I’m sure that most of these people are thinking you are also doing the same. Plus it is truly hard to get a perfect flurry rush or part every time because his attacks are slow at times and fast at others. So try beating him without zonai stuff and tell me how you feel.
@@nahor88 a question, this is not meant to offend you or anything, it's just a question , Why should i have those things in my autobuild?
I like that you used weaker weapons to make the fight actually last a while. You get to see all his different attacks.
I did this once. I've learnt he does attacks more viciously when you're up close to him for too long. I just thought this info was interesting to bring up.
Dude, I actually struggled with this fight. I was down to my last heart with no more sun-based meals and he was down to his last sliver of health (2nd phase). It was either I nailed the back-to-back flurry rush or I was dead. It. Was. AMAZING. This is what Zelda needed: a final boss fight that was actually challenging. I loved every bit of this.
I had a similar situation in my first fight, 1 heart vs one inch of health, it was so intense
idk about challenging, just flurry rush simulator. definitely has that grandiose 1v1 feel that final bosses from games like twilight princess, skyward sword, and wind waker had though
fr tho, I was just seeing how I failed to counter his attacks watching my hearts disappear one by one, after i reached 1 heart, it was just links courage and link himself, it was too epic, I remember finally timing a parry to deal that finishing blow
I beat him on my first try 💀
@@ClareAmel You're right, I wouldn't call it challenging either. Fighting a gleeok with no easy way to reach a high point is WAY, WAY harder. People that had trouble with this fight are either babied zoomers, or those that just rushed to face him without doing the proper leveling up of stamina and hearts/clothing.
Gorgeous moment when he goes to rip out the stone from his head and OOT's final boss music slides in just before dialling it back.. just perfect!
It was crazy fighting a genuinely challenging boss in a Zelda game. I’m so used to Zelda bosses being a pushover, but I only had like 5 hearts left when I beat this guy.
This game’s combat is incredible, it’s a shame that most of the enemies are pushovers. (This, Gleeoks, and Lynels are exceptions)
Even gleeoks are easy if you cheese them with keese eyes, and lynels telegraph for years. Though I suppose that's what you're supposed to do with enemies: learn their attacks and counter accordingly.
Okay ss demise tho
Gleeoks are one of the easiest in the whole game. There is an odd weak point where you can easily see and hit them while they try but cannot hit you. Just stand there and take them out trivially. ❤
Either that’s a giant health bar or he’s just happy to see us.
I absolutely love how he can straight up ruin your max hp. The second i got hit with that the first time just made me flip my shit. It was absolutely serious
Most attacks: reduces your health
Gloom attacks: breaks your health (until restored via light)
Demon King attacks: erases your health
For a moment there I thought his health bar was about to grow off the screen.
Moments before disaster.
When the health bar starts refilling….and then goes to the edge of the screen. The vibrations in the atmosphere around him when he takes the next step.
they absolutely knew people would be stockpiling sundelion dishes for this fight, thought i was so slick until i got hit by the flame attacks and the heart shattered for good.
Ganon the unkillable zelda boss. He'll be back in the next game to 😂
Ganon** Ganondorf is just a male gerrudo possessed by Ganon which is born every 1000 years, Ganon can't be killed, only suppressed until the next hero emerges
@@godofsin4604 its 100 right i remember in a memory a male gurudo is born every 100 years
if its 100 or a thousand then why isnt there 2 ganons, especially if this is the one from the first hyrule
Because ganondorf is still alive. Demise’s curse chose him as the vessel, so if another gerudo male was born he’d probably just be a gerudo king and not an incarnation of ganon

Ganondorf is actually the only character in totk to be fully voice acted
The one fight where both Ganondorf and Link have ever found their equal. (Yes link lost but it was like 30 guardians)
To be fair link beat a guardian with a pot lit canonically
Link: How many times I have to deal with you, Old Man!
Ganondorf: Hold on, Link!
Zelda: 🤦🏻
I just beat him for the first time. I didn't die once, but I also came stocked to the gills with sunny dishes which really helped. I love the theme music in the second phase that sounds like a dramatic mashup of the OOT Ganondorf fight theme and the Wind Waker Phantom Ganon theme. Great final battle I'd say
Fun Fact: the start of the Master of The Secret stone Ganon fight theme is the same as the one where you played ping pong with Ganon in OOT
How did I not notice this while fighting him?
Likewise, his Demon Army theme has some references to his theme in A Link to the Past
And similarly just before he rips the stone off his head is the final boss theme from the same game!
The CHILLS, man!!! Literally BONKERS presentation!!! Best game of all time!!!!!

A couple days after release of tears of the kingdom and people just beat it in one day. Its unbelievable how some people can beat this in like 1 day
i’m about to beat it today and i had it for almost a week but one day is crazy and i did a lot of shrines for max stamina and all the skyview towers
It was leaked obviously. They just never shared the video until release
Ive only done 2 temples.. Have 8 hearts and have like 20% of the game beat and I'm already here...accidentally. If i knew the war in the depths was going to lead me here I would have left. That second part where he dodges our flurry rush was hard. I was being desperate at some point, but I found out that you can perfect parry his attacks as long as you have a shield. When you do so you have a few seconds to hit him, like 4 to 5 times in a row.
The fight is fun but I don’t like how you can’t leave, I used all of my sunny (gloom heal) food on the army but I couldn’t go up to the surface to get more sundelions and I only got to the third phase once. But it is kind of a skill issue on my part

Now that the original test fight footage from Nintendo Space World 2000 has been found, I've only just realized... is his taunt in his 3rd phase a callback to that footage? I don't remember him doing that specific taunt since. 😳
The funny thing is that I went into the chasm and completed everything unknowingly walking into the final battle. I didnt realise this chasm lead to Ganondorf and I even killed the Lynel and everything
I absolutely lost my mind when his healthbar kept going
when i tell you i shit my pants when his health bar just KEPT GOING???
Did it for the first time yesterday without looking at any of the videos and barely made it out alive using arrows in the last stage. His counter attacks really caught me by surprise.
I soon realized that the strategy to this is to flurry rush his attack after he sends the gloom things that take away your hearts permanently, and then when he backflips you prepare for a fast attack with whatever weapon he has. With a spear, it's obviously a side hop, with a club, it's a backflip, and with the sword you can tell what attack he's going to do by the way he holds it.
Shirrako
You are not bad at using the Dodge
When I fought him the first time, he was able to break my Hylian Shield, and I died shortly after. They really did a good job making this bossfight.

Felon dragon's health bat should have covered the entire top screen. Like why does it go back down? Does he get weaker?
for gett consistent flurrys on him, when he slows down his movement dodge. your welcome
Perhaps I'm just used to soulsborne combat, but it looks odd that the boss barely uses any follow-up moves to his attacks. He does one attack, you dodge + counter him with the time-slowdown thing, he jumps back, rinse and repeat. Would've been interesting if he had some multi hit combos at least.
Yea, i just beat elden ring a week ago, now i'm looking at ganondorf's moves it looks pretty easy and lowkey lame
I agree. Ganondorf does not look very aggressive, it's easy to dodge and use flurry Rush, and the music here is just okay. The combat in Zelda games has always been okay at best.
I thought, Demise wasn't aggressive in Zelda skyward sword because of motion control , ganondorf should be aggressive where he'll kill link instant, not just waiting for link to attack I remember Zelda twilight princess ganondorf dodge many attacks from link
I can forgive them for making this easy so they can keep as many audience as possible without overwhelming them too much. After all, we must give the future generation who never plays souls games their first gaming moments of overcoming a very intimidating boss with an extra extra long health bar! I think you understand what I mean, hehe. But for the fans, they must make a hard version of this fight and then somehow disable any bullet times so it becomes a true souls-like battle. :P

Godfrey is heroic and fights with honor despite you killing his son Gannon just hates everything
I didn't know you had to flurry rush him twice in order to deal him damage, so I parried him until he died
Only thing that would have made that transformation scene more epic is he had walked through flames at the end of it lol.
