Hey HEAY we have a Cadillac CTS for our Noon-day, Lunch bunch, uppercut, with me: DJ Double Lunch! It's a car for your EX WIFE! Car provided by Instagram user: robertcary7
My gf got annoyed with me while I was watching this one. She was like: omg... That guy is so annoying. But I know she's wrong. I love you Mr. Regular (not her)
I know it's 2024 now BUT we purchased both a 2001 & 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue for 4k total- mint condition less than 90k miles on each brand new condition. Beat up Cadillac CTS of the same Era are high mileage, smell like black & milds, Newport cigarettes & marijuana.
This video made me a tad depressed yet at peace that this is what I have to look forward to; a low level luxury car and an open road. I will work an office job, and I will feel content but never satisfied. I have a wife, two kids and an expensive house. My wife is getting on in years and my kids rarely talk to me. My friends are the people I've met through work, and yet they are not really people I can confide in. I long for the open road, a place where I can experience total freedom knowing nothing about the troubles of the world, only the car I'm in and the road I'm on. It is a warm summer day, and the sun is shining down on the slick leather interior. The subtle movement the car makes relaxes me as I drive on; free of fear and sorrow. The car represents the life I thought I could live in my twenties and the life I longed for my fifties. However, the car drives on for time eternal, and I crack a smile, realizing that this is what I will live for.
Ha I drive a Cadillac STS 4.6l Northstar V8! I used to own a Cadillac CTS V6 but the STS was so much better with more HP and more Torque then any of the sedans that weren’t V-series at the time. With 320 hp and 315 ft-lbs torque. Beat that V6
This is the video when people without a sense of humor are finally pushed over the edge, unsubscribe and yet still think this was a serious car review channel. I laughed my ass off during the majority of this video.
I was honestly surprised this is a 2003 car, it looks almost exactly the same as the current Cadillac's. I guess this is yet another reason why oldies love them so much.
It has the Ford Focus problem where the original car had a really strong distinctive design and then they just water it down with every model change. (EU spec Focus though, the first gen US car had all sorts of weird junk tacked on).
I just bought a 2004 with 70k miles and it was a garage car with one owner and a clean title/carfax. I love the dam thing, I'm only 26 years old but this gave me the option of owning a sort of luxury car for 6.5k when a Lexus or Mercedes of similar milage cost 13- 18k if not more if it's a newer year.. parts are easier to find and cheaper too.... but sadly like all luxury cars it has alot of electronics to go wrong and replacing a sparkplug takes 4 times longer then normal but other then that this thing is beautiful and sounds amazingly quiet for a 3.6L engine way back in 04. It's a very smooth ride, not quite Mercedes smooth but still very good considering it cost 30-50% (used car) of a Mercedes. Maybe I'm being biased but I honestly love the my CTS and the CTS was the only reliable Cadillac that year ( the 3.6L one not the 3.2L..... the 3.2 was trash even the CTS-V in 04 was full of problems until next generation came out) but because all the other makes and models sucked the resale value plummeted on all Cadillacs even the nice reliable ones.... sucks for Cadillac but good for me I guess because otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford this gem.
North Side Pittsburgh, Can confirm. A good description of ahr tahn 'nat. Pretty good fir a guy from Eastern PA -I'd buy that jagoff an Ahrn, but I'd be diplomatic and git 'm a Yuengling.
The more I watch the videos the more I start thinking that Mr. Regular explores humanity through the cars of the average person, they reviews and funny characters are only for the sake of entertainment(which I very much enjoy). Please keep updating Mr. Regular.
Okay, lemme explain the gist of this review: Pretty much every lame-ass WACKY local radio station gave used Caddies away. It was the only, ahem... fancy(ish) car they could afford.
Welcome to regular car reviews. The only channel that will review a car without telling you anything about the car they're reviewing. Actually love this shit keep it up.
"A good man is like a small town - quaint, principled, hard-working and dedicated to the notion that it will all pay off, and maybe it will someday" Excellent writing, Mr. Regular, not to mention the showcase of your radio jockeying roots! Thoroughly enjoyed it :)
My ability to appreciate Pittsburgh was overshadowed by my excitement to hear you talk about the V6 CTS, of which I know little. I heard/noticed all of the facts and metaphors brought to attention, and yet I somehow missed all of them at the same time. by the 5:40 mark, I had forgotten all of them and was increasingly worried that this would be a Regular Car Owner Review again and you wouldn't really talk about the car. You had already talked about the car. I was so preoccupied anticipating a certain "middle" or "bulk" of this video, and because of that, it seemed to end just as it was beginning. I guess deep down I just wanted to hear more car facts and driving impressions because I like it when you (_you_) talk about that stuff. Was this a bad video because of that? No. But did I enjoy it? .....actually yea. I still did. Keep doin' what you're doin'. I'll see you in 2015 for more "regular car reviews."
TheCrewGaming2013 Rio356 Yup just search car meet anthrocon on Furaffinity. In Mr Regular's gravelly voice: "I bought a Volvo estate cos the trunk's big enough to go dogging dressed as my fursona, a gender fluid rainbow wolf that likes to change orientation faster than the 5 speed gearbox can."
I would put you guys on Regular car reviews on a similar vein as when I saw Bill Hicks. You are articulating some very incisive and reflective parts of society the shiity life. While some wouldn't understand the Bill Hicks roaring down a mic explaining Goatboy you are on the right track with this.
I have a 03 xtiv. It’s on a CTS body and it has 102,000 miles on it. It’s a v6 but looks like a v8 bc as you said 03 only came out with v6. It’s clean and looks good. Still has the stickers on the seats. It’s kinda worth a review
Pittsburgh is always here waiting! (You forgot the "h" on the end with Pittsburg Man!) This one was awesome, and I'm looking forward to so many more reviews!
I just can't get into late-model Cadillacs.. no mater how 'M3-beating' the new ATS-V is supposed to be or how, "We make good cars now, honest." They keep promising and promising, I will never be able to share my heart with a new Cadillac until they kill 'Art and Science'. Not that there's anything objectively wrong with the Art and Science design language, or even terribly much subjectively wrong with it. It's just.. I remember my first experience with the Art and Science design style, it was a commercial on TV that was supposed to get us all Excited for the brand.. like how 'this is not your Father's Oldsmobile' was supposed to get us excited for Olds but ended up alienating anyone and everyone who had even the faintest interest in that brand before it went on the chopping-block? The set-up was simple. Old Cadillac driving down the road, then it gets overtaken by New Cadillac. Old and Busted vs. New Hotness. Fine and good, sure.. but playing the part of Old and Busted wasn't the previous lack-luster generation of Cadillacs (that would be tantamount to admitting they were a Mistake), but a classic Caddy from the 1950s (Because OLD!-LOL!) which were arguably some of the most handsome cars ever to be sold to the public in North America if not the world. For this, Art and Science, I'm sorry but there can be no forgiveness.
awesomeologyism It gets worse.Cadillac's new 'Branding Strategists' are saying they wanna become known, "Not as a Car company, but as a Luxury Brand that happens to sell cars."This comes top-down from the new top guy at Cadillac.. who was Fired from BMW and then went to work selling over-priced pens before getting the Cadillac top-seat.
I actually own a V8 STS, RWD generation, but like y'all, I really want a true Cadillac. I'm talking RWD Fleetwood like the old B-body and D-body. Put a 400 HP motor in it, to start, make it ride like it should (they're not meant to drive the 'Ring, they're meant to go from Topeka to Reno in one very comfy shot), put a 2-door version out there for my PERSONAL LUXURY COUPE -addiction-...um...desires, and style with without using a straightedge for Every. Single. Line. Once Cadillac went to FWD, they pretty much lost me. Then the angular thing with the CTS... Sigh.... The '05 STS I have is as angular as I can tolerate, and it took me a while after its release to not dislike it. A luxury Cadillac should be akin to driving your living room, period. AND STOP USING "NAMES" LIKE ATS/CTS/XTS!!!!!!! Names, morons, not three letters. You're not BMW/Mercedes, much like Lincoln is not.
Cool Cadillac Cat Cadillac hasn't produced 'Proper' Cadillacs since the 80's. Granted, one may argue those last ones weren't 'best of breed', but they were still Proper Cadillacs. A Proper Cadillac should be large, spacious, effortless, comfortable and just a little bit vulgar. Driving a Cadillac should feel like a treat in the same way that eating a whole bag of Lindor truffles should.
Leslie48 , I wholeheartedly agree!!!! My first was a '73 Coupe deVille back in the mid-90's. Yellow, and a few inches longer than a Suburban. 472 CID motor and 8 MPG. Meh. I miss that beast. Next was early-aughts, an '85 Fleetwood Bro-ham d'Elegance. HT-4100, but already rebuilt, so besides being *_horribly_* slow, it was fine. Cushy, comfy, could carry six people easily, and it was a relatively small one. I still want a '94-'96 D-body...just have to find the right one. Oh, and I really want a '61 convertible, but that's unlikely to happen. A '62 would work, too. Skeg fins...FTW!!!! edit: Besides minor trim changes, the 1991 Fleetwood Brougham was effective the same car as the 1977 one.
Why are these ridiculous RCR videos so goddam good and poignant? The later half actually made me misty. Little skimpy on the car content, but I can handle that. Well done young men.
All of you people complaining about "this is regular CAR reviews not CITY" and "this was an annoying video, where's the review" have obviously not seen some of mister Regular's first videos such as the rav 4 or the Lincoln town car (which this was referencing by the way) you think he's straying away from reviews? If anything, he's straying back to the first season. Not trying to start anything here, just felt I should point that out. Have a nice day.
XD exactly. I worked for a few days in Pittsburgh and their freeways have the shittiest set up I've ever seen. I live near Philly and I thought we had bad highways
Thanks Mr. Regular. As a Pittsburgh guy, I enjoyed the video a lot. Great shots of our great city here, another great video. The CTS will always be a good car, one of my former coaches had a similar one my freshman and sophomore years.
An 80's Lincoln wagon, with seats in the back that faced to the rear of the car. An 80's Buick Skylark my mom used to run around to get the things the family needed to live. We went on some family adventures in that Lincoln wagon. Then the Lincoln was replaced with an Ford Aerostar. We drove all the way to Wyoming in that one. I still miss that van. My Aunt Mary had a 90 something van with the full hydraulic ramp for my uncle's wheelchair. It had a bench seat against one of the walls of the van, so you could fit the ramps/ the wheelchair, but still have passengers. We went from Ohio to Florida in that thing. It's weird riding sideways in a vehicle moving forward. My old man got a 93 and a 90 something Windstar. I learned to drive on a mid-90's Windstar back int about 2004. I miss having a minivan.
I've been to Pittsburgh now 8 times, once as a kid. 7 other times in the past 7 years. ConVENTions~ Might go again this year. But every time I go to that city, it's like, coming back home, yet I've never lived there. It's home, away from home. It's like that vacation house you never really set foot in because you don't want to actually live there, you just want to visit it often enough to know it exists and everything is as grandiose as it used to be before, if not better. If you spend too long there, you might burn out eventually. That's what Pittsburgh is to me. It's a vacation home. I love it, but I don't think I could afford to live there nor should I, even if I want to. It's more worth it to visit, to see it explode happiness, rather than it fade out to boredom.
I enjoyed this one. The end of a road trip is always bitter sweet. As a kid, when I used to go on road trips, I always used to stare out the window and be somewhat relaxed finding out what else there was out there, if I wasn't asleep. A very good review, thank you, for being out there and telling it like it is.
To be correct, CD players weren't and still aren't obsolete. They remain the best way to get high quality audio out of your car's radio. Us humans just want something simpler and more convenient.
I just wanna say thank you to mr regular. I love your videos but up until now I’ve never had a video speak to me in such a way as the ending monologue of this one. You sir are an artisan and I hope to see more of you in 2020.
Thank you for this journey across the US to bring us one of the most entertaining car content we've ever seen. Thank you for all of the weird facts, thank you for honest opinions, and thank you for violent poop jokes. Keep doing what you're doing, Mr. Regular
This video made me want to get a cheap CTS V6 and LS swap it...because why pay 3-4 times as much for a car with a $1,000 engine that you plan to beat on like you hate it...because reasons and stuff.
Tumbleweed Folf They didn't make a wagon in this cheaper older bodystyle. The wagon bodystyle is too expensive still even with a V6 it costs as much as a used 1st gen CTS-V sedan with a N/A LS6/LS2.
Tad Ghostal The point of my statement is that it would be substantially cheaper to buy a $2,000-4,000 V6 1st gen CTS and LS swap it than paying $16,000-20,000+ for used 1st gen CTS-V. Especially when I would just hammer the crap out of it.
It takes some living, some life experience to know that the going there can be more satisfying then the getting there and the journey yields more than the destination (and that's why the group is called JOURNEY and not DESTINATION!)
Damn, that engine looked pretty legit. Longitudinally mounted, that badass intake coming right out the front with twin throttle bodies, twin cams, and VVT on the intake. Wow, wasn't expecting that.
Jigga Esqueda buy a Honda prelude and bring it to Pennsylvania for him to review, prelude owners aren't just throwing their keys at him to review their rides
Not the greatest ever , if i bought a prelude I wouldn't need his review So prelude owners aren't throwing their keys at him but ,s2000, Evo, Focus ST, ferrari , Challenger srt, Audi R8 etc. owners are?
Morning Mr.Regular, I own a 1972 Chevy Nova with a hand built 350. It's currently in winter lockup but it would be awesome if you were to come to Connecticut in the spring to review it!
This car was so heinous when it first came out in 2003. In 2019, it's surprising to see one of these still running and that the styling has aged as well as it has
when are you coming back to Pittsburgh? we'll all still be here, so timing doesn't really matter... cause none of us ever leave... just curious, also still have a GTO and CR-V if you want to review them.
I actually have the 3.2 its not too bad, not too pretty, kinda quick for what it is. But even though its mechanically sound it has electrical issues. But its a fun first car.
For everyone saying that this review was worst review, it’s more about the road trip and the attitude that the car emits and the stereotypes people put on the drivers. It’s just the style of the review, and it’s just fine.
Somehow Regular has always done a review for any car I'm looking at buying, down to the year. This is your oldest video I've seen by far and I gotta say I think the new videos need more crawling around in the woods and the DJ needs to return to grace 2022 with his 03 energy.
4:10 I get it! My old family vehicle for the first big chunk of my childhood was a Ford Aerostar! Just look around and see if you can find one! I have seen three since we replaced ours with a mercury mountaineer! My dad replaced the steering column in it four times and when we traded it off you had to shift with a pair of vice grips! I'm still nostalgic for it even though I know it's garbage! The mercury mountaineer that replaced it however as far as I knew was a brilliantly reliable thing! To this day I would like to have one!
My family had a '95 Eldorado that I remember really liking. At some point the transmission started *banging* in certain gear shifts but nobody would believe me and said it was fine. A month after we sold it the transmission exploded at speed on the new owner and I was somewhat vindicated.
This channel is one of the best on UA-cam. You guys should review a ford edge, I'm thinking about getting one, was wondering your opinion of the vehicle.
*i was actually born 120 miles N/E of Pittsburg in a small College town called Clarion it's not exactly "home" that title actually goes to a tiny one hprse little town 10 minutes to the South of clarion called Rimersburg*
Cadillac CTS: The official Skyline GTR R34's replacement that you see in Rockport's Car dealership rotting away, because it wasn't never driven by someone's of the 15 drivers of the blacklist.
FYI the cts was made in '03 but badged as a '04. If you ever come to Michigan I've got a 1992 Seville Sts you could review, I think it would be very funny.
"There's no greater aphrodisiac to a cynic than the words 'Keep doing what you're doing.'" I'm going to have to sit and think about that one for a while.

My wife just said the other day, “who is that guy? His voice is really annoying”. Haha
Are you still dating her?
This one is kinda annoying if you didnt know who he was.
There are two kinds of local radio DJ's: Those who drive Cadillacs, and those who want to drive Cadillacs.

Have a nice day.
i thought gt 40 is an old car and gt is the new one
You're right. Mr Regular probably mixed them up
OhMyKMPR Indeed. That was a Ford GT
Exactly. Gt40 is legit. Gt is bleh.
They are both legit. The GT40 was an amazing race car. The GT is fords homage to the legendary beast.
@@charlieanddadreviewsandcha2243 homage with AC. If it needs AC, it's not legit.
I'm sure someone actually bought up that domain.
Naveek Darkroom it's real

When I finally end up in an Eat N Park graveyard, Don't leave flowers, Just Cole Slaw and a Super Burger.
I love the radio DJ review, fucking Amazing!
Daym, for something that came out in '03, it looks pretty damn fresh tbh
Pittsburgh; you're in the left lane and need to get over 3 lanes of gridlocked traffic to make your exit. here's 200 feet, make it happen.
XD exactly. I worked for a few days in Pittsburgh and their freeways have the shittiest set up I've ever seen. I live near Philly and I thought we had bad highways
i have a subaru svx he could review! look it up, its become quite the cult car.
rare but surprisingly moddable for little money.
Was it your car he reviewed?
Thanks Mr. Regular. As a Pittsburgh guy, I enjoyed the video a lot. Great shots of our great city here, another great video. The CTS will always be a good car, one of my former coaches had a similar one my freshman and sophomore years.
1:44 Every other city: 47 degrees
Frackville: *N I N E*
There's also Summit Station (51 F) and Tower City (48 F)
Oh my, Regular, you're the best as always. Please never start taking meds.
I was listening to this thinking "man this sure sounds like my local rock radio" and then I realized that it pretty much is
you're growing on me. it takes a couple of videos to get into your brainwave. once there, it just flows.
Does Mr. Regular try purposefully to imitate Plinkett?
I enjoyed this one. The end of a road trip is always bitter sweet. As a kid, when I used to go on road trips, I always used to stare out the window and be somewhat relaxed finding out what else there was out there, if I wasn't asleep. A very good review, thank you, for being out there and telling it like it is.
That eat-n-park is literally like 15 minutes from my house and I just drove past it 30 mins ago and now this feels oddly closer and more relevant lmao
I periodically come back to 5:40 to 6:47 for motivation. I'm not interested in a caddy at all, but this fundamentally speaks to me.
These are the greatest reviews on the internet. Not just cars, these are the greatest reviews of anything.
Being from Pittsburgh I loved the video. Also, laughed at the Homer city weather since I drive through that little town everyday going to work!
Thanks. I was actually considering buying one of these.
And I also pumped way too many quarters into Time Crisis.
Thank you for this journey across the US to bring us one of the most entertaining car content we've ever seen. Thank you for all of the weird facts, thank you for honest opinions, and thank you for violent poop jokes. Keep doing what you're doing, Mr. Regular
I had an 04 with the 5 speed. Loved that car... till all the electrics started going out
This video made me want to get a cheap CTS V6 and LS swap it...because why pay 3-4 times as much for a car with a $1,000 engine that you plan to beat on like you hate it...because reasons and stuff.
Well if because reasons why not get an old thrashed CTS wagon and do the same, because trollin'?
that would be fun, only problem is that the 03 cts is pretty damned close to 4000 pounds
Especially when I would just hammer the crap out of it.
hendo337 Because the CTS-V has a much better suspension on it. It's more than just a big motor.
If a radio host knew this much about the cts i would be surprised.
I love this channel. Found it while trying to find my first car. Still here a week later.
You know you're old when you are doing something risky and you say "my health insurance doesn't kick in until January".
It takes some living, some life experience to know that the going there can be more satisfying then the getting there and the journey yields more than the destination (and that's why the group is called JOURNEY and not DESTINATION!)
I have a 2006 CTS 3.6 liter 255HP it’s amazing 😉 to me it’s enough power for me and I just put 22inch Chrome Rims and Tires love it
Damn, that engine looked pretty legit. Longitudinally mounted, that badass intake coming right out the front with twin throttle bodies, twin cams, and VVT on the intake. Wow, wasn't expecting that.
Review the Honda prelude
Jigga Esqueda buy a Honda prelude and bring it to Pennsylvania for him to review, prelude owners aren't just throwing their keys at him to review their rides
Not the greatest ever , if i bought a prelude I wouldn't need his review
So prelude owners aren't throwing their keys at him but ,s2000, Evo, Focus ST, ferrari , Challenger srt, Audi R8 etc. owners are?
Jigga Esqueda I've got a stock 1999 Type SH Prelude Mr Regular can review if he ever comes to Texas
I submitted my stock 2000 prelude sh but I'm in Florida so we'll see lol
He did this one!
Morning Mr.Regular, I own a 1972 Chevy Nova with a hand built 350. It's currently in winter lockup but it would be awesome if you were to come to Connecticut in the spring to review it!
This car was so heinous when it first came out in 2003. In 2019, it's surprising to see one of these still running and that the styling has aged as well as it has
They way Cadillac has been going lately with that V's, this might be the last quintessential "Old man car".
I'm from Pittsburgh and everything you said about it is 100% true haha
The family car/dad monologue makes me want to go pour myself a manhattan, sit by the fire, huff some Hoppes 9, and ponder life.
when are you coming back to Pittsburgh? we'll all still be here, so timing doesn't really matter... cause none of us ever leave... just curious, also still have a GTO and CR-V if you want to review them.
this has as good as an introduction as the Chevy interceptor review!
TWO THOUSAND AND THREE CTS-V!!!!!
Six.
I actually have the 3.2 its not too bad, not too pretty, kinda quick for what it is. But even though its mechanically sound it has electrical issues. But its a fun first car.
HOLY SHEEP! THIS RADIO IDEA WAS QUALITY CHEESE, LOVE IT!
For everyone saying that this review was worst review, it’s more about the road trip and the attitude that the car emits and the stereotypes people put on the drivers. It’s just the style of the review, and it’s just fine.
I would listen to the radio once again in my car if this radio station actually exist
Man. That ending line really got to me. Why you gotta do me like this Mr. Regular
Totally channelling the ace man here...love it! Keep up the good work.
Nailed it on the Pittsburgh part, loved it
I would like to see "The Beer Belly" become an actual radio station, that is if it doesn't already exist.
Mr. Regular and The Roman, you just made my day! :-)
I always love your reviews of american cars!
Still waiting for DJ Double Lunch to make a return to RCR.
I lived in Pittsburgh for two years, for art school, between 1999 and 2001. I hated it so much.
I miss it so much.
Somehow Regular has always done a review for any car I'm looking at buying, down to the year. This is your oldest video I've seen by far and I gotta say I think the new videos need more crawling around in the woods and the DJ needs to return to grace 2022 with his 03 energy.
Australian, so a portion of this went over my head, but I loved the rest 😁
4:10 I get it! My old family vehicle for the first big chunk of my childhood was a Ford Aerostar! Just look around and see if you can find one! I have seen three since we replaced ours with a mercury mountaineer! My dad replaced the steering column in it four times and when we traded it off you had to shift with a pair of vice grips!
I'm still nostalgic for it even though I know it's garbage! The mercury mountaineer that replaced it however as far as I knew was a brilliantly reliable thing! To this day I would like to have one!
Probably my favorite review so far. XD Can the radio DJ return for future reviews, like Harold is going to? :D
My family had a '95 Eldorado that I remember really liking. At some point the transmission started *banging* in certain gear shifts but nobody would believe me and said it was fine. A month after we sold it the transmission exploded at speed on the new owner and I was somewhat vindicated.
Well, you can only expect that from a union built GM piece of shit, where making a quality product is not the main goal.
hey love the car reviews, you should review a cadillac deville from 2000-2005 its pretty much the last of the land yachts
This styling of this CTS actually looks quite good 11 years later.
Urban legend had it that penial warts were readily contracted in its back seat.
The Roman deserves a Grammy
This was actually very funny! Hello from Mother Russia!
"FRACKVILLE 9!"
I died at the JPRG reference. Because it looks like that
This channel is one of the best on UA-cam.
Cadillac CTS: The official Skyline GTR R34's replacement that you see in Rockport's Car dealership rotting away, because it wasn't never driven by someone's of the 15 drivers of the blacklist.
i like waking up in the morning to the sound of RegularCars growling voice (:
The PA weather bit, was great
FYI the cts was made in '03 but badged as a '04. If you ever come to Michigan I've got a 1992 Seville Sts you could review, I think it would be very funny.
"There's no greater aphrodisiac to a cynic than the words 'Keep doing what you're doing.'"
I'm going to have to sit and think about that one for a while.
