Does the virtual cab switch do anything if you're running to a standard cabinet or does it only function when you're running to a computer? (This may be a dumb question, and if it is I'm sorry)
The virtual cabinet is so you can plug it directly into a PA or recording interface…so you don’t have to have a speaker connected - all the computer does is help you set up the presets.
Ok, is this to be used through your computer speakers or audio interface or something? You guys didn't reference what you are listening to it through. Your fist video, the amp was using the cabinet for the load like usual. But what exactly are we suppose to use for the output when using the software? A good set of studio monitor speakers I am guessing? What are you using to showcase the cabinet and tone changes for this video?
You can use it through any powered speaker (PA Speaker or Studio Monitors) or headphones...or pretty much anything you could plug an iPod into...it’s just a line out from the back of the amp! The software is only needed if you want to change the virtual cabinets...but the presets are really good so there’s not even really much of a need to do that! I’m not exactly sure what speakers Alex has in his studio (it’s Gabor here) but in this video you don’t hear the sound of the studio monitors...what you hear is a direct signal from the amp...we go from the output on the back of the amp straight to his interface (UAD Apollo) and that goes straight into Logic...nothing else!! Hope that all made sense?!?
@@TSFAHTPS ok I think I got it. You are using the interface same as you would for Bias Effects and outputting directly or to a monitor speaker. Its too bad you can't make changes while using the amp head out into a 2x12 cabinet. The the virtual cabinet dial does absolutely nothing when playing traditionally into the amp and speaker out into a cabinet correct?
No it doesn’t...if you use it with a cabinet it’s just a normal valve amp. I think it meant to be a direct recording solution so you don’t have to use a speaker ...for example for silent recording at home. I used it a lot in a live band without a speaker connected a just going straight into the PA and my in ear monitors...and it sounds really good in my opinion!!
@@TSFAHTPS Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate it. I'm thinking I may be looking to sell my G20, given that I enjoy the live ambient tones a tube amp creates via a cabinet. Don't get me wrong, this amp sounds good but I can probably sell it and get two amp heads I've been eyeing for the price of the Revv G20.

I feel like there’s a step missing in all these videos. Is there something to do or press to actually get sound? I just got the G20 and cannot get audio from my computer.
@@TSFAHTPS My D20 is connected to usb port and I am not getting sound when I switch to Internal Load. My setup is guitar>amp> computer USB and the speaker cab is quiet when I play on internal load. Any insight as to what I'm doing wrong?
This is NOT an interface...the USB connection is only to control the cabinet software...no audio goes through the USB cable...you need to connect the “Balanced Output” on the back of the amp to your interface or monitors

@@t9899 yes you can...you can have a normal guitar cab on stage or in the studio...and/or mic the cabinet AND have the Two Notes cabinet simulated output running at the same time!!
