“A really cool in-between, hybrid product.”
That is very well put and this thinking is why this is one of my three amps

Just got the G20 and it's amazing with the HX Stomp. I'm now using what I call the 5 cable method. Put a midi cable from the HX Stomp to the G20 and you can change the G20 preset when the HX Stomp preset changes. It's amazing. The G20 makes a perfect amp for the Hx Stomp PLUS it can do all the cab emulation that the Powercab can do! It's a match made in heaven!
Love your videos Jason. Keep up the great work.

Hey Jason, great video... I'm a classic rock guy and have been using my full Helix Floor in 4CM for a while with a Peavey 6505 Mini head and real cab with a celestion speaker! The 6505 has great crunch & lead tones but not a good clean channel, that's where the Helix models come in so useful, the hybrid method is my favorite way to go. Love this setup! It's crazy, sold my tube amps a bit after I got Helix in Dec. 2015, then bought the Powercab and was happy for quite a while, but then felt I was missing something, the feel of the real tubes again. Yikes, it never stops brother... I've been at this for 40+ years now!
    Thanks for all you do!!!

40+ years? Well then , I must be in good company. Well past that mark and I still play Loud Rock n Roll. Should see the look on the kids faces when I unleash. Heard my niece say to her friends "See? what I tell ya, Uncle can rock his ass off"😁

Really cool demo, first time I really get to see the different virtual cabs, reverbs and p-amps in a youtube video. Thanks a ton

Is this amp overkill if I have no intention of recording or hooking it up to a computer?

Great video Jason. This is a fascinating product. I'm glad tube amps are making such progress and keeping up with the digital modeling. I love my Helix but I'm really interested in this amp. I can't quite bring myself to sell off my tube amps because I still rather like playing through them. HX Effects would work nicely with this amp too. So much choice for guitarists today.

I generally like the sound of Revv amps. I have been deep diving these videos and anything I can find on this amp because it would be a huge purchase. I can say thank you, but I don't think I really like the sound of the distortion/gain on this amp. I can't put my finger on it. Thin maybe? I'm not sure. I like the flexability this amp offers but I think I'm going to try and find something else. I really like your video and thank you! I hope Revv keeps making great stuff!

What ALL these G20 videos don't show you is this:
1.) When you make a G20 purchase-You get instructed to download Torpedo Wall of Sound and "Not" Torpedo Remote-which has the software in this video. This has the software with EQ, Compression etc.
The Software used in most of these videos DOES NOT EVEN LOOK CLOSE to what I had, and now what I use-It also needs to be registered to the unit itself as well-either Wall of Sound or Torpedo Remote-A very convoluted and obfuscated process!
2.) You find a cabinet/sound you like-Depending on your guitar and the cab-it will sound like this in the video-Don't be alarmed if they all sound the same. You need a physical cabinet to hear the subtle changes you make. Studio monitors can only work so far! You need to make changes to Tubes (valves) and mic placement to get the sound that he is getting.
3.) Switching cabs with the rotary switch is a crap shoot as you can save the cab while in Torpedo Remote-but if you press save (push the Store button and-wait for flashing red light )button on the amp? It's a Crap shoot if your setting/saving changes.
I can see getting comfortable with doing this and then go over to a friend's house and run an XLR out the back of the G20 into a Bose PA hoping you get that nice BDeluxe amp that you saved for Rhythm and Lead. Big Surprise-chances are you still have what you got when you unboxed the unit!
Meaning the changes you made to the Amp are NON-EXISTINT!
4.) Torpedo Wall of Sound-In your DAW, you drag it over to your track. Open it up (Before you ever knew you needed Torpedo Remote) and you get some nice cabs to record-but don't expect to make any changes. You get Arcade mode and Simulation mode. If you like what you created in Simulation mode-go ahead and record. When you move back to Arcade mode-all changes-Gone!
5.) Playing live with foot switch (separate purchase)-Until the software starts to work (making and saving cabs from Torpedo Remote to the Amp etc and working with a foot switch) I am going to hold off using this on any live gig!
last thing I want to do is buy another laptop.
6.) Manuals-The G20 is an addendum to the D20-so you need switch between the two to learn. No word on Torpedo Remote manual yet-still looking for that!
7.) If you don't mind the extreme frustration and still want to record-The G20 still has some nice cab simulations.

It has been 3 years. I wonder how these units are holding up. I am looking for a lighter weight solution. My 1/2 stack is not leaving the studio. I can't do it any longer.

Can you store presets without an IR? In other words, when using a real cab, presets that recall channel and eq settings. (Since it’s one eq for two channels)

Does the software come with the G20 or do you have to purchase amp simulators? How do you get the tones/settings from the software to the G20?
Overall, tone was a muddy tone which I am not interested in. Maybe it's a Bass/EQ setting that needs to come down, maybe there would be a difference with my P90's.
Also, the fact that the sound/tone jumps to "clip levels" still needs attention when going into your audio interface and ultimately, your DAW.
Still love the concept of this "Amp", but for the money-I would have to find a store with a return policy that will allow me to return this product.
