  • In this video Paul from The Studio Rats demonstrates the difference in sound by stacking overdrive pedals into the REVV D20 Amplifier. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

Man that’s the best sounding demo of this amp I’ve hear so far!! It really sounds amazing especially with the stacked pedals. May just have to invest in one of those D20s soon!!

Is that Xotic compressor running throughout the whole vid? These tones are killer, for sure. Just wanna make sure I understand the signal path.

Hi Le Bourrea, I’m guessing there’s an auto correction, meaning Shawn Tubbs? If so I’m very honoured, he is a guitar god I only wish I could be. Thanks for the comment.

Curious - you mention using the UA as well as the built in IRs. Which one was it? Also - I’ve been recording and haven’t quite gotten it as full - are you running straight into an interface and DAW or did you go to a preamp?

This mainly makes me want the Revv Generator 100p.
I heard the 100p can also be turned down to 10watt.

Awesome tones! The thing I don't understand is how you can play with that much gain on a Tele and I hear no 60 cycle hum. It drives me crazy in my home studio and makes me think about switching to noiseless pickups or humbuckers.

David Rothberg thanks for the comment, you’re right tele’s are noisy but the custom shop pickups are better. I have a Friedman with p90’s if you want to talk noisy.

If you're talking about through a cab, it would struggle to throw out enough volume at pristine clean to keep up with a drummer. But, remember this amp doesn't get crazy dirty to begin with. Here's the good news, this amp can run straight to the front of house via the xlr on the back. Which means this amp could play literally any venue live, club, large, stadium, and you'll get the same tone you get in a studio. Truly a remarkable amp.
