@@keithhite8687 Yes At least 92 or better. First you have no real timing adjustment and second being air cooled it needs 92 or better to keep the temps down. I have used 103 (airplane fuel) as it is available close to my house and it helps in the summertime if you can find it. Mixing 104 octane boost will also help but you have to be careful to add the precise amount and only add it to near empty tank right (seconds) before refueling or it will eat the rubber lines up (including both vacuum and fuel lines). Starts better and runs cooler at around 100 octane for a long highspeed run. These little 50's struggle so much everything counts. That's why I like playing with em. The tune must be almost perfect or it'll let you know pretty quick.
i want to put a 21mm carb on my rieju mrt pro (50cc) it is an AM6 2 stroke engine. there will also be a sport exhaust (stage6 street race) do you think my engine can handle that or is it smart
That's a huge carb for A50CC... Sounds like you're gonna be getting a lot of air and a lot of gas. Most likely you'll be tampering with the jets for a long time before you get that machine homed in
Yes it definitely looks like a small sport bike I'm still modifying it so if you're interested and you're thinking about buying one pay attention because I'm going to show you how to make it faster. DF50SST
I only got to 3:32 and let me tell you I wouldn't let you work on even my crap $20 carbs. There's no way that was tighter that my kymco's that was sitting in a shed for 10 years. Gently nudged it with a flat head at an angle hitting it with the handle of a larger screwdriver, holding it in my hand. There was no reason to abuse that carb like that.
That's not a large screwdriver... That's an impact driver Specifically designed to remove carb screws. It's a good thing you wouldn't let me work on your stuff because I wouldn't take you as a customer 😁
And secondly this isn't a customer's bike this is my personal bike what I do to my personal stuff is on me 🤣 Thanks for trying to give me your opinion but first I have to value your opinion for me to care 🤣
With all needle settings my scooter doesnt climb in revs at all. Full throttle it goes max 1500 rpm and when you let go it dies. Have you got an idea what it could be? *and when you kick a couple of times without ignition (probably to prime) it works untill you go below 4k rpm...
I need more information what have you done with the carburetor how long has the bike been sitting without running did you buy it used from somebody else?
@@IFixShet hey, I bought it used and the previous owner said it stood still for about a year. I changed the battery, put fresh gas in it and cleaned the carb. Tried to test drive it and it ran okay for about 2 min. Then it started stuttering below 4k. I stopped to maybe find something wrong and when I went to start it it didn't go above 1500rpm full throttle. After I started it multiple times (all not going higher than 1.5k) I turned it off, kicked it a couple of times and then started it full throttle. This made it climb in rpm again and I was able to keep it above 3-4k to drive home. At home I tried adjusting the needle, it already was on the second to lowest setting, first I raised it (middle setting) then lowered it (lowest setting). Both times the engine handled the same... It is a huatian ht50qt26 from 2008. The jet says size 80.
@@vincehoffman179 Cleaning the carb does nothing it's time to replace the carburetor. Chinese scooter carburetors are garbage. Once they start having problems it's cheaper just to replace them
In my shed when I first started it it even ran stationairy, but before and after the two min ride it had not so much compression in my opinion compared to other 4t scooters I have owned, i havr not yet looked at the valve play, maybe thst could be a problem?
@@vincehoffman179 I'm going to pretty much promise you it's carburetor problem. The carburetors are like $6 to manufacture so they are putting the cheapest corporator on the planet in the motorcycle when they sell it. If it's sat for a year it is going to be a problematic carburetor just replace it trust me
As I stated in this video it's not something I like to do however I am changing the RPM output of the engine so I want to go with an timing advanced CDI
Understand that since you watch this video I have performed other modifications to the scooter it is a requirement now as I start modding that I need an advanced timing
The point I was trying to make was that do not order this kit from eBay just because it says performance put it on your scooter and expect to have more performance because people do that and it doesn't work they don't understand they're all they're doing is advancing the timing of the scooter on a stock engine which creates problems down the road unless you're modifying
@@IFixShet If you really want to advance the timing just wallow the holes on the trigger and physically move it. that is the only way to actually advance the timing on these motors. All the cdi does is try to extrapolate the trigger timing from the first few turns and then fire sooner (before the trigger passes) and although math is good, a 10 dollar cdi is not not that good at it. Saw a vid on it but can't find it right now. This guy tried the blue and red boxes but went back to his stock cdi, elongated the holes on his trigger and used a timing light to set his advance. I've not tried it but it makes sense as the box can only anticipate and may or may not be precise while moving the trigger module forward or back is absolute. I just thought it was interesting and probably true... ...seemed to work for him.
@@thehippiedog5956 yes you are correct it advances the CDI timing of the firing sequence which is why it's really bad for your scooter if it's not a built engine because it will either make the cylinder fire too soon or too late and then it will slam the starter clutch and create a huge clunk in your engine when trying to start it it's really bad for your motor
False you always completely tear down a brand new carburetor and clean it because you never know if there are any metal burrs or anything like that inside of there half of these Amazon carburetors are from China and you just want to be safe
There's a cast carb guy... Need guitar strings to poke through the holes... got em (guitar strings :=) And a bad casting is always bad... ...most know not what it means. A .083 and a clogged up pilot? ua-cam.com/video/koG6Zh9MJmo/v-deo.html
😳 WOW 🤔 Well in this video after you put the blue CDI BOX in and the carburetor change over . Just how fast did it go in speed before you did this work on it and just how fast did it go faster you did this work on your bike? And now what do you think you have to do now to it to make it go faster than you got it going now?
Disclaimer all my comments are for entertainment purposes only. And remember to read the warning stickers "do not stick fingers under the lawnmower deck while the blades are in motion". Hehehe...
@@FREAKSHOW762X39 that doesn't mean you have the same ignition system. The bikes are all manufactured in different factories they don't all use the same parts during the installation process remember these are products of China they are mass produced in multiple warehouses.
Wrong main jet for that needle setting. May be too rich or to lean depending what throttle position you are in. Remember these needles are tapered for fuel metering. So this adjustment has many variables. I'd say you are flooding it with fuel. Try going back one or two slots. Moving that adjustment radically should give you radicle results be they be good or bad for performance. Remember moving the needle clip to a lower slot gives you more fuel sooner and your rpm's may be loo low to burn that extra gas at that particular rpm. My guess is it's flooding (too rich) at that setting. Keep on scootin :-) HD
An easy way to tell what you're doing is just take the plug out And compare it to the plug chart On Google it will tell you everything you need to know about how to tune your engine with without going through the painstaking process of just throwing jets at it and hoping for the best IFS
@@IFixShet Agreed man... There are so many variables to carbs (like airbox or no airbox, emission controls, no emission controls, etc.) that no one solution works for every setup. I have one scooter that has the pair system and another that has a "in header pipe" catalytic converter with a reed valve in the exhaust and no pair system. Radically different in carb tuning procedures. Both are new from the factory. That's why it's impossible to do a one size fits all approach to tuning. Keep on scootin :-) HD
@@IFixShet Yepper and always use the proper grease on the plug threads when dealing with these things... Seems slightly lean but a good white and rosy color on the plug.
@@thehippiedog5956 93 octane
Hard start adjusting your valves bro on 50 cc yeah and that stock cab lol
i want to put a 21mm carb on my rieju mrt pro (50cc) it is an AM6 2 stroke engine. there will also be a sport exhaust (stage6 street race) do you think my engine can handle that or is it smart
That's a huge carb for A50CC... Sounds like you're gonna be getting a lot of air and a lot of gas. Most likely you'll be tampering with the jets for a long time before you get that machine homed in
@@IFixShet What will be the best carb size then?
If you got a 70cc big bore kit with a 19mm carb it would be a monster 21 is iffy I’d say 19mm would work perfect

Say what the bleep...that looks like a motorcycle..please tell me the make ,model I've gotta get me one
Yes it definitely looks like a small sport bike I'm still modifying it so if you're interested and you're thinking about buying one pay attention because I'm going to show you how to make it faster. DF50SST
I got the same bike same color lol. The dongfang x18. I hot mines from venom motorsports. Did the bigbore kit and carb, didn't get the blue cdi yet
Can you link your foot pegs? Mine broke
@@IFixShet I know what an impact screwdriver is, you're still an idiot.
They work but they're not reliable after 1,000 me the overheat no spark been there done that so many times get a NCY REPLACEMENT MADE IN TAIWAN
If it's sat for a year it is going to be a problematic carburetor just replace it trust me
I'm confused on your other top 5 not to do video u specifically said don't install blue cdi
What kind of bike is this i would like to get one
Ding dang dfsst 50
False you always completely tear down a brand new carburetor and clean it because you never know if there are any metal burrs or anything like that inside of there half of these Amazon carburetors are from China and you just want to be safe
Yawn....okay lol
There's a cast carb guy...
Need guitar strings to poke through the holes...

Hey buddy I need your help
😳 WOW 🤔 Well in this video after you put the blue CDI BOX in and the carburetor change over . Just how fast did it go in speed before you did this work on it and just how fast did it go faster you did this work on your bike? And now what do you think you have to do now to it to make it go faster than you got it going now?
Wanna make it go really fast? My suggestion is to buy a rope and have the wife or girlfriend pull you around with her car! Hehehhe...

And remember to read the warning stickers "do not stick fingers under the lawnmower deck while the blades are in motion".

Is this cdi ac or dc?
That depends on which model you order you can get AC and you can get DC
@@IFixShet I have the very same bike from this video
@@FREAKSHOW762X39 that doesn't mean you have the same ignition system. The bikes are all manufactured in different factories they don't all use the same parts during the installation process remember these are products of China they are mass produced in multiple warehouses.
Ok I understand. Just fot shets and giggles what did you happen to end up with?
It's ac/DC, 🎸 🥁 yeaaaaa!!!!
You talk about performance but yet you still have all that emissions control crap on there

Where go that fat line go to

Hi could you send me a link or the name of that cdi , love my bike have the same one but hate the rev limiter
The rev limiter saves your engine The only reason I'm installing it is because I don't care about my engine
How you know it’s not getting good fuel with no baseline .😂😂
Wyd bro
You live in kissimmee?
Tampa
What type of carburetor is it?
I did this and it just bogs at full throttle now and kills it
Wrong main jet for that needle setting.
Keep on scootin :-)

An easy way to tell what you're doing is just take the plug out And compare it to the plug chart On Google it will tell you everything you need to know about how to tune your engine with without going through the painstaking process of just throwing jets at it and hoping for the best
IFS
@@IFixShet Agreed man... There are so many variables to carbs (like airbox or no airbox, emission controls, no emission controls, etc.) that no one solution works for every setup.
I have one scooter that has the pair system and another that has a "in header pipe" catalytic converter with a reed valve in the exhaust and no pair system.
Radically different in carb tuning procedures.
Both are new from the factory.
That's why it's impossible to do a one size fits all approach to tuning.
Keep on scootin :-)

@@IFixShet Yepper and always use the proper grease on the plug threads when dealing with these things...
Aluminum heads tend to strip and these plugs are hard to start as they are deep under the air shroud. Need a proper spark plug wrench (rubber insert) with a extension and some proper grease on the plug threads if ya wanna be safe.
Great way to tune...
The plug never lies...
Just don't ever cross thread it...
