There is just something about Those Who Resist Destiny. In a sea of amazing final boss themes, this one finds a way to stand out. It takes all the elements that make other themes epic - pipe organ, chorus, rising tension and dials it all to 11! Then bam! Electric guitar on top of that! So good!
Hah, I'm so happy to hear that! Those Who Resist Destiny was the most difficult track to write, so I'm glad that people found enjoyment out of it. Thank you for giving my music your time.🙏

This game... that ost... ESPECIALLY Prologue - Against all Odd... nah THIS IS AN GOLDEN ERA GAME y'all made it. Amazing game and to me the best indie game ever made alongside Crosscode. Sea of Stars can't compare

Sea of Stars was REALLY let down by the incredibly boring characters (especially the protagonists) and the awkward writing. Would have never expected that after The Messenger, really strange. If this soundtrack does not land you major jobs in the VG/Animation/Movie industry this world is lost. Awesome soundtrack with so many pieces that stick in your mind even after finishing the game.
This game hit every nostalgia button this thirty-nine-year-old has. Sprites, Mecha, puzzles, environmental design, innovative turn-based combat, crafting, gem combining, Skills & abilities, secret caves (I love hidden walls), and yes...the music. Oh, the soundtrack is pure love and fits this this world perfectly. Every little ping and wonderous note tugged on a heartstring from my youth. Thank you, Mr. Eddie Marianukorh. I hope you know, I mean really know, how special your soundtrack is to folks like myself that miss the Golden Era of gaming when heart was at the forefront of their creation.
Forgotten by Light is an absolute masterpiece. Truly made me feel like a child again, playing JRPGs in my room and absorbing the wonderful atmosphere of every aspect of the game.
I genuinely can't think of another game where i would so often stop to enjoy the music. Know that even if I can't get my friends to play the game, I will be using some of these songs for DnD so they at least get to experience the music.
It’s 6am and family is sleeping. I put this on for some background music while I tidy up and after 5 mins I started looking up the game. I now have my Switch in hand ready to purchase. I grew up playing rpgs starting with FF1.. I don’t want to miss what looks like a modern Chrono Trigger! Can’t wait to play
Never Forget Our Promise and A Funeral for the Living absolutely blow me away... completely took me back to the classic games that made me fall in love with the genre. This is an incredible soundtrack for a fantastic game!
If nostalgia wasn't a factor, I wouldn't be crucified for saying this: Chained Echoes is paired, if not above classics like Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger and any other game you may think of. And this amazing soundtrack played a very important role in the players experience. Congratulations on an outstanding job
I love game soundtracks that richly express storytelling through sound-Chained Echoes’ music nails that beautifully. I’m about 40 hours into the game, and the emotion that is invoked by the music has me so thoroughly immersed in the game! Hi. I was too young to play rpgs when they came out during the golden age but when i heard Flower Fields of Perpetua for the first time, it blew me away so much that I imagined this must've been what it felt like to hear secret of the forest for the first time back then. Good lord, what a great OST you and the band put together.
The soundtrack in this game is excellent. Most of the reviews I've seen don't mention it much, but it is just as exceptional as everything else in this great game.
This is one of the most beautiful soundtracks I have ever heard. The Rainy City of Tormund beeing my favourite track. It has something so melancholic and heartbreaking. The melody and the chords that Play Out create a haunting harmony and I can't get this Song Out of my head. I love it! Thank you for this amazing music!
The entire soundtrack is nonstop banger. Gives me nostalgia for the classics but has such a modern twist. The soundtrack truly is what kept me wrapped up in the game
Champions of the Sky (1:13:33) deserves to be one of those songs that becomes an iconic part of the game. That song alone meant I had to buy the soundtrack. It's truly amazing.
Honestly most of the OST from chained echoes is pretty great from a memorable JRPG to a modern video game OST it holds up i'll listen to this while i work for a bit before i mix it into the Square Enix playlist, author of the music went hard for some of these songs lol
Chained Echoes is the big surprise of late 2022 for me. It's a love letter to the best JRPGs, but it's more streamlined, with many fresh ideas and quality-of-life improvements. And the music...just wow, it elevates this game to new heights. I'm sure it was inspired by the best in the genre. There are melodic pieces reminiscent of Nobuo Uematsu, dynamic pieces with playful dissonance that must have been inspired by Masashi Hamauzu, tracks with a touch of Yasunori Mitsuda, and yet they are all original pieces that stand out on their own and complement the gameplay well. The music is truly on par with the pieces that inspired it. I hope this game will be a hit, it´s an instant classic and I love it! You must have poured your heart and soul into this project, thank you ❤
Wow... I'm quite shocked by your insight because you actually picked out my influences really well, haha. And you're right, I definitely was inspired by the best in the genre and more. This is probably the kindest praise I've received. Thank you so much for listening to the music, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the game.🙏
Most of all I liked the moments on 58:00 and 1:08:55 Fiorwood and Perpetua are some of the best tunes I've heard in the last few years in games. I sincerely thank the author for these two compositions, I cry from the masterpiece and beauty of these melodies
Just coming back some time later to let you know this is still a masterpiece of composition. Great job Eddie, your names going to be remembered as one of the greats one day
Chained Echoes is so brutally underrated! I just looked at all the soundtracks of all the games I played this and last year and even all the AAA-games do not have as many fantastic tracks as this game has! ❤ And just the sheer output (50 tracks) - its just astonishing! You are a master Eddie, I hope to listen to your soundtrack in other games in years to come!
It's so refreshing to hear a modern orchestral soundtrack in a classic rpg game. There are so many great modern jrpg games that revert to the old sound bytes of the super nintendo or Genesis. While I enjoy those sounds for nostalgia's sake, having something different that can stand on its own as a great soundtrack that could literally thrive in any type of media is a testament to the stylistic choice and your ability to compose. Chained echoes has to be my favorite jrpg since Chrono Trigger and the soundtrack truly makes it a masterwork. There is so much emotion and relevance in every track. Every area of the game was such a joy to discover more of the soundtrack. Thank you for all the hard work in creating this piece of art.
What would be a great jrpg without its soundtrack? Bow to those stunning compositions that fit each situations perfectly! Ogran caves must be my favourite but I'd like to know which one was the hardest to compose?
Haha, thank you! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the music! And most difficult piece to write? I'll have to say Those Who Resist Destiny. I found it really important to make sure the tone was right, so I spent months writing it. I'm quite happy with how it turned out, haha. Thanks again for giving the music your time and for supporting the game!
The thing with end boss theme is you're less focused on its music but man does it fit the challenge! Anyone can tell you left a whole part of yourself in this. Félicitations 🎶 Working on chained echoes 2 maybe?😅
I listen to this soundtrack almost every day, definitely more than any other music. I beat the game last month, I may play it again some day, but I’m gonna listen to the soundtrack for the rest of my life. Absolutely wonderful, I get goosebumps at Those Who Resist Destiny every time.
I'm from 86. I have played some other recent retro style jrpg's. But this game was the only one that get close to provide me a experience very similar to Chrono Trigger in terms of emotion and pure joy of a classic snes jrpg. I felt myself young again. At same time, it is very unique and not a mere copy. And man, this soundtrack is crucial. It is just sublime. I was impressed. "The Peaceful Place" is incredible. Eddie is a great composer.
It practically is "Premonition" from Xenogears, reimagined. It's just different enough to not irk me and feel more like homage, but it rides really close to that line. Perfect vibe for the area it scores and, like the track it is inspired by, a perfect opportunity to integrate a main theme in the soundtrack.
I love this soundtrack more and more. It's both deep, capable of evoking some serious emotion, and well-rounded, covering a wide variety of scenes. It really captures my memory of 16-bit soundtracks without the inherent limitations.
I didn't play maybe jrpgs in the last years, except octopath traveler. I'm still on chained echoes but will probably finish in the next couple of days. Man this game is one of the greatest
I've just finished Chained Echoes after 50 hours of pure joy. It is now my favourite JRPG and the soundtrack (specially "The Flower Fields of Perpetua") will stick with me forever. Congrats on the composing side of this masterpiece!
I am a Sound Mixer (on set) for Film/TV, I studied music way back in school, but I left it behind as a profession for financial reasons, lately I've been taking on some small composing gigs and found I've been leaning on the melodies and harmonic idioms from the golden age of JRPGs that inspired me to become a musician in the first place... Your amazing score has emboldened my path and inspired me to take on more and more composing projects to bring my skills back up, you and Mathias have my heartfelt thanks for having the courage to put your visions out there, love it all.
Hey Max, this is a really heartwarming comment, and I'm very humbled that the music and game inspired you to continue forward with taking up more composing projects. Thank you for sharing your story with me, and I sincerely wish you the best on your musical journey.
1:03:00 - The Rainy City of Tormund This track is so melancholic and beautiful. It PERFECTLY captures the essence of the city and the state it's in. Seriously it makes me feel so strongly I make it play at Hermit's Isle LOL
I jsut stumbled over this game on X-Box Gamepass and besides everything great in this game... The Music is more than ever a key part of a game. I never felt so hooked by music. You sir are a genius, this was one of my top games 2022 and definetely the OST of the year. You can be sure I am going to check out every single game, movie or project you have been working on or will be working on.
Aw, that is way too kind of you to say. I'm so happy though that you enjoyed the tunes and have been enjoying the game overall. I hope you have fun with the rest of the game! 🙏
I think people are underselling this game by reitterating the nostalgia factor. This game stands alone as a fantastic game, even without knowledge of its inspiration. It comes up with new ideas and really memorable characters. I'm still thinking about that ending.
This game is already breaching my top 5 of ALL TIME, your work on the sound track and how much of an atmosphere it builds on top of this already gorgeous game deserves ultimate praise. Thank you for the feelings your music brought to life in this world 🙏🏻
If I was a game developer, I definitely would choose you to make the ost. This is nothing less than a masterpiece of music. Some of them made me shiver.
So much Sakuraba and Mitsuda vibes here with a splash of Uematsu and a pinch Soken. Truly masterful work Eddie, please keep making music for the sequel/part 2 we all need so bad.
Eddie Marianukroh went into his bag and just refused to come out. I haven't had a game soundtrack put my in this kind of feel since Xenoblade Chronicles 1
Aw, thanks, Mike! Yeah, that song easily took the longest time to write, so I'm happy it turned out okay. Thank you for giving my music your time, and have a happy new year! 🥳🎉

Félicitations 🎶
Working on chained echoes 2 maybe?😅
What an awesome soundtrack! You should be incredibly proud of what you've composed here Eddie - stellar job.
Very kind of you to say. Thank you for giving the music your time. Also, Happy New Year!
This soundtrack is a masterpiece, you are so incredibly underrated.
Haha, I'm happy you enjoy the music. Thanks for listening.
I listen to this soundtrack almost every day, definitely more than any other music. I beat the game last month, I may play it again some day, but I’m gonna listen to the soundtrack for the rest of my life. Absolutely wonderful, I get goosebumps at Those Who Resist Destiny every time.
Aw, you made absolutely made my day, haha. Thank you for giving my music your time, and I hope you follow along with our journey through Eldrea.🙏
What a great Soundtrack. A Tale Carried by the Wind and The Flower Fields of Perpetua really are wonderful works especially.
Ah, well thank you. Glad you're enjoying it!
Ah, well thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
I truly think this OST is a masterpiece. I can tell your heart and soul went into this.
Aw, you just made my day. Thank you for the kind words and I'm happy you enjoyed the music. 🙏
Dude, this soundtrack is one of the best I ever heard in 30+ years of gaming.
❤️❤️❤️
I think you just sold me a videogame.
@@RHINO_Mk_II Haha! And I think you just made my day. Thank you for supporting the game! I hope you enjoy it!
This OST gave me chills. What a stellar job! Sunken City of Nhysa gives me big Xenogears vibes
it reminds me of dead sea in chrono cross
It practically is "Premonition" from Xenogears, reimagined. It's just different enough to not irk me and feel more like homage, but it rides really close to that line. Perfect vibe for the area it scores and, like the track it is inspired by, a perfect opportunity to integrate a main theme in the soundtrack.
I love this soundtrack more and more. It's both deep, capable of evoking some serious emotion, and well-rounded, covering a wide variety of scenes. It really captures my memory of 16-bit soundtracks without the inherent limitations.
@@ryandude3 aw, too kind. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Thank you for giving my music your time!
I didn't play maybe jrpgs in the last years, except octopath traveler. I'm still on chained echoes but will probably finish in the next couple of days. Man this game is one of the greatest
The best RPG of my life
🙌🙌🙌
Agreed
2:35 was such a perfect song to hear in the beginning. It really sold me on the games atmosphere.
Ah thanks! I'm glad to hear that. I hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
This ost has what it takes to go against any AAA production, its incredible
🙏🙏🙏
I've just finished Chained Echoes after 50 hours of pure joy. It is now my favourite JRPG and the soundtrack (specially "The Flower Fields of Perpetua") will stick with me forever. Congrats on the composing side of this masterpiece!
Oh nice! Congrats on beating the game! Thank you for the kind words. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed everything!
1:03:00 - The Rainy City of Tormund
This track is so melancholic and beautiful. It PERFECTLY captures the essence of the city and the state it's in. Seriously it makes me feel so strongly I make it play at Hermit's Isle LOL
Haha. I'm happy to hear you enjoy the track so much. Thank you.🙏
I jsut stumbled over this game on X-Box Gamepass and besides everything great in this game...
@@esoundsignal I already reached 100% 😅
Yes I enjoyed every single Minute
@Basti Scholz Hah! You are awesome! Happy to hear you enjoyed the game so much.😄
Game of the year idc what anyone saids
@@chillguydave925 🙏🙏🙏
Such an incredible experience through and through.
Aw, thanks! Happy to hear it!
I think people are underselling this game by reitterating the nostalgia factor. This game stands alone as a fantastic game, even without knowledge of its inspiration. It comes up with new ideas and really memorable characters. I'm still thinking about that ending.
Your soundtrack carried a lot of the game. Its the best indie ive ever played. Perpetua is my favorit. Love it ❤
Aw, thanks! So happy you enjoyed the game!
The Peaceful Place is so perfect.
Aw, I'm happy to hear that. Glad you enjoy it.✌️
This game is already breaching my top 5 of ALL TIME, your work on the sound track and how much of an atmosphere it builds on top of this already gorgeous game deserves ultimate praise. Thank you for the feelings your music brought to life in this world 🙏🏻
Ah, that means so much to me. I'm so happy you enjoyed the game and its accompanying soundtrack. Thank you!
The music in the Flower Fields is SOOOOOO dope. Love this game so much.
Yo, happy to hear it! Thank you so much for playing the game!
If I was a game developer, I definitely would choose you to make the ost. This is nothing less than a masterpiece of music. Some of them made me shiver.
🙏🙏🙏
1:30:55 We! Are Men! Of The Sea!
So much Sakuraba and Mitsuda vibes here with a splash of Uematsu and a pinch Soken. Truly masterful work Eddie, please keep making music for the sequel/part 2 we all need so bad.
Ah, thank you, Josh. I really respect the work of all you named, so I'm humbled to have the comparison. Thank you for giving my music your time.🙏
I'm going to play this game just because this amazing OST
Ah, thanks! Hope you enjoy the game!
My God, this music is amazing. Well done!
Aw, thanks!
You could stick the main theme in front of any JRPG ever made and it would fit perfectly.
The Weight of Destiny (1:05:50) is also a wonderful song. Conveys so much emotion! Amazing game if you haven't tried either, a true passion project.
Eddie Marianukroh went into his bag and just refused to come out. I haven't had a game soundtrack put my in this kind of feel since Xenoblade Chronicles 1
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it!
I finished the game 1 month ago I'm already so nostalgic thank you for your work.
🐦❤
🙏🙏🙏
1:56:47 - 2:07:19 Holy Guacamole, what a song.
Especially 2:02:51 , You could not have made that sound more badass
Aw, thanks, Mike! Yeah, that song easily took the longest time to write, so I'm happy it turned out okay. Thank you for giving my music your time, and have a happy new year! 🥳🎉
I really enjoy the Rainy City of Tormund. It's haunting, wistful, and captures the mood nicely at that point in the story.
Very grateful to hear that. That particular theme holds quite a bit of meaning, so I'm glad you like it.🙏
Rohlan Fields just hits different
Thank you for your time and effort. Chained Echoes was my 2022 GOTY and one of my favorite games of all time. The game itself is wonderful but the music you have created elevated the experience to something truly unforgettable. Never stop.
That's incredibly kind of you to say, and honestly very heartwarming. Thank you so much for supporting the game and giving the music your time.🙏
1:33:13 This one always makes me feel sad. The first time you return to Farnsport after that incident is probably one of the most depressing moments in the game…
This is the best game I've played in years, the OST is incredible.
Aw, thanks! Glad you're enjoying the game and music!
I wish i could go back and experience this masterpiece of a game for the first time again
@@DenkoDeyka 🙏🙏🙏
Just finished the game, and what a stellar game it was. I had been aching for a classic JRPG for so long, and Chained Echoes not only scratched that itch but exceeded all my expectations.
Wonderful creation, I cannot wait for the next game to come from you guys.
Aw, well thank you for playing the game! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
I can say with absolute certainty that these masterpieces easily rivals with the best pieces from the past. Love the songs here
Too kind. Happy to hear you enjoyed the sounds. Thanks! 🙏
Omg amazing soundtrack. Abosuletely love the game
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Man this soundtrack is a masterpiece! So many tracks are bangers!
Very kind of you to say! Thanks for listening.🙏
A day in the village is sublime, cosy and familiar, yet misterious and utopical.
This is very good recommendation.
Only ~7200 views and 123 subscribers.
It should get more popular.
Haha, I appreciate it. Also, I recognize your name. Thank you so much for always being so supportive on the Chained Echoes subreddit.🙏
@@esoundsignal Thanks to you for the great work.
I bought this game recently and started playing and currently spoiling myself by listening to this soundtrack. Man. Good work! Bravo.
@@hariseldon6392 haha, thanks! Hope you enjoy the game!
Saw this game being recommended several times, it looked interesting but I wasn't entirely sure yet until I watched the first few hours on a stream and the music is what convinced me to buy it. It really sets the atmosphere so perfectly.
