I went to see this movie when it opened on December 25, 1978. I took the beautiful girl I was dating at the time as a freshmen in University. We had a blast. I love the scene when Navin is drawn into the small trailor by the motorcycle stunt woman. She enters and throws her helmet into a corner area and Navin says, Oh, that's where it goes". Classic.
I unfortunately watched the television version last night. "Call him Stupid" "This is not gonna be easy, Stupid" and the worst, when M Emmet Walsh returns "Stupid! Stupid! ATTACK ATTACK."
When I was A kid this movie used to come on what they call regular TV. In my Area channel 50. They used to always call the dog stupid. And it wasn’t until dozens of years later that I’ve watched the movie uncensored and found out the dog real name.
