  • The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of ancient Jewish religious manuscripts that were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in the vicinity of the Dead Sea. These scrolls are some of the oldest known surviving copies of biblical and extra-biblical texts and have provided invaluable insights into the religious and cultural landscape of ancient Judaism and early Christianity.
    The significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls lies in their contribution to our understanding of the development of Jewish religious thought, the transmission of biblical texts, and the historical context of the Second Temple period (ca. 530 BCE to 70 CE).
