Damn, just scrolling through UA-cam shorts and I come across a fellow Fairbanksian(?) lol. Been a while since I didn’t have running water, but I remember going to water wagon back in the day.
When we moved back to Juneau from living in Arizona for almost 15 years the water there was terrible even with reverse osmosis, I couldn’t contain myself. The water was so ‘light’ and ‘refreshing’ I kept on guzzling it until I ‘swished’ as I walked. It was like being free from the desert !!! I was home…
I grew up in Southern New jersey, and we had well water my entire life. That house still has well water to this day... In NEW JERSEY. Matter of fact, the entire town does. Medford Lakes NJ.
Best water in all of Fairbanks! They do have some donation bins out there to help keep that place up and running. I always try to drop a couple bucks in when I fill up my jugs
dude where in fairbanks is this? i have been paying to fill my 160 gallon tank in my truck every other day for over a year at water supply point in north pole or with the water wagon people!!!! is there a way to fill big tanks there?
@@deucedeuces damn thats a shame. any idea where a cheap place is? as spending 8 bucks (which doesnt seem like alot but adds up) gets to be a pain every 2 or 3 days.
Fantastic water… Well, nothing is free. Lots of money goes into that from the State and non-profit organizations. You might be benefiting but someone is paying 😊
So here in Flint Michigan, we don't trust that the city water is safe..... So we drive forty minutes away and fill out 5 gallon jugs from an artesian well
@@MrLoobuthat’s really incredible. I don’t know if anywhere in the US where tap water is clean and free. Always filled with fluoride and chlorine and a bunch of other chemicals
Outside the Fairbanks city limits there is no piped water. You either have a well, a holding tank that you have to fill up yourself or get water delivered, or you live in a dry cabin like this guy and fill up jugs that you use at home. In a dry cabin you might have a shower that you would have to fill up with these, but most people shower at the university, or a laundromat, or a friends house.
It is only a couple miles from a city and in a borough of 70,000. But this water spot is used by many and anyone that did that would be instantly on the bad list of everyone in town, even those who would steal from other places leave this alone.
I love how politics and media says we need to help Africa get clean water and shelter, while our own people are homeless and sick from the poison in city water systems. The lengths people will go to for power 😔
I would never get it from some building put up by the state or feds. There is no telling what they are doing to it. I would find a natural source. I myself have a well on my property.

Up in fox, you can find it on Google maps, it’s right off the highway. You can’t fill big tanks but I bring about 10, 5-gallon jugs and fill up my drinking water for the next month or so.
Or you could simply get city water, lol. You people in dry cabins crack me up. How is that outhouse at -50 F below? How much is gas to drive to Fox to fill your bottles? Bet you love your trips to Planet Fitness to shower and wash your vegetables. But ya gotta have the whole "Fairbanks" experience, right? Good thing Walmart is right down the road. :-) (Even funnier is when the dry cabin people order Door Dash and Instacart).
So Alaskans can’t go down to the streams to get water because the big oil companies polluted their environment. So now they have to drive to town to get their free water that the big bad government gives them. This video is weird
It was a natural spring that they built a shack over with a pump house. The city owned it but eventually gave it up and a private organization crowd funded to keep it open and upgrade it for better winter access. Great example of not needing the government for public works!
