This might sound stupid, but I practice the technique/form/body position you teach with my bike on the stand in the garage before I go to the track. Then, when I get to the track I practice it again in the parking lot before I get on the track. It feels like it helps me mentally lock my body into the correct form for when I get out on the track. Thanks so much for all your consistent training videos MX Factory 🤘

my.02 worth.....cardio. I will never forget ...I was just starting the 4th 25 mile lap when this dude past me like I was standing still cuzz I was tired, no...I was WIPED OUT, he was still fresh enough to make me look like a beginner. That was also the day I realized I wasn't a kid anymore. But seriously, get in better shape, it might not make you faster but it will help you stay fast LONGER.

    Great video.
I especially love the time estimates for skills development and the way you unpacked 'Competition': words to the effect of 'When you are focussing on technique in the heat of competition, you're starting to get it.'
I've followed a similar approach of developing technique and use competition as a check to see how I'm going - nothing more honest than a race!
I get pics from the track photog and use them to check technique. ATM I need to get the arms up a bit higher and can lean the bike further and weight outside peg more but happy with feet position (balls). Leaning to anticipate accel/decel is coming along well but can do better - it's my primary cause of fatigue.

I'm 6'4" and started riding 6 years ago. Walked into the shop and said I need a bike the fits me above all other considerations. They sell all brands and I ended up on a KTM. KTM owns Husqvarna and Gas Gas too; Husky's for 2021 are lower than the other two; the GG is cheaper than the other two and the suspension is set up better for average riders. Given all that: look at a GG or KTM 250. MX bike if that' all you're doing; get an enduro (EXC type thing) if you're doing anything else. An EXC is better at occasional MX than vice versa. MX bikes kinda suck in the bush: snappy power, stiff suspension that often deflects, close ratio gear boxes, 19" rear wheels, and usually can't be registered (If that's important).
Having said all that: I read that YZ'/WRs are big and tall (and heavy) but I've never swung a leg over one. Could be worth a look.
