What strikes me as the most absurd fact to this day is that Ultra Accustrike darts cost roughly between 51 and 59 cents each, whereas half length darts from Dart Zone are between 9 and 11 cents each and are far superior in just about every way.

I finally found the reason why the magazines are called Clips. There are countrys in Asia that forbidd / banned the Word Magazine on any toy. Thats why Hasbro ist going with this. I also saw worker Talon mags sold as Clips for the same reason.

Since hasbro doesnt sell super performance blasters at any good price, i dont see why they could look at a blaster scosystem and be like yup, new (propriatary) darts, deceptive marketing, new multiple (propriatary) mags, poor ergo decisions, and mediocre performance all at premium prices and were that is what we are going to do. Honestly other companies are offering blasers at half the price while doubleing or trippling the performance while also having backwards compatability, upgradability, and good ergos. Hasbro should either get it together or position them selves as a kid friendly blaster company that kids can afford. I mean the ultra line should have never came out and the fact that one, it did, and two, that hasbro did all the things I said above is just outrageous.
7 darts per second but you've got 20 shots maximum without buying a second Speed. Absolute genius move from Hasbro. If they'd announced a second blaster and a refill pack for this magazine, I wouldn't be so against this new design. Then again, it is a fundamentally worse design than the traditional magazines that we know are capable of feeding at double the Speed's RoF...
Also, this is Hasbro's third Ultra magazine design and they're still not doing double stacked. The Three is probably a worse Ultra blaster but the Speed is certainly the biggest letdown in an already disappointing line of blasters.
also the 7 darts a second maybe correct but on the box it says "fastest firing nerf blaster ever" but the rival perces does 8/second
Ultra has always been a crap line. Nerf lost that #1 spot years ago. I use to love Nerf, but the present management of Nerf has failed so often that the only way they can get back to that #1 spot would be to fire all those money grabbers and start selling proper blasters for less than half price.
Ultra sells really well when it's on clearance I've noticed.

You had the mags backward twice. In the rear storage, the red side should have been facing camera but you always had the black side facing camera when inserting it the right way otherwise. When you put the old style mag in, you had the back of the darts pointing forward so I’m glad the mag wouldn’t go in that way. Not sure it would have worked if you were going the right way though
This bothered me so much, the only direction he didn't try was top in, red side out. He finally had it the right way when he got outside, but didn't say anything about it fitting better...

But he did put the old mag in the right way? The red tips were facing forward and they were in the magazine correctly.

I have that blaster, you were putting the magazine in backwards everytime for the storage compartment. The red side should be facing outward, just like the loaded magazine ❤
Nerf full auto peaked with the perses has the same rate of fire, more power, rechargeable battery, and a decent ammo capacity
Just bought one today from target, $27 with my coupon and I have to say I didn’t have these problems. The spare mag holder is tight and I can flip the mag upside down and top it off when it’s empty. It’s not as tight as opposed to the proper orientation but it hasn’t fallen out either. Never had a dart pop out from the mag. I must say tho, the rev trigger hurts.
I have to say, it’s OKAY in stock form, but 12v is the sweet spot ;). Great review as usual, Drac!

Just threw a 3s in the battery tray & its still working fine. 100+ fps with regular ultra its impossible to dodge because you have no idea where theyre going
@@paullassahn9296 haha! Did you see my video btw? I tried 4S but it was too much. Felt like a shotgun blast all darts gone in 2 milliseconds lol. 3S is perfect. Try accustrike darts if you want precision shooting too!

That's been the case with lots of Nerf Blasters for years, I want to go back to N-Strike Elite's first reveal. At least things then weren't absolutely downhill.

Quick tip: you don't put the mag on the back with the bottom inside, I've seen a lot of other reviews put the mag "lips" in the slot instead, and it holds it in better.

Thanks for the fair warning not to waste hard earned fundage on garbage like this...Ultra does shoot the farthest, but only through a RIVAL hopper fed flywheeler in very limited bursts 😁 and accuracy goes out one window or the other.
You know, I would think that this blaster would be so much better ONLY IF it was to a different theme, like Elite 2.0 or even Rival. This "potential" being in Ultra is just... (scoff)... a real loss of words.

Yes but you will still be stuck using the two mags that won't work with anything else.
I dont like this blaster because its only capacity of 12 darts and having a superfast rate of fire and also this blaster is so expensive. I would rather buy the Turbine instead

Lmao Drac the sad truth is, they don't care what we think about them. Kids see a cool blaster, their parents buy it. That's their market now. They've surrendered the serious part of the hobby to Dartzone.
Dunno about the broad market, but among the people I interact with more and more of them watch review videos before buying for their kids.

Hyper, in my opinion. There's a reason why there have barely been any new additions to the line ever since it's debut. With the inherent inconsistency in feeding rubberised ammo for velocities that don't really hold up to the performance that the hobby has martialed for the last few years, it's near pointless to invest in Hyper.
Ultra almost sits in the same camp, with proprietary ammo that doesn't really do anything new. But at the very least, there have been some cool shell designs that have warranted conversion kits. The Speed has been Ultra's greatest disappointment though. Dare I say more so than the Ultra One.
As for Elite 2.0, the original line up of solvent-welded reskins with worse internals was a huge disgrace. But with the new line up, excluding the pointless designs that really should fall under Alpha Strike, Elite 2.0 seems to be coming back around. At least you can take them apart to repair them.

Oh yes Hasbro I would love to purchase a slightly faster hyperfire that uses proprietary darts and proprietary magazines, but not the same proprietary magazines that came with the other proprietary dart blasters, these proprietary magazines only work with this blaster, and I would way rather spend 70 of my hard-earned godforsaken dollars on this than driving down to my local thrift store and finding a regular hyperfire for 11 dollars.

I'm not saying the spare mag storage is any good, but you did try 3/4 possible orientations of the mag while talking about it in the video, none of which were the one pictured on the box. Then when you went outside, you had it the 4th way, and didn't comment, or appear to have any trouble with it.

Nerf is the number one selling blaster brand by far. Look at their quarterly statements. They make a fortune. The competitors all together make less than 10 percent of the market share. Regardless of how much you dislike their products.
The category has some definitive changes with Zuru taking a huge position outside of North America and the high end being swept away entirely. I look at a lot of retailer numbers and while the Nerf brand isnt in any danger at the moment, things are more unsettled then theyve been in 15 years. Its all very interesting. Just to be clear, I love Nerf blasters, I just expect the #1 brand to deliver solid product and Im not afraid to be the guy who says so when they lean on that brand awareness to stay afloat.

Why is a proprietary mag design for a particular model a problem? Things sometimes have to change for particular reasons. If compatibility is such an issue, Nerf still make other blasters that use standard parts. They've typically set the standards which others have adopted. But not all manufacturers parts fit all blasters, and let's face it, dart sizes have changed over the years too, meaning incompatibilities. Was that bad? Should we have stuck to the originals? Each change was proprietary until others adopted it. What you appear to want is something innovative, but that doesn't change, something high quality and high performance, but cheap too, and something which somehow suits every possible size and shape of person. All from a company that doesn't try and save money where possible, doesn't advertise it's features but still continues to make enough money to continue existing. Well, nothing difficult there then.

this blaster is pretty cool because of its fire rate and fun factor, but it’s VERY impractical because it uses proprietary mags and the motors bog down a LOT under full auto, and it has iffy ergo as well
Also worth noting is that numerous Rival blasters were already doing what the Ultra Speed is doing right now, and they were doing it better

There's lipos in your phone, tablet, laptop, powertools, hoverboard, bicycle, toothbrush, etc. Why would you not use them in blasters? Great power to weight ratio, high amperage possibilities, short charge time. You just need to know a little bit more to use em
I guess you would never mention it were you the number one in anything, or even in the top ten? Do you think Olympic athletes, world champions, record holders, inventors, innovators or market leaders shouldn't advertise their success in particular categories? Do you realise that they have to qualify any such claims because they operate in a huge, global market? Some countries make it a legal requirement to do so, and in this exceptionaly litigious world, it's a wise precaution if nothing else. But let's not tell anybody about out successes... it might offend a UA-camr. 😂

Love Dracs reviews, but I think this is classic ultra hate lol. There was alot of "possibly this" and "maybe that" can go wrong. Drac is a design guy. He knows exactly why the mag works like it does. There are legit complaints like the one side paint. But it's super fun in stock. And as far as the bog down, do people really mag dump in wars?

Agreed this was very excessive hate for the views. Flaws aside there have been multiple other reviews all mentioning the magazines and saying what they are different - likely due to the fire rate and yet Drac acted all surprised.
