I do hope Rival continues! It feels like a great balance between light-hearted fun and actual competitive play. Hopefully the accurival line gives us our next flywheeler.

The rival is going to continue in 2023,there’s a rival blaster called forerunner coming in 2023 and it’s look like a pump action blaster like the rival Saturn and the rival takedown. There’s also a blaster called pilot,it’s an break action jolt.

And more importantly, my cat LOVES rival. I have a Perses, and my cat goes bonkers when I shoot the balls down my stairs!!! They bounce off the half way point and go everywhere. My cat goes bananas! You can't do that with darts! ;-)

Hey Coop! I've been glued to your videos this year. Even picked up my first blaster in almost a decade purely on your review (Dart Zone Max Stryker!). It does indeed hit a little harder, though it's been loads of fun to shoot and my daughter loves running around with it.
My *only* wish for your channel is don't burn yourself out for the sake of "trying harder." I get complacency can be tempting in this industry and I've seen many channels go under because they were unwilling to innovate, however I have never gotten that vibe from you. Every foam-flinging-fabricated-firearm you've reviewed had purpose and valuable information for the community, especially ultra-casual players like myself. I'm all for new content and seeing what you've got in store, but the model you've got running is strong and I think a lot of people would hate to see you overwork yourself either to compete with the UA-cam algorithm or be a "better" you. There's always room for improvement, but every video you post is an instant watch for me.
Keep up the phenomenal work and see you next year!

Agreed. I'm definitely down for new stuff, but only as long as it doesn't come at the cost of what you already do so well. You communicate the important specs and the more minor details most wouldn't even think about like grips that are okay at first but quickly wear on your hand or holsters that are functional but not so much when you start parkouring in the heat of a game. Your info is concise and digestible for experienced down to beginner. You're good at what you do, Coop. Don't let it fade out of a feeling you gotta shake things up just to shake things up.

Makes sense, though you run into an issue where most of those blasters , have like, some tactics, and that's the most fun you get out of it other than performance. I liked the dumb wacky stuff like Mega XL or Zombie strike, but I haven't seen any of those in stores lately, for some reason.

    • @Thesnakerox

@@s.i.m.poster6823 I think Zombie Strike is pretty much an obsolete/dead series at this point, but the lack of Mega XL is actually kinda disappointing. The Mega XL blasters are better grenade launchers than the blasters that shoot Demolisher rockets imo

I've been optimistic about nerf,. Ever since then Hasbro dropped the ball a lot of 2020 and most of 2021 but they still have some cool blasters released. However, I found that this year was an improvement over the last 2. Ultra, I find has merit in the the fact that it can fire high velocity but won't hurt on impact as much. With the switch to Accu rounds, I hope this is the turnaround for the series. I think Elite 2.0 is taking steps in the right direction, releasing in my opinion, their best stock dart blaster in the last 5 years, the motostrike and giving a new alternative wheel gun, the trailblazer. Both of those blaster came in the latter half of the year so I think they are starting to listen, (plus they are modable). I still see merit in hyper and I think Hasbro with gel blasters is going to be a huge step in the right direction. 2023 I hope will be a bounce back year. I might be overly optimistic but I have hope. They were able to solve the Ultra round accuracy problems, they fixed the Elite 2.0 unmodablility, they released some really cool products in Elite 2.0 and Rival accustrike. There is still some juice left in the tank and 2023 I feel is that year they can bounce back.

    suggestion:
Mark hits during shooting tests with dots using a standardized dart to have the ability to compare the accuracy of the reviewed gun to others for a more educated purchase decision
(maybe dart zone waffles for full length and dzp reds for half length or something)
I know it takes a bit more editing and time, but worth it?

Hey Coop, one subtle change in your weekly reviews that would go a long way would be adding a target to what I would assume to be your front door, either physically or in post-production. This would give great feedback when looking at the accuracy of the blasters, especially the high performance ones. I get that accuracy is subjective to the user, but atleast somewhat consistant shot grouping data would be appriciated. Keep up the great work!

Excellent year end review! My favorite blaster of the year was one that never got mentioned, but as a shotgun guy I cannot adequately express just how incredibly thrilled I am that Dart Zone made the Max Dictator! It's got the aesthetics and ergonomics of a tactical shotgun with the 150 fps performance and seamless Talon magazine compatibility that Dart Zone is known for. I don't even care that it only shoots one dart at a time, a truly competitive, battle practical, nearly jam-proof, half dart firing tactical shotgun with slamfire is what I've always wanted in the foam flinging world and Dart Zone totally delivered with the Max Dictator!

Who the hell cares about Hyper? Or the gel shit? Hyper was dead on arrival, the gel thing will go the same way because if a gel fan wants a blaster, Nerf isn't on their list. There's better for cheaper, and foam people don't care. Meanwhile, they keep pushing Ultra out no one cares about, Elite 2.0 is still in no man's land (there's still only 2 models worth even considering). Fortnite stuff is basically their main line these days. There's some that are actually kinda neat, but it's all super stylised which turns a lot of people off, and none are as good as old Elite stuff in terms of modularity etc. And even then, Fortnite stuff has some elements that line up with E2.0, unfortunately.
Nerf is still very much in a weird as hell place.

You try audience suggestions of non-foam ammo, or non-foam-flinging flingers, and use your review process to rate how well the suggestion flings or is flung.
You can call the two categories Faux Foam Flingin, and Faux Fling Foamin.
    My suggestions for each:

Thanks to you I got my first rival, the nemesis and for my son, he liked your videos and opted for getting a hyperfine, due to what you said around the elite 2.0 range.
I told my son it was to stop him stealing my darts.... Bwah hahaha.
Like you we just use ours around the house as I do not know what the foam flinging scene is like here.
Hope you keep up the good work and stat tacticool.

I work at a foam arena called Foam Warriorz and they are almost exclusively rival. We literally only have full length darts available because there are no rival blasters that little kids (like 5 years old) are strong enough to prime. Specifically a rival pistol.

As someone who has been slowly moving away from Nerf (because 95% of their stuff is ass nowadays), I can say that half length dart blasters with a much higher level of customization and adaptability to a situation/game mode is the way to go for the future. I’ve picked up three Dart Zone blasters (one that shoots strictly half length and the other two having the option of full and half length) and I can’t put them down even when I’m not shooting ‘em. It’s much more fun to feel like an operator, so to speak, and it’s rewarding in a game mode with people who are as passionate as you about this hobby. Granted, I don’t have that group of friends, but if I did, this is the way I would steer them towards for the future of the hobby. Keep doing what you do, Coop! Don’t burn yourself out trying new things, though.

I'm not a foam flinger. I dont own, or plan on owning and nerf blasters in the future.
My hobby is airsoft. I own airsoft guns, i play the sport, i mod and repair my airsoft guns.
There is no reason for me to be here, other than your production quality and professionalism with the odd piece of humor and running jokes. Maybe some of the weapo ergonomics and gear talk is applicable to airsoft.
It is truly something to behold that your videos are able to entertain someone from a diffrent hobby so much that i keep coming back for more videos.
I am genuinely interested in the mechanics of New innovations in the foam flinging world and your opinions on them. Thats how good your content is. You make me care for a hobby most people from my hobby look down upon for being "not manly enough"...
Keep up the good work, glad your surgery went well and you seem to be recovering. See you next year.

Waddup dudebro! I loved this video, just you getting your thoughts out there about the year! Additionally, I also hate the watchtime abuse of other UA-camrs, and after one of your past q and as, when you mentioned you watch videos on 1.5-2x speed, I myself have tried that and it’s made UA-cam more enjoyable again. However, I also notice in all of your videos that you make your content concise yet informative, even speaking quicker then other creators on 1.5x speed. More respect to you!

Hey Coop. Long time subscriber, 1st time commenter here.
This video prompted me to go back and look at some of your older vids. Your mod videos were so simple and to the point and the photography was very straightforward. I may consider trying to mod a flywheel again after initial failures scared me off. If you're considering ideas for the new year, I really think that short, yet informative mod videos would be a welcome change from the multi-hour livestream mod vids out there. Either way, great content. Keep up the good work.

So I support you doing more of what makes you happy. I come to this channel for short precise reviews, which includes the "Check This Out" series. So if making those makes you happy, you also make me happy.

Coop. 15:18 there is a pistol out there that is what you’re looking for. I dunno if it’s semi auto or not, but it’s a worthy inclusion because not only is it smaller than the nightingales, it hits harder, is fully electric, and has a mini screen to change how hard you hit, how fast you hit, and how many you hit. It’s the pew tech pistol and they sell those foam flingers on instagram exclusively. It’s a hobby project made by someone who isn’t even a foam flinger. And it’s undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best foam pistol out there. It takes half length darts, and I believe worker talon mags
