when i speak about games to my non-gamer friends, i always start with singleplayer games. i tell them singleplayer games are the final form of art, where story writing, music, drawings, 3D art, etc everything comes to life together to create an even beautiful life. instead of reading a book, u actually get to experience the world and even make decisions.
personally, i feel happy about not having to deal with the toxicity in online games. and, i love how the storylines of singleplayer games live with me forever and have helped me in my life.

100% agree with everything said in this video, singleplayer games are some of the best out there and are for sure here to stay. Common Bloxomatic W

^ i probably couldnt say it any better than this. although i am a fan of multiplayer games, theres just some things that can only really be achieved in a single player experience.
as for favorite singe player games: theres a few on my personal list: the Creeper World franchise by knuckle cracker is one such game. but the be all end all game i play more than anything is in fact skyrim.
and your right modding does extend, a game (or version of a game), or even in some game's cases, the game itself is improved beyond doubt with such mods. below are 3 examples of mods that i can point to, though in no particular order:
      1) if we were to look through the billion's of Minecraft mods that exist: my personal favorite "must have this installed at all times" is the gamut of mods done by Reika Kalseki, notably: Chromaticraft. though that is not the only mod they work on (actively i might add). their mods are for a fairly old version of the game but honestly, i still highly recommend them and they offer a specialized gameplay style that scratches an itch that i dont see in many other mods these days and they have since expanded the life of that version of minecraft (at least in my opinion.)
      2) for skyrim: the mod i point to is known as Relics of Hyrule, and again this is one of those 'must have installed' type mods. it focuses on a telling a particular narrative, but it relies on the player to put the threads together and draw their own conflusion. it focuses on exploring the base game, improving it in slight ways, and keeping itself dedicated to maintaining a 'skyrim first' point of view. on nexus it is in the top 5 of its category, and the dedication and love its developer, Jkalenad shows.
      3) finally: there is a mod that took a game, and for most fans, and even the oriignal developers: the mod is a major reason why the game still is considred one of the best rpg games of its time. the game is Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodline's and the mod is known as the community patches. without that mod: the game probably would of died out by now, and with the help of the original game developers and the community: the game lives on to this day.
id continue with more detail for all 3... but its 3am my time, and ive dozed off 6 times trying to type this message....

Why can't we have the option to do both? Game developers will make way more money and the customers will be way more satisfied.

Most of it was the first game that I was talking about (I used gameplay for spider-man 2) I haven’t had the chance to play the second one yet as no PS5 lol.
