17:17 And the previous one doesn't have the 2nd Infantry division w/the Indian head emblem fabric around the arm. With the left gauntlet, It's supposed to be a piece of fabric wrapped around it, and not damage. Not sure why NECA went a different route. And I am such a bigger fan of the previous one actually being grey. [They literally went with the exact same colour as the Shaman] Plus like you mentioned, being able to see the quills so much better on the head looks a lot nicer.
This figure does look great, buuuut I may have to pass on it. I already have the V2 one and it certainly holds up well. The paint job on the white quills is preferable to me, not to mention more accurate to the movie, and I have to be picky with what I get since I don't have much space to display these figures.
Yes!! Indeed! Ive been saying for years theirs a lot of potential in the AVP Extinction game. Chance to get new marines, and unique Alien Predator designs not in the films. Really want a Carrier Xeno to hold all my extra face huggers.
@@galindestruction yes that's at the very least 20 new designs to run with and profit from with new lines of toys. I'm also waiting for them to finish the KENNER lime with the Flying alien Queen and the predators from the series 2 Kenner line that never made it past prototype but you can find pictures online and even cool art renditions on Teepiblic shirts.
Interesting you mentioned this. Didn't notice this until now and when I get home I'm gonna get a better look at the figure. I remember my Ahab Predator had this issue itself. From time to time I've noticed Neca has had this quality issue.
@@galindestruction Now with the help of large drills and engravers, I corrected the mistake by deepening the hip joint to a depth of about 0.5 mm. now he's perfect
Damn. As excited as I was for this, the head sculpt just ruins it for me. It's not accurate at all. The quills not being painted are a complete deal breaker for me. Those are a distinct trait of this version of the character and they basically just gave him the Jungle hunters head and painted it Grey. Yeah, I'm not paying $45 for this. I'll try to find the older one. Thanks for the review and comparison. Saved me some money.
No problem! Yeah during editing of this video, a big part of me started to think it feels more like Jungle Hunter. It has features I like, but yes those quills are a huge nitpick. Certain aspects make the V2 version better and feel closer to the character we see on scene.
I agree that version 2s paint is better. He just looks more like an elder and the darker bluish gray is a cool look although the new one is more realistic. I think the new one is worth it for the articulation but the prices are so high that version 2 does the job unless your a completionist. Great review btw. Good comparisons too
Glad to see someone saw it from my perspective on the V2 release. The new one is done well, but the approach and paint apps on the V2 Elder capture the best look. That figure holds up well.

Have you noticed that your figurine has a longer right leg than the left, I have the same problem with the figurine

The white quills are also more accurate to the film. Very distinct in the movie. Maybe they'll add that in the reissue of this figure in the future.
