Here's just a glimpse of what you'll find in The Lost Ways:
From Ruff Simons, an old west history expert and former deputy, you'll learn the techniques and methods used by the wise sheriffs from the frontiers to defend an entire village despite being outnumbered and outgunned by gangs of robbers and bandits, and how you can use their wisdom to defend your home against looters when you'll be surrounded.
Native American ERIK BAINBRIDGE - who took part in the reconstruction of the native village of Kule Loklo in California, will show you how Native Americans build the subterranean roundhouse, an underground house that today will serve you as a storm shelter, a perfectly camouflaged hideout, or a bunker. It can easily shelter three to four families, so how will you feel if, when all hell breaks loose, you'll be able to call all your loved ones and offer them guidance and shelter? Besides that, the subterranean roundhouse makes an awesome root cellar where you can keep all your food and water reserves year-round.

They said they made it in 7 days. And land established had to be done quickly. So how the fuck can you wait a whole winter.. and where did they get saw dust from if all they used was axes 🪓

    • @LindaFirefighter03

@@lindanwfirefighter4973 I did it. It took me a whole day to do just a single one. The next day the spasms in my neck from swinging the broad ax all day made it impossible to do anything for a week. I use my chainsaw to do all the hand hewing now but even then it takes a LONG LONG TIME!

Ideally you would have felled the trees ahead of time and gave them a year or two to dry out. You can skip the drying phase but the logs will shrink a bit.

I used to use these same.methods when i worked in the woods as a teenager and that's exactly what we did we cut down the trees with bow.saws notched them out stripped the bark and made really nice bridges and fences. Yes you really could do all of this in 7 days. And yes practically free if you owned the woods. .

  • @beepseatsfindingfoodtreasu8756

Well it's not a cabin build. But there's truth here. I've been collecting the tools used in 1800's and after refurbishing them started to learn how to work with them. One thing I'm certain of, is that I can take raw wood and build anything I have a desire to build including fine furniture with the hand planes I have acquired. I am also proud to say I have the entire Fox fire collection. With all the information anyone would need to be self sufficient in just about any location. I started doing the projects in those books back in my early teens. I'd get one for Christmas and one on my birthday. So I had time to go through them and practice. Many decades have gone by since I learned those techniques and to this day I use quite a lot of them. I will say that I've probably saved anywhere from 60-100k over the years by doing things for myself and with the materials on hand. If you are young and willing to do some hard work. I'd suggest you find some land with the necessary materials and begin a homestead.
In that way, your going to be able to purchase it, get the tools you're going to need and the practice to use them correctly.
But when you come to the point where you are able to maintain a good life even without needing to buy things as we have become accustomed to. You then have the choice to continue working and get a pension or venture out on your own and create a job.
What I have learned is that everyone has a skill they've yet to discover. And in time it will be one or a few things you will master.
That's valuable now as it was then. We just forgot that when going to a factory was an easier way to earn a living. And buying mass produced items was easier than finding an artisan who made them. My point is,. Find your skill as you practice others.
Invariably you will be more self sufficient and you might discover you have a skill that others are more than willing to pay for.
But above all, you will have an inner confidence that no matter what the situation is. You have the knowledge to take it on and who doesn't love that feeling?

God can do what He wants, when He wants, and how He wants. Sometimes He does just put it on your table. Knowing and understanding His grace and that He makes miracles everyday is a key to understanding what it is to be a true Child of God. I am not saying that we shouldn’t pull up our sleeves and work, but I am saying to trust in your prayers and to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding, and He will direct your path”.

I was probably the only person not freaked out in the wake of hurricane michael. Yes the coast was bad. Mexico beach gone. 60 miles inland looked like a bomb blast. No communication, roads were buried under huge trees. And obviously no power.....
But i have a farm and plenty of food stores and access to water and fire.
I was also probably the only person who enjoyed the sudden thrust back into pioneer days..... i wanted to focus on cleanup and repair but everyone else was panicking over resources and road access..... we had plenty of resources! We didnt need food packages, MREs, etc....

Do you still think it is a cult or do you now see it as truth?

Let me tell you, as someone who's just looking for cabin building advice so I can make a shed that doesn't look like garbage, there is a DISTINCT tonal shift about five to six minutes in and it's the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. Sir. Sir, please. I just want to build a shed.
And wood takes longer than a day to dry, dude. It's like a year per inch thickness of the board, speaking as a former woodworker, unless you want your cabin to warp to shit and fall apart. Seriously, your presentation looks nice, but you're lacking in practicality. But what do you expect from someone who's bug out plan is probably "isolate yourself AND your family completely and stockpile ALL TEH GUNZZ"?
