I did this recipe 6-7 times already, everytime it is a winner. The pastry technique is the best out there, normally pastry is tend to shrink, this recipe never shrinks. I even use this recipe for other quiche / flan pastry making, even for desserts like Lemon Meringue Pies. Highly recommend
@@mollreb8777 I have two flan dishes and i get different results. The one with 4cm depth and 23cm diameter, a small ball of dough is left over. With that i do 5-6 jam tarts. If i use the shallower one, which is 3cm depth, a little more is left over which can do another little dish. I have a 19cm diameter one with 3cm depth, i was able to do a small quiche with that as extra.
Tried baking it today strictly as per the instructions in your dish....and it was a success story. An amazing recipe and today was the first time I ever made a Quiche ♥️ Love from India
When making quiche, it’s a good idea to places the cheese on the crust base BEFORE the other, wet ingredients. The cheese forms a layer of fat over the crust, preventing the crust from becoming mushy. ☺️
I made this wonderful Quiche using Swiss Chard , instead of spinach, grown in my vegetable garden. It was just very easy, VERY delicious, and THERE WAS NONE LEFT! 🙂
Did this for the 1st time. I did not have whole milk or cream so I used almond milk. I used a blend of white cheeses and Amish blue cheese. It turned out delicious! My family loved it! ❤️
Exceptional recipe. And an exceptional demonstration. I just made this recipe (sans nutmeg), and it's in the oven as I type this comment. This is my favorite combination of ingredients for quiche. I usually dash a bit of Tobasco sauce on my slice and.. heaven. Late comment but this video deserves to be high up on UA-cam's recommendation algorithm for quality recipes and cooking demonstration. I really like the music track, too. Perfect fit and makes the demonstration even more engaging to watch.
Agree…I found the music a perfect accompaniment to the demonstration. Will try making quiche soon cos I love eating them (mainly store-bought) and I know home-made ones would be infinitely better. 😋
I wish I had tried this earlier! It was the best quiche ever! I’m from India and such quiches are hard to find, I couldn’t believe that it could be made at home, with such steps that you explained very well. It was amazing! Can’t wait to make it again! Thank you so much!!
Can I just say, I think your really talented in cooking. You make the foods look so yum and made for a cooking magazine cover page. I think you techniques are great and so precise with measurements and the way you chop up foods is identical and neat . Great videos keep the good recipes coming our way 👍🏻
Thank you for another easy to follow recipe! I made quiche today for the first time using your steps and it turned out wonderful - the whole family absolutely loved it 🥰
I'm happy to say that I made your quiche recipe yesterday and it was delicious! It looked so great when I took out of the oven, that my husband took a photo. I also added bacon and replaced the cream with buttermilk. Love from Cape Town, SA😍😍😍
Great recipe! I did a modified version of it but it still came out spectacular. My boyfriend and I loved it! For the flour, I used oat flour (bought the oats and then food-processed them) and cornmeal. For heavy cream, I used 2% milk, 5 eggs, and butter. It was difficult to obtain the dough but eventually, it came out really good. I kept on adding more butter until I finally got a good consistency, but I will work on measurements next time. Regardless, the flavor and texture came out very nice. I also did variations of the spices and added olives and mushrooms. This recipe from The Cooking Foodie was amazing, though!!
I just did the base and refrigerated it. Ain’t got no spinach. So😊will assemble tomorrow and then let you know results. I love quiches so I want to try this one out. Thank you for sharing 🎉🎉was a pleasure to watch the video
I love this recipe!! I did change the cheese since i don't have any gruyère and gorgonzola but instead i only have cheddar cheese slice so i just use that and put some bacon on it.. Its amazing.. love it so much❤
As someone who is always on the go, I made these in a muffin pan to have multiple small quiche. As for baking the pie crust, I put a cupcake liner on top instead of parchment paper.
I am making this now. I am using a store bought pie crust. My quiche should be ready in 35 mins. I used grilled shrimp, grilled onions & green peppers with sauteed spinach.
Today I learned how to knead my own dough for a quiche!!! It looks like a quiche and I’m waiting for it to cool, but my son is ready to cut it up!!! I hope it tastes as good as it looks. Thanks so much for sharing the ingredients and process.
Exceptional sure-proof recipe! this (today) marks my second time following this recipe, excellent results. First try I did broccoli and onions with cheddar and Gorgonzola cheese, today i will be doing yellow courgettes grown from my garden onions and whatever cheese in the fridge. Thank you for this!
I will make this tomorrow .I used to cook a similar one 20 years ago.I cant be bothered to go out in the cold so will use my semi skimmed milk and the cream cheese i have instead.Plus spinach and some hard cheese.
Had to make this with an abundance of spinach, turned out lovely. Light and flakey, great crust recipe. Followed it exactly A+++++++++THanks for sharing.
@@kotdrot42 I disagree. I think the crust is the most difficult part, the cooking and assembling is the easiest. Making it is time consuming especially when you don't have a mixer.
Looking for a quiche to make today. Definitely making this one! A couple of things….would beat egg mix in a jug and pour over at end…easier and no need for ladle and probably not trim pastry till after baking in case it shrinks….otherwise a great well paced video, (not too sure about the music😂) lots of simple easy to follow instructions. A great combination of ingredients. Also fingers crossed….the temperature to cook the whole quiche is the same as blind baking pastry? Thank you.😊
I was given , years ago one of these pans to cook Quiche in like that one, but I prefer doing a bigger one in a deep dish pyrex pie pan, makes for a thicker more filling Quiche. I liked a ham or bacon and Broccoli quiche, but the Broccoli needs to be cut up small
Very professional💗 what if we cook the spinach less time like one minute instead of 7? vegetables that we can eat raw dont have to be Cooked for long.. Cus can lose their nutrients .. Use can cook it less, but 1 minute it's not enough. It must reduce in volume. You can't place 300g of raw spinach in this dish, there is no place. But after few minutes of cooking its reduces in volume.
Or better still not drain the liquids at all and just use less liquids or an additional egg for the batter. I do my batter with chickpeas as I'm a vegan and I never drain the spinach.

Good to hear that re shrinking, did you have much spare pastry over, this quantity is for just the one am
Guessing
