    It's awesome to see an amp review with someone who can actually play guitar WELL.
    And covers multiple styles instead of just strumming chords or shredding.

    by far the best review and advice based video on this amp. i was about to give up searching for the right settings and how the 3 modes per channel works before i saw this - thank you

    I just received mine yesterday afternoon, and used it on a gig last night,played it through a 2X12 pine cabinet loaded with Weber Silver Bell 12's, awesome sounding amp, I'm sure that I just basically touched on the tones that you can get out of this thing , and am looking forward to pairing it up with a 1936V cabinet , in a few weeks....you really don't need em' but I ran pedals in front of it and it handle them beautifully

    I think this is the best amp from marshall for all round player . You can go from jazz to metal and still have that classic marshall tone

    Can’t get wrong with Marshall. This is the latest amp I owned. I owned JMP 1959 hw, JCM 900 , JCM 2000 , JCM tsl 2000 and Jvm 210h . Love them all.

    I love it. Best sounding amp I've owned and I've had a lot of amps. But it is my first Marshall. I'm completely satisfied with it and I feel I got my money's worth. My bassplayer says I shudda got a Fender Twin Reverb but who can go whrong with a Marshall.

    these amps are great for anyone who likes having amps modded. I have a 410h that has a negative feedback mod, fender blackface mod on clean ch, plexi mod on crunch channel, jcm800 mod on od1 and dual rec mod on od2-red. The mods are VERY convincing and I had mine wired to switches on the back so I can go back to stock at the flip of a switch so I essential turned 12ch/modes into 22ch/modes....AWESOME!!!!

      Who does these mods?

    • @daniellager843
      @daniellager843 4 роки тому

      Vladimir Erfan Any competent tech can do them, they’re not that difficult and if you search the JVM Forum Santiago Alvarez, Marshall amp designer (JCM800 and JVM) is the one who created the mods and even provided schematics!!!!

    I have a 410h and assuming its the same, the answer to your question is no. The eq is set per channel so what ever you have the eq at on channel one will apply to all three modes, green/orange/red. Not familiar with a gt100 but with a programable midi footswitch you can set up eq within your pedal so that you can change it that way but the amp itself is one eq per channel. You could use the od green (ch2) instead of clean/crunch orange with a different eq though...hope that helps

    I love how the clean channels on ANY amp being reviewed is given a 10 second jangle and then ..... the next 10 minutes is spent on the dirt.

      +James Brady I'll add this and step.....Artists who play blues, rock, etc, use clean tones quite a bit. It's nothing to do with anything. It's just it's a rarity that a review includes a decent showcase of the clean channel. I personally use a Hand wired Vox AC30 and JTM 50 Bluesbreaker. And I play them clean quite a bit

    the jvm rocks,they sound better than on youtube.No diode distortion either ALL valve saturation.
    I've only seen one vid on yt that does it justice(and its not this one).

    In comparison with the JVM410H, would you say that the drive channel of the 205H is similar to the OD1 or the OD2 channel of the 410H ?

    People rag on the JVM series...but these are some pretty nice amp. It's quite telling when you can go from bell-like clean tones with a Les Paul and Marshall combination to modern hard rock tones (perhaps metal). I'm thinking of biting the bullet.

    I just bought a JVM205H 50w. What are your panel tone settings on the clean and overdrive channels? I play classic rock and heavy metal.

  • @sleepwalker2112
    @sleepwalker2112 12 років тому

    I will buy a JVM soon, just not sure what to choose between the 205h, the 210h and the 410h. I'm not much of a crunch player so I guess channel 2 on the 410 wouldn't be of any use for me. I'm just not sure if I would regret not getting the OD1 of the 410. I guess I'll go try them again (I played a 410 3 years ago) and see for myself but I wanted to know what you guys think.

    I have a question regarding storing your setting on a foot switch.
    Whe you save a clean channel green mode on foot switch or on a multi effect processor Ex. Boss Gt 100 via MIDI .
    Does the saved channel allows me to have different eq. Settings volume settings / gain settings. Within tge same channel.
    Example channel one green gain 12 mids 2 high 6 bass 4 , reverb on . Store this . Now same channel orange to use different EQ., gain etc Setting. Can the amp recall different EQ/ volume setting?

    Can you get a good modern metal tone at say, conversation level volumes with this amp?

    • @AmericanMusicalSupply
      @AmericanMusicalSupply  7 років тому +2

      For a good metal tone at lower volumes you should look into a lower wattage tube amplifier, a 15-20 Watter like Marshall's Mini Silver Jubilee at AMS - goo.gl/nrZvJ2

    • @terrylafauci791
      @terrylafauci791 7 років тому +1

      American Musical Supply well I ask because, not too long ago I had the chance to jam through the evh 5150 III 100 watt head and it sounded amazing at volumes I could easily talk over and I was just curious if this could do the same. I've heard a lot of good things about how it performs at low volumes.

      Get an attenuator if you want power tube distortion. I played one at Guitar Center and it sounded decent with the master low.

    will this do 59 plexi tones

    • @AmericanMusicalSupply
      @AmericanMusicalSupply  8 років тому +2

      Hi Thunder, the JVM205H offers a lot of tones, but not really a solid Plexi tone. Some people are using mods on the JVM205 to achieve a Plexi tone, but it would require operations that would void any warranty.

      +American Musical Supply hah that's funny I was order this from you guys. guess I'll go with the plexi. 50 watt plexi that is. you guys plan on running any specials for 12 payments on marshall anytime soon

    • @AmericanMusicalSupply
      @AmericanMusicalSupply  8 років тому

      Unfortunately we are not currently planning to carry any JTM45 Reissues at this time. Some other Plexi options would be the 1987XL here - goo.gl/tPCaqR
      and the 1959HW (HandWired) here - goo.gl/tEfTeG

    All these high gain amps just don't have the character and dynamic response of the classic Marshalls that were all in existence before the JCM 800 series came to be. I'll take a 1959 or a 2203 over any modern Marshall and if I want more gain, there's a pedal or a mod for that.

    • @eBagJones
      @eBagJones 4 роки тому +3

      Yes instead of getting your clipping from an all tube signal path you should by a tube amp and get some of your gain from a solid state stomp box. Great advice old timer.

    Too many knobs and PC boards should NEVER have tube sockets mounted on them.
    It totally mystifies why Marshall doesn't play in the modded Plexi Super Lead market that they basically gave birth to. Most of their product is so down market and, frankly, pretty cheaply manufactured.
