They're all in there (the Marshall classics), you've just got to coax them out. 4 channels and 3 distinctive modes per channel will give you everything from the 1962 through to the more recent shred machines. It's a big, badass beast of a thing and I'm still learning to ride it, but I thought you might be amused at a look at my first day in the ring. I love this thing!
    Today's tools:
Guitar: Gibson Ltd. Ed '76 Explorer Reissue (the pickups are too hot and I'll be changing them soon).
Amp: Marshall JVM410H and Laney LT212 (G12H) cab
    Cables: Various
    Mic: Samson Airline77 (me)
Camera: iPhone X (me and stills) and Nikon D5100 (amp)
Soundcard: PreSonus Quantum & Fractal Audio Systems Axe-FX III (guitar, mixing and bouncing).
Monitors: Blue Sky Media Desk 2.1
Computer: Apple iMac 27" i7 3.4 GHz 16 GB RAM
Software: Logic Pro X, Waves Plugins, Apple Final Cut Pro X (video editing and UA-cam compression).

Yes it is. I missed my 2204 after selling it but the jvm I had came so close to that 800 sound and many others. Marshall would struggle to design anything better as an all rounder. Master volume and di was excellent too.

From one Aussie to another; so many knobs, so many tones! I love my 2555x but the nuance each channel allows on the JVM (while keeping its brash character) is impressive. Great playing!

I bought myself a JVM410H in late 2014 - (my first Marshall) paired mine with a 1960AX cab and I love it, I have tried the JCM 800 and Silver Jubilee 100w heads since then, and while I really like those I prefer the JVM I think partly because I'm just used to it, and its layout makes finding and switching sounds so easy, thanks to the 4 channels. But I did get a 20w "Studio Series" Silver Jubilee combo for when I go for a jam.

Great demo. Funny enough I've owned one of these--along with a 1960A cab--for a dozen years, but for the last 10 it has sat mostly idle in the corner of my "room of rock", displaced in my musical heart by a series of Fractal products. But every now and then I fire it up again and am always impressed by that huge, beautiful sound!

Best thing Marshall released in the last 20 years. Got mine 4? 5? years ago, and basically bought it for the clean channel 😊. I don‘t care much for its high gain stuff - never really used the OD channels - but the Clean and Crunch sections provide 50 shades of marshally goodness alone. Oh, and do check out the way the tone controls work on Clean - if I remember correctly, they sit before the gain stages and interact differently with one another and Gain than they do Crunch and OD. The Mid control especially works almost like a secondary gain function - bag it if you want less gravelly sounds.

I have a JVM 205H and 1960A cab w/ Celestion 75s. Way, way, way too much gain staging in the OD channel. Mods to reduce this are very popular. The stock 1960A cab is thin and tinny (not surprising Bergs is using Laney cab with different speakers....). In its defense, midi control is awesome, footswitch is great. Keeping it b/c I want to die knowing that I own a Marshall half-stack.....but my pedalboard is always plugged into a Hot Rod Deluxe. Brett's Boss ES-8 video did it for me. My pedalboard is damn-near identical. Rock On.

It is a lot of different tones in one but also a LOT more to go wrong!Cheaply made, whoever came up with the bright idea to mount the power tubes on the PC board should be smacked really hard lol! When you cram all that different switching and stuff into one amplifier it makes it a technician's nightmare, the best amplifier I've played as far as Channel switching amps go is the metropoulos Metroplex! It is also a PC board amp, but the board is almost a quarter of an inch thick built like a tank! @phantasmagora6542 4 роки тому

@@ze-ce.cra_ I used that configuration for a while. The issue with the stock JVM410H, though, is that OD2 has a built-in mid shift that centers around 500khz, rather than the typical Marshall 650khz. This gets you a thinner scooped sound typical of modern metal, which I personally don't like for rhythm guitar, much less lead.
The JVM410HJS is cool in that respect; the OD1 and OD2 channels are voiced the same, but both can be mid-shifted via a button. This gives you more options as well as separate EQ control if you want to use OD1 and OD2 as rhythm and lead channels respectively.

DEFINITELY not at the same price point if you're going at 100W if you are in europe, not even Mesa Boogie. I own a JVM410 h and it's the ultimate Rock amp to me. Slightly modded with the typical mods you find in the net ... it's awesome. I don't neeed any other drive amp. Brett try it with a Strat ... and see how the high gain sounds great even with single coils!!

The Swiss Army Knife of Marshall Amps. And to think you didn't even toss any pedals in there ! LOL These can be scored for low money used comparatively speaking, making them a killer deal.

Stay in tune? I tried what Angus' guitar tech showed us in Rig Rundown for my Gibson. I used to wind my strings on normal or that messy way where you kind of tie a knot. The way he does it is interesting. One wrap over the string going thru the hole and the rest under. It locks the string and my guitar now stays in tune really well. The nut has to be right though.

There’s just too much choice in good sounding, reasonably affordable gear these days, doesn’t help when people like you demo and rekindle GAS.
You should have a health warning ⚠️ on your channel.

A comment on Marshall head amp Design : I find them completly huggly ! Not possible to adopt one in my living room.

Personally never liked these type of Marshall's, way to scratchy and noisy sounding. It's like you have music and you have noise that comes through any audio reproduction, on these type of Marshall's the noise is through the roof.
    Prefer the real classic amps.
