Good video and review! Love the sense of humor😂 Also… I would have liked to have seen a slightly thinner case with polished chamfers on the top and bottom of the case.😊
@Jason-hv4eu Hahahah glad you liked it mate! ✌️😂 having chamfers is a really good idea for increasing comfort and having that illusion of extra thinnes, good idea! 💯
That bracelet is a beaut, the name is a bit weird and the price is higher than id like but I can't deny it's a very good looking watch. Wish they sold the bracelet on its own tho.
@@nekrozclockwork The bracelet is really my favorite part about it too, would have easily been a good seller if it was sold separately Appreciate that you share your thoughts! 😊
I am amazed that anyone is still buying Seikos today as there are so many microbrands producing far better watches WITH THE SAME MOVEMENTS at a fraction of the price ! It goes to show just how much the brand name matters (probably also explains rolex continued success given how poorly they treat their customers)
@@ccooper8785 Indeed! I think though that most people are mall shoppers to be honest or new to watches, however there are still long time enthusiasts siding with Seiko for reasons I dont share, such as *brand heritage*. That just means nothing to my wrist, eyes or wallet tbh 😂 And yeah, Rolex is just for the name most of the time I believe. I would *never* bend over to an Authorized-Dealer for a watch, but hey, thats just me! Im not here to judge. I mean I would still buy a Rolex someday if I was treated like a customer and not second class citizen when walking in to a boutique. Would probably flip it either way after I get bored of it lol
I guess a lot of it is down to brand name. My friends who've gotten into watches very recently (past 2 years) seem to view Seiko as mid-end rather than entry level. Just like Rolex, the brand name often matter more than quality or features.
There are still plenty of nice Seiko designs that aren't repeated often by microbrands. Presage, Alpinist, Turtle. A little overpriced? Sure. But it's not like it's a luxury brand price and it's better to spend a bit more on the exact watch you want than a watch that's a better bargain.
Proactive excellence due to a caring working mind and speaking of shine the Love the care that my dear friend brings to the channel and outstanding presentations does shed that never ending Light to many persons to amplify that ongoing Light and greatness in them, in all. Nice looking watch! Not totally sold on the brandname/logo. Do you think this watch would be OK to wear to a court trial where the person (not me) was being accused of stealing 1200 DVD copies of the 2013 film Pacific Rim? Asking for a friend.
@@eelpharm Thanks for commenting mate! This watch would definitely not suit such a court case unfortunately. I think the accussed would stand a better chance in court wearing the Addiesdive Godzilla watch: ua-cam.com/video/BPa4TQEA0cg/v-deo.html

@@RIOLOGYthanks buddy. I have decided to buy this watch during the 11.11 AliX sale. It was either this watch or the 36mm brown dial Baltany Explorer in your other video -- but I decided on this one because I really want to wear a watch with a baby blue strap and the white dial on this watch could work nicely with it.
I have not heard of this micro brand. But the watch design is traditional but handsome. YN55 movement is accurate & price wise should be reasonable. Quality finish.
Seiko just doesn't care about 'us': critical enthusiasts. At the pricepoint their watches used to be up until, say, 6 years ago, a lot of people were convinced they did care, or at least had some reasons to believe they wanted to. We should have known better. Seiko has become too big to compete with microbrands on specs, and just like any other major watchbrand has raised prices without rasing specs in any meaningful way. I bought a limited edition Alpinist, new and at retail, last year. No regrets. But why anyone with common sense and without my history with Alpinists would spend that kind of money on that watch I don't know. It might well be the last Seiko I ever bought at retail.
@@Bob.martens totally understandable that you went for a watch that means something special to you, even if it isn't competitive in "objective" value. The value it has to you can be priceless because of other reasons than specs and quality 😊 And I agree with you, new enthusiasts looking for good deals will look elsewhere, only mall shoppers that hasn't been exposed to better deals wikk buy them. However, that seems like the majority of consumers anyways. I mean good for Seiko, but would have been nice to get a brand new SKX007 for the good old price...
