I remember seeing those types of rigs in Chicago in 97. As an 8 year old I found all of those trucks very interesting. I remember Chicago was one of the fire departments where you could see several active apparatus still using the Mars lights. Which I wonder why did the Econoline 350 ambulances use the single Mars light above the cab? Was that outdated in the 90s? Perhaps even late 80s? I saw that type of ambulance in 97 and it looked strange to me also.
Great video!
Fantastic seeing the old rigs. I grew up in the late 70s 80s
Old school and the sound of diesel, THANKS!

Man 1995 station was open i live right by the station and it a Museum now
I was in Navy boot camp at Great Lakes NTC north of Chicago when the incidents in this video took place
Engine 61 was still around o
I saw a picture of engine 61 and it looked like one of today's fire engines
Like the old rigs.
I was assigned to that Firehouse for 3 years
Isn't 61 where squad 3 was stationed?
I consider it "back then" since pretty much all the rigs in this video have since been retired. lol
No their old vehicles become their spares
They turned Engine 61 house into a medical field office now.
WEDIDNOTSUCK98 that’s sad...... too much medical stuff now. It’s getting ridiculous
oh man was this when they still wore quarter boots haha
59th & State is 61's still. 84 should have been put out of service.
It was politics that kept 84 and got rid of 61
