Chicago Fire Department Squad 5 Response
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Squad 5 is a two-vehicle response unit (1) heavy rescue/multi-utility truck and (2) a snorkel truck that runs out of Engine 116 firehouse where Ambulance 49 is also quartered. The video is a mix of two responses -- one to a garage fire and the other to a report of a man in trouble in the water in Lake Michigan. Not all video segments are in order. The views out the front are to the water rescue. Quick interior view shows firefighter getting prepared by changing into water rescue gear. Most of the views out the back are during the response to the garage fire -- both calls on Saturday, July 9, 2011.

Report on Englewood neighborhood coming later ... stay tuned.
I love Chicago rigs!! Best looking around, I believe!!
Me too!
The only thing with the 2nd piece squad they would still need a engine 2 feed them water now if it had a pump on that truck it would make sence 4 it being a sqaud.But all it is is a mini rescue truck & a mini ladder truck.
Dept. was much bigger in the early days- 129 Engines, now 96. Companies & houses get consolidated, why change the numbers, E42 & T3 used to have separate houses, now they're together, why change the #s. Ambulances came along much later #s 1-60 ALS, 80-93 BLS
You rode with Squad Co. 5,
Lucky!
nothing pisses you off more when people dont get out of the way
"If you're gonna be a dog, be a bulldog." Squad 5
I would pay to ride along. I wish they would let the regular folks do this kind of thing again. I would sign every release in the book.
are squads very busy in chicago? i only ask this because i know that they are only called out to certain calls and those calls aren't very often. or are they? i don know much about chicagos fire dept.
Wedding Films squads respond to working fires, extra alarms, pin-in accidents, hazmats, water rescues, airplane distress calls, confined space rescues, and technical rescues. Squad 5 is in the ghetto of Chicago and is very busy. In The 80's, Squad 5 was the busiest firefighting company in the U.S.
Well yes it's because the rest of CFD isn't really good firefighter
I miss the days of working on SS-1 out of Orleans St. Former Commish Hoff was a member of SS-1 when I was there and it was good to see him a few years back. Great to see the real Squad concept has remained in Chicago. However difficult, change is good too....except for 1A being the Snorkel? Too bad the Flying Manpower Squads are gone to but CFD remains the greatest!
Are you a firefighter or spectator?
Wow nice responses
thank for the video i miss the city r from librty ky
@MultiMonster69 i love the fucking squads to im obsessed
Bobcat1Deere2Cat3 I agree completely
@1:03 close call w/ the snorkel
I'm on a squad in a volunteer dept. our squad is nice but Vfd squads make ours look small
Every Fire Department is different.
Some wear head-sets and some doesn't.
why doest Chicago use q2b?
59th street looks ghetto af !! The company’s in that area def get a ton of work 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@stvfd1805 you are so right
@walleyeking23 Indianapolis FD let's you sign a form & do ride-alongs.
i fuckin love the squads.particularly the auxilary snorkels.
MultiMonster69 Just don't understand how it's part of the squad it's a mini snorkel & that's it i could c if it was a quint snorkel but it's just a mini snorkel nothing speical.
@@chrispartlow4533 They had one piece snorkel rigs in the 1990's but the snorkel rigs couldn't handle the weight of the tools so they started running tool box and snorkel and still do to this day.
@jazzbutterworth Chicago has tightened the reins ever since Truck 51 rolled and killed a Fireman.
225 let this slide?
@MrRyannHD ?
