Thank you for taking the time to make this video! Great content, answers a lot of my questions. I also appreciate the videos of each neighborhood, it’s kind of similar to what I wanted to do in September but I wasn’t able to travel as planned. Definitely taking notes 📝 Thanks again!
Great video. A map would come in handy for those of us interested in relocating to Wilmington, but with limited familiarity with the neighborhood locations.
I have a full page of notes from this video so thank you for making it Jake! We’re officially moving within the next 2 months and will be in the Forest Hills neighborhood temporarily until we find a permanent home. I’ll definitely email you as we get closer to looking for a house as we will be under $350k. Thanks for the video and keep them coming! (:
This is one of the best if not, the best video I've seen explaining Neighborhoods, thank you so much, and I'm really looking forward of the Hampstead video. Great job
Thanks Jake! What do you know about Murraysville? Are you able to give me any info on it? I live in the Charlotte area but plan on moving to the Wilmington are at the end of this year or sooner. Thanks again Jake!
Murraysville is made up of several smaller neighborhood HOAs on the northern end of town. Lots of younger families. located just outside of Wilmington City limits so this area only pays County of New Hanover property taxes. average homes range in price from $300k for a smaller 3bd/2ba up into the high $400ks. Very popular area due to proximity to shopping and beaches. Happy answer any specific questions if you want to reach me at Jake@movingwilmington.com!
I used to live in Northchase and Quail Woods. Northchase took a big hit with Florence. Quail Woods has only one street access from Murrayville and the traffic it’s awful, specially after the new neighborhood built in the back.
I knew North Chase would be on the list! I just moved out of that neighborhood 2 weeks ago..... and I'm really sad about it honestly!! We loved the neighborhood. It is very sought after, we were lucky to live there for almost 5 years when our landlord forced us to move so he could sell the house.
Thanks for watching! This video was shot in 2020, over that period home prices in Wilmington have increased on average 35%. We have some much more recent videos on our channel if you looking at the area. Also happy to help with any question including pricing etc if you would like to reach out directly Jake@MovingWilmington.com
I have a question about NC we really want to move to Hampstead or around the area. The problem we are finding is all these houses are in heavy development areas we do NOT want to be in a house to house cramped area we are looking for some privacy and land is that even possible?
Hi Cindy, that's a laugh- I'm interested in almost the exact same. Plan on making the move in the Oct Nov time frame,. Originally from Ct, but been in Dallas Tx for a year- and it's just too crowded, I like the south but don't want to be in a big city type place anymore. I think you have to look north of rt 17, for properties with land maybe as far out as Rocky Point. I like areas in around the castle bay golf course but i'll be able to tell better when i get a chance to get out there and look around next month. good luck
@@GRpd-nh7hl funny we are in CT too .. the taxes are terrible 😞 we are looking a couple years out from now everyone is moving out of CT its so expensive to live here.
was in wilmington in march wanted to rent an apartment to take time to look around and see where want to move a realtor told me this is not a rent friendly town few places i saw where dumps so nothing to rent in wilmington???
Wilmington has had a housing shortage as well as rental shortage for about 3 years… a lot of growth and people moving here and unfortunately not enough place for them to live and rent currently. There are very nice rentals in the area but they have gone up significantly in price
Unfortunately no.....this video was from Oct 2020. Prices have gone up approx. 30% or more. These homes that were $350,000 are about $450,000 in todays market.
This aged well. You’ll need 300k minimum for a home that was 160k 2 years ago. I’m hoping the market crashes by the end of this year so I can pick something up at the end of my lease
My daughter and her husband bought a house in Holly Ridge, I like it a lot of old houses but my husband is Chinese and came from the place with high rise building up to 30th floors and a lot of supermarkets a d restaurannts, and he is not used countryside, so go back to california
Can you do a new video with 2023 pricing ? be interesting to see the increase post pandemic

Quail Woody it’s located in Murrayville neighborhood
I used to live in Northchase and Quail Woods. Northchase took a big hit with Florence. Quail Woods has only one street access from Murrayville and the traffic it’s awful, specially after the new neighborhood built in the back.
Just a heads up that a part of Quail Woods does have an HOA.
That is true and no benefits. Just cleaning the main dishes and sweep the streets every blue moon

They have issues with flooding lately

Just an FYI: Bayshore is Holly Shelter Middle eff 2020-2021 school year
Those schools aren’t next to each other. Anderson, Murray and Ashley are the schools that are on the same road.

Good info. I. In a different demographic looking for one level 2-3 bedrooms, less than $350. Any places in these areas?
2101 Shirley Road Wilmington nc
Are they still those prices?
Unfortunately no.....this video was from Oct 2020. Prices have gone up approx. 30% or more. These homes that were $350,000 are about $450,000 in todays market.
I wouldn’t say all of Bayshore is under 350k.
Absolutely not! All of these neighborhoods will have some higher priced homes. However entry level you can get into this community under $350k.
Bayshore first houses built in the 1960's
Brenwyck is not in the city limits.
You are correct that is outside of Wilmington City limits. I must have misspoken in the video.
@@livinginwilmington2783 One of the many reasons we bought in this neighborhood!
Northchase = flooding
Was thinking of retiring there but, With all those Biden and Harris signs I'll stay were I am.
the area tends to vote purple .....a little right and a little left.

I like your house. Where are you?
They have nearly doubled the prices 2022 on most of these homes unfortunately
On average about 35% increase in our market since this video and the time I am writing this.

Holy Ridge is about 45 minutes north of Wilmington...pretty rural still but nice. My family loves Wilmington, no plans to move.
