I'm so glad this came across my recommended videos. I've been watching people like TJ Hunt for a while now and his bunk ass setups made me appreciate the how well-put together, thought out and measure twice cut once meta that you guys seam to have. Love the build from what i've seen and keep it up.
Run oil injection and synthetic 2 stroke oil injected into the intake for total loss with the dry sump. make go in and catch it with some vro pumps feeding into the intake manifold with castor 927 maxima. tis will make the best out of all these crap 4 stroke we power cars with. never liked them never will.
First off, this is my first comment ever on youtube, and it is only because I'm such a huge fan of the build, Matt and all the guys helping out with the project. You are my favorite series on youtube hands down. I check in daily for new episodes(yes daily im a huge fan)... I'm starving for a new Ep you guys gotta throw me a bone lol I hope all is going well for everyone in the garage and that we get a juicy episode soon :)
I'm confused about the Dry Sump placement. You were talking about being worried of a wheel or fender hit taking out the stock sump, but then you pushed the dry sump as far out as you could by cutting frame out of it. Aren't you worried you're putting it in the same danger the stock one was?
Oil supply will come from the tank, not the sump, so worse case scenario where you smash the sump, you will still have oil supply and pressure until you use everything in the tank. If they take a hit that hard I should hope they realise it and check the car over, rather than waiting for the tank to run dry.
i would use it with oil injection and synthetic 2 stroke oil for total loss burn off. All these care are powered with 4 stroke crap anyways but at least you can converts some 4 strokes to 2 strokes like this: ua-cam.com/video/pz83bWDwbVY/v-deo.html its a honda gx done up as a 2 stroke. if i was going with dry sump i would force it one way, catch the 2 stroke oil and inject it into the intake manifold with vro pumps from an rx-7 for total loss burn off and no filter.
Hey could you guys do a video about the importance of power steering and why these guys prefer to drift without it? He does say a couple time that he is one of the few people that uses the power steering while adding the parts.
Should be mounted in the trunk. As you can use a smaller tank. But you get the extra capacity from the longer lines. Up to 4 quarts can be gained. As putting them close to the engine. They get hot just from engine\header\turbo under the hood. Just a suggestion.
I doubt it, the FD Corolla has the tank inside, at the passenger footwell but boxed in a fireproof box, the rules states the tank has to be separated from the driver. I don't know if the rules stipulates anything further, but I don't see why a separate line tunnel, or simply run it under the car wouldn't satisfy the rules.
Was thinking the same myself, most racecars I've seen with drysump has the tank in the back to further help with the cooling and quality of the oil because there's a extra few L in the lines, plus it's colder than above the headers and helps with weight balance
Linken200 - you are spot on, sitting between the rails or deep in the chassis offers the best protection for the system as well... maybe a regulation thing ?
Matt (in my opinion) has always been a crowd favorite, his cars are stylish and stand out amongst the others in the pack! But! if you get in a gnarly front ender, and break a frame rail, (im assuming its gonna break and not "bend") how do you fix it? You can't make a conventional tube front... Seems like a 1 crash car, unless theres something obvious im missing!
The drysump tank is level but, is the car on jack stands level? If the car isn't level the tank won't sit level lol! Either way it doesn't matter as long as it's upright! looking good!
In drifting you go lock to lock very quickly and a lot causing friction thus causing heat so you add a cooler to keep the PS fluid cool so it doesn't boil over onto the headers and cause a fire.
If your wheel crashes into your dry sump tank, your day is already over....why worry about it's placement at that point?..... So instead of using the sump that fits, they cut into the chassis to use one that doesn't fit... Not great decision making.
Can we please get some different music? Or no music at all? I love the build, but man this music is horrid! Annoying af when I'm trying to hear what you're saying, just makes everything sound so chaotic! Not to mention it's repetitive. Try something more subtle.

Accomplishes 10X more in one episode than those clowns at Hoonigan, and calls himself unproductive. Dude, i love you! Don't stop please!!

Dang, the attention to detail on this build is next level.
Did you throw a wheel on and turn full lock to check clearance on that can?
So excited to see this car when its done!

It's further back in the wheel well
Love all the professional drift car builders in the comment section giving advice.
Love this series. Cool to see a pro level FD build every stage of the way.
MAN THIS BUILD IS FANTABULOUS!!!
This youtube channel is so awesome, so original content always and crazy builds
don't know why but this series is awesome
Matt "Riv-nut" Fields shows us how to install a dry sump system

Bring this back please.
Matt in his new chassis against Chelsea that would be RAD can’t wait for FD 2018
ForThePeople I love those guys
Always look forward for more of this build. Keep it up!
another video of the upmost decent quality.
i like
You sir, are correct!
I enjoyed this sir. I look forward to your next video.
Pryde Racing Me too if it ever comes out
Coming along nicely fellas!

Why do you need power steering filter? Never even heard about such a thing.
Wow awesome video straight to the point and lot of fabrication love it my new favorite Channel
is fd rules against oil lines through cockpit?
It looks like the lines that will be running through the cabin will only be water not oil.
I think the rule books ok with running lines through the car, just no connections, it has to run straight through from bulkhead to firewall

Can you guys make a Up To Speed, on Corvette? Plz??
nah dude
Why?
There Lit
Will you be uploading the everything you need to know about mr2 video again?
U Rock! Great off the top mechanical bro
Probably too late now but why not put the oil tank in the trunk?
Was thinking the same myself, most racecars I've seen with drysump has the tank in the back to further help with the cooling and quality of the oil because there's a extra few L in the lines, plus it's colder than above the headers and helps with weight balance

Love the build man keep up the good work👌

CleavingCleaver damn, back to the s14.5 then
hey matt big fan. love this series. i have a little corvette project too. what are you doing with your old dry sump tank?
Any particular reason running a mechanical fuel pump? Or is it only a secondary pump?
Idk whats going on... but it looks cool!
The drysump tank is level but, is the car on jack stands level? If the car isn't level the tank won't sit level lol! Either way it doesn't matter as long as it's upright! looking good!
great video. I did not catch why the vette dry sump was not adequate. please explain a little for me please. thank you
So where the dry sump ended up how much different is it to where the corvette specific placement is?
your gona have to hook up a fan to bottom of the hood to cool it down .even more for more hp and better cooling off period.
Iam here unusually early - so I guess, Have a nice day!
Where did you order your parts?
What's a normal oil temp on a dry sump system when fully warmed through?
I just wanna know about which scavenge pump will be more efficient electric or mechanical
Please make a video about dry sump and wet sump oiling systeeemmm!!! Thanks!!
Yay new video by donut media!
I'm waiting for the Up To Speed (UTS, Cuz I'm lazy!) Especially on the holy Chevrolet Corvette!
Woah nice!
I know right?
Why does all the timelapse footage look somehow smoother than other timelapses I've seen
What did you use to put those rivnuts in?
Michael Graper Nut & bolt, matt doesn’t like the rivnut guns
More shit done than every car youtuber combine
Francis Mc Raymond cough cough mighty car mods
Why dont you put it next to the driver seat? Like in a race car...
6,66 milion subs. Nice
If the intake plenum is fan cooled it makes more hp.
where is the new video?
So you're cutting sheet metal/fiberglass with the no valve covers on the heads? 👀👀👀 Bruuhh wtf
pretty sure that's just a mock up engine
Just a mock engine as the other one is getting built
What’s the difference between a frame rail and a chassis
Rodger Johanasberg frame rails are a part of the chassis, the chassis is made up of the frame rails as well as engine bay, cabin, ECT.
Thanks man
They don't use electric steering on these vehicles now?
Slowly but surely
Power steering cooler? I wonder how important that is?
Pretty important when your PS oil boils over, spills all over the headers and catches fire... so ya, important.
Gearhead Daily why would it boil over, never heard of that happening??
Because it doesn't have a cooler lol
Frank, because racing and drifting especially, you use a shit ton of steering input, which causes heat.
In drifting you go lock to lock very quickly and a lot causing friction thus causing heat so you add a cooler to keep the PS fluid cool so it doesn't boil over onto the headers and cause a fire.
You really should wear a mask when doing any work with fiberglass.
Sox4life 👍🏻
Could’ve used this in the new Subarus
Yes, I'd like to work with y'all.
Email them
New video?
what? no riv nuts??
Can u make a up to speed on the Porsche
How not to blow your welds on the intake
C6 VETTE
If you guys want an inexperienced guy working with you I’m a quick learner! Lol probably the worst way to get a job lol

Nothing was cut on the chassis at all.
riv nuts where?
let's say Group B Class rally magically comes back from the dead what car do you use
EASY!!! USE A 4AGE. Uhmmm ;)
Cowl induction and extraction? Yea good luck with airflow.
Like 1000 fuck yeah
Drifter
Everyone please google the freaking questions you have. UA-camrs don't have time to answer everything
sry but dry sump not help in not blowing engines
Solve favor helicopter kgsxvx diminish airplane hand grip jeans rule.
Can we please get some different music? Or no music at all? I love the build, but man this music is horrid! Annoying af when I'm trying to hear what you're saying, just makes everything sound so chaotic! Not to mention it's repetitive. Try something more subtle.
You should be driving!!!!! leave the building for the team
Matt is the driver & fabricator. No arrive and drive ba here!
Og boost Junkie he is not Tj hunt
i hate lsx
Why?
Lol got those expensive ass Russell fittings and can't even name the nomenclature of the "unit" Jesus
