I use carpro descale acid soap to remove old coatings, mineral deposits and water spots. Good stuff
Great video and glad you shared this in your content. Definitely going to give this a try over the acid I have used in the past.
I’ve used it a few times now. It really hits the throat hard, so I think I’m going to start using a mask when I use it. I like to just spray it on in shade, clean the wheels and tires, and by the time I’m done that it’s ready to be rinsed off. I find that it cuts a lot of time off of my clay towel procedure. Most of the time there is very little roughness left to clay. Next time I do a clay though, I’m going to leave a section without Crystal wash to see how much it reduced the contamination before claying.
Oh yeah! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
This is the first time that I’ve seen an underbody washer system attached to the spray gun. WOW! That is really cool.
I enjoy your honest and straightforward descriptions & warnings of products. You and your bride are to be congratulated on the business you have established. 👍👍 All the best from Ontario 🇨🇦
Thanks!! 😎👍🏼
Wow! Loved it. Jamie the cleaner used it in direct sunlight and let it dry until it totally crystalized, which the label says NOT TO DO, lol he was in a cooler climate at the time. Like you said, paint should be cool to the touch. Then he just rinsed it off. So I got 2 gallons last week but haven't used it yet. Your video was excellent. I'm really looking forward to it. Tomorrow is the day. Also Monday's appointment. Thanks Phil. Fortunately for me the p&S factory is only an hour from my house and I talk to the guys a lot. So Monday I will give them a call to thank them for the product.
I know right!! Pretty cool stuff!
@MirandaDetailing The first time years ago I used it and it was the last time I used it outside since it reacted fast on our hot temperature, so from there on just use it at the garage😜
@@MirandaDetailingone soap that I don't see people talking about is IRS also from P and S. I have used it and liked it better than Pearl
Great video! I’ve been using crystal wash in my pre wash process with great results. I let it crystallize and then I foam an alkaline apc over it and then rinse.
Cool! Thanks for sharing.
Are you using this process on coated cars? Both this acid wash and apc before contact wash? There are only a few times during the winter when I need a strong pre-rinse, but looking for a good strong wash, but it would still be a maintenance wash, would not want to remove coating.
@@punkish7 Hi. You can use it on coated vehicles. its completely fine. A true Ceramic Coating is not going to be easily removed with chemicals like this. in fact these products are formulated to use on coating to deep clean them.
this is why you don't quit you tube this video right here is awesome I have this in my garage for details and used it and no one put a video like this and this stuff works just like you showed.keep up the good work.
Glad I could help
I've been using Crystal Wash for a while now. Sydni Brae Gwinn from P&S turned me onto it. It works really well with my winter rinseless wash regimen.
Awesome!
They really say don't use on plastic trim? How can you pre-spray without hitting the plaatic trim some. I Need products I can trust not products that I have to we scared to use.
Test in an inconspicuous area. Absolutely. I tried cleaning a (work) keyboard with my tar remover, just to see what would happen. Melted the plastic. Lesson learned! Ps the keyboard was being replaced anyway 😂
Aw man!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the video Phil haven’t tried this yet but might add after watching.
Acids can be great. I watch an Aussie guy who does 25-75 hour details. So different to your business. I have zero affiliation but it’s car craft auto. (Detailing porn)
I’ve gone back 6 years and watched his videos. He has changed in the last couple of years.
He swears by an alkaline pre rinse and then an acid hand wash.
I don’t use what he uses. But an alk at 20:1 followed by an acid wash at 100:1 is about $1.50 total. And wow does it work.
You can seriously clean a car in 30 minutes and not hurt it.
Great vid mate.
Thanks! Oh yeah I used to his videos years ago! Good stuff!
Yup, that is the combo for truck and trailer wash. 👍👍
yo yo yo! i like using crystal wash like i would an iron remover, after a foam/rinse/wash and a light dry, i apply it with microfiber applicator uses waaay less product per panel. i may be wrong but i feel like using it that way really allows it to grab those stuck in doodoo’s that are under the big loose ones. my logic says let it grab what’s left after a wash, rinse the crystal wash and hopefully it’ll allow a even safer synthetic claying. ✌🏽🐿️💨
We use Strip Wash from Adam's. Same use and works great too. Like 1st from Puerto Rico, Tropical weather so we only use it when doing a Ceramic coating. For maintenance, an alkaline soap + Rinseless wash is best for us
Never heard of it Phil.
Amazing product. I use it once a month on maintenance clients and my personal vehicle
Thanks man
Looks awesome Phill
I’ve used wheel acid 100% on wet cars.almost always white cars that are dingey looking.
Of course I was always very diligent to not let it dry on the car.i would put it on the car, wash with a soapy mitt and rinse thoroughly
Wheel acid can be used on paintwork, but DO NOT get it on the glass. It could turn into a very expensive mistake. It can etch its way through glass, so it's probably best just to find a safer alternative that you can use on glass too like water spot removers, and, acid based soaps like carpro descale and this p&s acid wash
Great information! Love your shoes.
Thanks!!
I use LaboCosmetica #Purifica as the 2nd step for a decon wash, then you remove the lime and water spots, this can also be used in a sprayer and smells nice
Nice! Thanks for sharing. 😎👍🏼
Good pre-treatment for vehicles in the winter. I use it to pretreat dried snow slush, salt and brine solution that is dried on the paint. There are better pre-treatments to use Spring, Summer and Fall.
Thanks for the info!
That makes more sense than “breaks the bonds”.
What do you mean?
GREAT video! Crystal wash is such an under appreciated product. I don’t reach for it as much as I should. But such a great product
It really is!
Amazing video and content/product review good friend
Watched this one already, but came back for the #detailglovebox 😇
#DETAILGLOVEBOX Washing with acid?? Who knew?? Keep up the great work guys. I love your channel and your detail to detailing vehicles.
Thanks!
Luckily the cars I work on are for the most part regularly maintained so a good prewash with a strong car soap is all I need. But interesting stuff that is out there. Thanks for sharing.
#detailglovebox
Thanks for watching! 😎👍🏼
ILL HAVE TO TRY! THANKS
Great video buddy!#Glovebox#DetailGloveBox
May i know whats the brand of your electric sprayer? Thats so satisfying to use it. 😊
CarSuppliesWarehouse doesnt carry them anymore. But this is the same type amzn.to/4cntEbI
Awesome video and cool shoes!
Thanks! 😎👍🏼
Great video
#Detailglovebox
Keep up the great info Miranda’s! #detailglovebox
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks for this video and showcasing crystal wash. it is on my list to try. #detailglovebox
Hello. Can you link the electric sprayer that was used in the video? 🙏
The black one is out of stock. but this is the same one in a different color. amzn.to/49D2FHv
Now I wanna try it! Damn it Phil! #detailglovebox
Thanks another tool for the toolbox! Thanks for all your videos! #detailglovebox
Thanks for watching!
#detailglovebox babyy
How much Crystal wash would you say you used for a car that size?
Maybe a few oz. Not much at all.
Is it any better than a decon soap?
It’s not an iron Decon type of product. A Decon soap is different.
Is it like Carpro Iron X Snow Foam?
No it’s formulated differently. It doesn’t have the sodium thioglycolic chemical that dissolves iron
Been looking for a product to revive my coating. Had Gtechniq CSL added 15 months ago and the hood is FLAT. Not sure if it’s clogged or dead.
I’ve properly maintained it too, but haven’t used high or low PH formulas, or and iron removers or clay towels.
Wow. Thats crazy. We have CSL on a ton of vehicles still going strong after 3 years. It could be clogged I guess. Depends on a lot of variables. For CSL I usually use the Gtechniq c2v3 spray. But you can use pretty much any ceramic spray sealant.
@@MirandaDetailing everything was fine when I was using gtechniqs Citrus Foam and Gwash, but then I visited my parents… they have “water softeners” in their area. Combine that with a bottle of Turtle wax’s “max wash” found at the local hardware store, and things went downhill. I’m not sure if the water softeners or car shampoo, or both did it 🤦♂️
@gnawty4662 Oh! Interesting! Yeah water softeners have salt in them and that could have changed or something on the coating.
#detailglovebox
Just found your channel and have been binge watching. I enjoy working on my vehicles and can't wait for the weather to warm back up to get back at it.
Awesome! Thanks and welcome aboard!
That pre wash worked pretty dang good
#detailglovebox
It sure did!
This is an interesting product and it does clean the paint well. I have not picked it up yet because I will get inpatient waiting for the product to crystallize. I have got to start PPF too. Do you have any tips for wrapping corners? Thank you for another video!
Hi. I;m no expert on PPF yet. I'm still working on corners myself.
@@MirandaDetailing I appreciate the response and I know you will figure it out quick. You’re a very smart detailer.
How do you about getting customers?
Maybe thsi can help. ua-cam.com/video/rfk8K42EbT8/v-deo.htmlsi=KBht_2xQIkHaXA7Q
Another great video Phil. I know I mentioned in another video. Hard to believe Crystal Wash has been around 25 years.
Yes, it has. I have used it since 2010

#detailglovebox nice beard btw looking good man
Thanks man!
#DETAILGLOVEBOX I really did enjoy this video Phil and also the newest one that you showed off the February Glovebox . You did a really great job on showing the process. Phil, do you use the undercarriage surface cleaner on the engine bay or just the rest of the vehicle and not the engine itself? Thanks and keep up the great videos man :)
Thanks. I use the undercarriage washer for pretty much the entire bottom on the vehicle
do you have a link to the electric sprayer ?
thanks
The black one is out of stock. but this is the same one in a different color. amzn.to/49D2FHv
Both videos are great. Thanks for the opportunity to win a #DetailGloveBox 😀
Thanks!
So the reason why you never heard of it or used it is because you’re not a professional auto detailer people I’ve been using acid, especially on white cars earlier in the 70s and still to this day
What do you mean by “not a professional Detailer”? Are you new here?
#detailglovebox let’s gooooooo
#detailglovebox Thank you! Love your videos!
Thanks!
I can see it's benefits but will I use it? NO! Would make me too anxious with every squeeze of the trigger. Great demo though.
Really? It’s totally fine. I was just kidding about the acid part. It’s formulated to work safely on paint. It used to used years ago before iron decon chemicals. Letting apc dry on the paint is more dangerous to the paint than this stuff. It’s totally fine man. 😎👍🏼
Reassuring. 😊 When/if it ever appears in the UK I'll try it.
So does it remove embedded iron particles?? If so how does it smell?
Hi. It does not have sodium thioglycolic which is the iron particel remover chemical. it doesnt smell like that.
#detailglovebox !!
#detailglovebox. Thanks for the chance
Maybe you should have rinsed a spot without the chemical for a better comparison.
Yeah good idea. Next time. Thanks for watching. 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing in my experience, if a car has a half decent protection and has dirt deposits as were apparent on your car, a pressure washer will suffice. If on the other hand it’s a three month plus build up of dirt then yes chemicals are needed. I’m not trying to be a d!ck but according to your video people might think this is a super product, which it very well may be but we need more info.
I’m a big fan of your channel, thanks for the vids and advice.
Hi. Thanks for the info. Yeah I try to explain as much as possibly, but when I talk to much views go down unfortunately. It’s a catch 22. People want info but some are unwilling to listen to the entire video. Sounds like you actually watch and listen all the way through and I really appreciate that! I explain in tons of my other videos the exact reasons why I do or don’t do certain things. It’s difficult and sometimes redundant if I explain the same things over and over again. Usually I try to let people discern things for themselves. But people will be people and some stuff goes over their heads, logic wise that is.
Thanks for the input! 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing no worries, your videos are pure quality and it’s a joy to watch you and your wife work together.
Thanks so much!
I would like to know if the acidity of the product can affect the sprayer mechanism? Or will it be enough to clean it well after use? #detailglovebox
Hi. It probably will over time. It may be a good idea to rinse out the sprayer if your not using it often.
Superb
Thanks 🤗
