    Carpro rarely lets you down and this is one of their best products. I enjoyed seeing how your opinion changed when you saw how effective it really was. Waterspots are its main target and not to be used as a regular wash.

    Jon, I do not use ceramic coatings. Don’t have the time or a proper garage to let the coatings set up. I have been using Jescar’s Ultra Lock + (also a great product) and after a long Canadian winter, whatever sealant remains, Descale totally removes any lingering sealant. I use it in my foam cannon and let it stand for 3-5 minutes and then in a contact wash. I have used Descale for 2 years and for my purposes, it performs to my expectations and I have to come to trust CarPro products. This is my opinion as an enthusiast and certainly not a professional. Thanks for the video and it’s always good to get different perspectives. Till the next one.

      MOST OF THE RECENT GYEON COATINGS ARE VERY EASY TO APPLY OUTSIDE.
      I have used mohs/skin and gyeon pure , both applied outside. No problems , pure is amazing, looks unbelievble and is a 1 layer coating, so saving time over the 2 layer mohs combo.. get a 50ml bottle, s you apply it thick, wait till its about 15 deg centigrade , apply gyeon cure after about 1 hour and you will be good to go.

    I love Descale, it's been great using it now for a little over a year. I also love that it's not just a "stripper" but a very high quality shampoo with great lubrication for the amount of cleaning power it provides. I use it mainly as a sort of "reset" wash, about 3, maybe 4 times a year, on heavily driven non-garage kept vehicles. Out here in the rust belt (northeastern PA) cars get hammered with all types of minerals, salts, and other crap, year round. So this product really helps, and works great.

    I just bought/used Koch Chemie Reactivation Shampoo. It's 1ph pre-diluted so it's a lot more concentrated than descale, And can be diluted 2x, while only being slightly more expensive per liter, which brings the price per use down greatly.

    • @Zoranurai13
      @Zoranurai13 9 місяців тому +3

      I have both, i must say that descale definitely is the more premium shampoo.
      rs is more aggressive and the lubrication is very mediocre compared to descale.
      Also the smell of rs is a pain to remove from washmitts compared to descale. It’s not bad but it smells like bathroom cleaner.
      I would only use rs for absolute strip washes where i’m going to polish as well. Not as a once in a few months coating reviver.

    • @BrianW1612

      It's actually significantly more cheap as the £15 price is for 1L. Descale is about £23 for 1L & you use 2x as much so a direct comparison to the KC reactivation shampoo is like £15 vs £46 for the same amount of washes.

    • @Zoranurai13

    Nice review Jon.
    I really like descale. But I prefer Purifica because in the conditions I use it, it works better. I really like labocosmetica because of the ease of use and the way the products forgive mistakes that normally slow us down or cause problems. All products have their positive and negative characteristics, and depending on various factors such as ambient temperature, humidity, contact temperature, the products work better than others. I have a large black car with a lot of chrome and some plastics and I have to wash it often in the sun at high temperatures, with hot panels, in a dry and windy environment. Although I have already tested some brands... those that I have the best results and ease use are labocosmetica products, primus, purifica, and also often use revita as the only protection (everything used with foam lance) The biggest problem for me is the price, but this is payment by the lower risk of problems when the product dries on the paint, something that as has happened to me. Don't get me wrong... I like CarPro and its products, but in the conditions I use it, Labocosmetica better meets the requirements I'm looking for (ease of use in the environment in question, time spent washing).

    Directions:
    Dilute 1:100 for bucket washing or 1:10 for foam sprayer/spray bottle.
    For light contamination: use Descale as a snow foam and allow for maximum dwell time (without letting it dry) before rinsing. Follow up with a hand wash.
    For heavier contamination: wash panel by panel starting with horizontal panels. Wash the panel and allow Descale to dwell for as long as possible without letting it dry.
    Repeat if necessary.
    Thoroughly rinse with water.

    I use this product, I like it. I rarely use it because its not one of these products you shouldn't use regularly. About once a year or every 6 months should be fine, but that also depends on your rinse water and if your cleaning in a cool shaded area and get the car dry quickly or use DI water. This all adds water spots otherwise. My only thought on this acidic shampoo is that even if you rinse thoroughly, there is a chance of the acid shampoo being left in the panel gap somewhere. What about going back over with an alkaline shampoo or pre wash just to really make sure everything is pH neutral?

    It’s not a product you would need to use all the time because if you did your car would never have water stains and after a while of continuous use it will burn through your clear coat, I think I read somewhere recommended use is once or twice a year but I haven’t used it yet as I want to use it just to clear the paint before I apply any sealants so 500ml should last a while if applied from a snow foam lance at 1:10 but I want to use it as a clay lubricant aswell while it has its dwell time too I’m agitating it with a clay mitt but not sure otherwise

    I’ve seen lot of “touchless wash” videos with alkaline shampoos on non protected vehicles, since higher pH products such as BH might strip cheap waxes and do some damage to certain ceramic coatings. The results were a bit “meh”. But what about a touchless wash with an acidic shampoo such as descale on a ceramic coated car? Do you think it will do the job on a regularly maintained car? No 1:10 in the hand spray bottle..... Just like the label says.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  9 місяців тому +1

      let me stop you. the label does NOT. repeat the label does NOT. says "hand spray bottle". it says 1 to 10 in "foam sprayer / spray bottle". that will yield a rough working PIR of about 9%. versus 1% in the bucket. That might get some people to go "hmmmm" because its a factor of ten alteration in PIR between 2 methods. It then goes on to say you can use it as a snow foam. As soon as the word snow foam is used the whole detailing world will relate that to being used in a snow foam lance or cannon and they will go back to to the ratios to try and get answers. So like I said in this review there is AMBIGUITY. There does not need to ambiguity. It just needs simple, verbatum style instructions so there can be no confusion. let me show you the purifica diultion instructions
      Foam Gun 1:5-1:10
      Bucket 1:100-1:400
      Spray 1:100-1:200
      you will notice the bucket and spray PIR match. When you put it into a foam gun (lance or cannon they should say) you typically lower the dilution by another factor of 10. hence the 1:5 1:10 ratio for the lance resovoir will balance out the PIR accross all 3 methods roughly.
      So Im of the opinion (just from using logical) that foam sprayer in carpros world means snow foam lance. as otherwise you are using at 10% pir which is very very strong.

    • @Saddedude
      @Saddedude 9 місяців тому

      @ForensicDetailing carpro reccomends 1:10 in a spray bottle as a substitute for carpro spotless. Its intended to be strong in that use case.

      mate your missing the entire point. Ive just had another arguement with someone in the comments whos adament the 1:10 is for a lance. Its my job to point out the ambiguity. Im not worried about what is supposed to be correct. Im just highlight an ambiguity.

    Caroro products in my limited experience are always expensive and rarely worth the investment on return in performance.

      @@Myfavs1972MarkM I never mentioned Bilt Hamber or Koch Chemi, but I'll take Bilt Hamber every day of the week and twice on Sunday against any other brand with like for like products. This seems to be a niche product which means that Carpro can retail it for whatever they can get for it. I don't have a detailing business, so therefore I don't have the facility to build the expense of certain manufacturers products into my pricing structure. I do however detail and maintain three cars on a regular basis and the two key factors most important to me are performance and value for money. I really appreciate all the work Jon puts into his two channels. His product testing in particular has saved me hundreds of pounds over the years I have followed him. You are entitled to your opinion as am I. To reiterate, I only speak from personal experience and Carpro for me is not a brand that facilitates high performance with every product and the added bonus of value for money.
