Brings back memories of my second vehicle, a '72 Squareback I purchased for $700.00. Not nearly as nice as this one, some body damage & original EFI switched to dual Solexes, but what a workhorse. Tons of character & never let me down. Still miss that thing 😢

Great job on your video. A honest inspection on the car. Like to see a suede headliner. Very fair on the 12 to 15k. I like it. I too have a type 3 the same color. But fastback. 👍👍

Had new in 1971. Square Back Robin Blue. Kept 12 years. Only car in my life I kept over a decade.

My ‘72 made it from Ottawa to Alaska when I was in university. I loved it. Very sadly the transmission gave up on the way back. Transmission fluid? Ohhh…

This is a nice car. And I know that about two and a half years have passed since the video was posted. I like this car so I wanted to have some fun and list what I could notice about it. The reason is that at the start of the video, it was stated that the video is about checking the car for things that don't look right, as well as checking for things that look tacky.
The following is the list of my observations:
The headlights with the chrome bezels and cat eye treatment are from a vintage era, they don't look right, and they look tacky. The cheap black-plastic driving lights, they don't look right, and they look tacky. The paint overspray on the windows can be easily removed using 0000 steel wool, a.k.a. four-ought, and follow up with a vacuuming of pieces of broken steel wool and follow that up with glass cleaner. Some Mother's Back-To-Black or the like, will freshen-up the rubber window gaskets. The outside rear view mirror is missing and the threaded hole for that has been left open--see driver's door. The one-dent in the rear bumper doesn't look as bad as the wavy top side of that bumper. It must be a Chinese replacement. The Wolfsburg sticker on the right rear window is oversized and looks childish, it's borderline tacky. The set-the-feeling roof rack doesn't look vintage to the era of the car and looks tacky. As well, it greatly distracts from the beautiful looking car in the worst way. The exterior windshield sun visor is like a swimming pool at a house for sale, it's neither a plus or a minus, and it's removable. The mud-flaps are not official Volkswagen parts and they look cheap and tacky. And not a big deal but incorrect are the body-color steel wheels. The correct color would be a shade of argent from the day. I'm uncertain if VW was using a gloss argent or semi-gloss. I don't know what to make of the big VW sticker on the gauge, at a minimum it's tacky. The more of this car I see the less I like it. It's turning out not to be the nice car I thought it was and it's looking expensive to make all the corrections that are needed. Of course, I don't what the asking price was. Air-cooled VWs always drip oil, and usually it comes from the road-draft-tube, which is correct and normal. So no problem there. What I dislike most about this car is that it looks like it's been lowered. That's a big deal breaker to me because it alters the way that it rides. I'd like to know what this car sold for.

Did you walk right past the missing factory mirror holes or did I miss that comment? Also no original high back front seats. Missing? No, the wood under the dash where the radio is isn't original. Not bad - but just a driver.

Howdie, guys, would it be Ok if I asked what the sold price was, I have one and my insurer won't insure unless a value can be put on it as no book has a value I know about.

We try to keep that info confidential. Lets just say somewhere between $12k and $15K

Clearly, you do not know these cars. With #2 values getting towards $25K, you need to do your homework.

Poor, lame video. Narrator:: we don't need you rating everything ("It's nice") -- you skipped over several areas of rust out, and the rocker panels are 100% bondo. And not very well done at that. Personally, I wouldn't want that car.

The car is sold. The customer is happy and feels like it was represented very well. Based on your comment I figured you must be a auto body expert so I checked out your channel... Nope... Just an egghead know it all. Your channel content was not even bathroom worthy. Get a life bro
