CLASSIC VW TYPE-3, IS VW MOST STYLISH, ELEGANT CAR ! JUST LIKE BACK IN 60'S ! DRIVING VW TYPE-3, PLAY SOME JAZZ MUSIC OR EARLY 60'S ROCK & ROLL MUSIC, WOW~! WHAT THE FEELING ! IS COOL~! 😎
Can you imagine how far these would have gone with a more powerful evolution of their 1600 flat 4 design? Given even 90 bhp they would have been even bigger here in the USA.
The notchback, convertible and Karmen Ghia were all pretty rare in the USA. I believe the only officially imported cars were the Squareback and fastback. I suspect that VW was reluctant to promote anything with swing axles that might have seemed too sporty in this country while the controversy over the Corvair was still raging.
It's too bad the Fastback wasn't part of the design brief from the start, it could've held down the 2-door market on its' own while the Notchback and Squareback should've been 4-doors.
I have one in Bolivia, I buy it from a farmer, I gonna rebuild is a cabriolet 1500cc type 3 vw the prototype, it is the only one besides the museum of wolfburg in Germany only 12 were made.
That Square Back 😮
Thank you for sharing ! I had a 66 fastback VW n it's so nice to so many different types of the Type 3s! 🤠
It's Type 3 heaven! Thanks for sharing this vintage video of so many beautiful cars!
I've always been looking for that convertible. Add to my collection.
Remember that day, my blue Notch is long gone!
I wish I still had my 66 Fastback
i hope all those cars are still on the road!

I’d KILL for that Fastback Convertible❤️
VW´s Jurassic park! Beautiful cars btw!
My very first car: a 1500 S 2-door Sedan from 1962....
I'm a lucky guy I bought my 62 notchback for 75.00 in about 83 and I still have it! Of course it needs a complete rebuild but at least I've saved it !
I have never seen a VW Type 3 convertible before as well as USA from 1961-1965 models. They are not so popular.
