What an absolutely brilliant movie! I'm a little annoyed at myself for having left it so long before checking this one out! There was never a dull moment in this one and i was hooked throughout the entire movie. The more i think about it the more i want an alien invasion to actually happen... provided they're y'know, friendly, init.

The conversation Graham had with Merrill "There are no coincidences in life" was a key moment. It was not a coincidence that Bo had the water fetish, Morgan had asthma to block the poison gas, Merrill always wanted to swing away, and the Vet fell asleep at the wheel so the mother could warn Graham of what to do.
I guess you could argue it as "All part of God's plan."
@@TheGunslinger1 He chose her to save them all.
Thank you. Normally I'm the one making this post on reactions. LOL.
It's not a movie about an Alien Invasion, it's a movie about Faith, told through a series of Signs.
I wouldn't say it was a fetish, more of a phobia...
Signs is so freaking good. I'm so glad reactors are finally finding this gem.
I can't believe i hadn't seen it before now! I thought is was bloody brilliant!
Another movie you likely would enjoy is "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise. 2005
I remember seeing the newscast alien scene as a kid, and it scared me for a long time! Watching it later as an adult, it still freaked me out. M. Night did an amazing job with this movie.
i will never forget seeing signs as a kid in the cinemas. still one of the scariest movies ever. scariest scene goes to the kids party, second scariest scene is that army guy.
great point, that army guy is campy now, almost hilariously so. But as a kid he was so uncanny I was scared. Like a possessed GI JOE
Same here and I'm from Brazil, that party was set here, I was scared
@@jwoginrich i remember thinking i was so smart and trying to convince my friends that he was the head alien in disguise because he was just so creepy! haha
Honesty, that was the part that always unsettled me most as well. I think it’s because it happened in the middle of the day in front of so many people. Usually in creepy movies these things happen at night and when no one other than the main characters are around to witness. I wonder if it’s because it didn’t “follow the classic rules” and thus introducing a new level of unpredictability that made it extra unsettling.
@@jwoginrichI remember him being campy even back then but also I wasn’t a kid I was in my mid teens at the time. Probably was a different experience for a kid. That’s what I love about rewatching movies I haven’t seen since I was a kid, seeing my new perspective as an adult 😂
I live I rural Kansan. Our house and fields are very much like this. My son is non verbal, autistic and loved eloping in the cornfields when Bo sized. It was terrifying. I would call and call and he wouldn't answer. I could see stalks move which could be him or a critter. And I could sometimes hear him laugh.
Our fields are very moist, and with adult weight, you often sink into the mud a few makes running hard. It will suck your shoes off your feet even. There's snakes and holes. I have broken my ankle tripping in one and had to crawl/limp back home.
Nightmare fuel.
Hearing him giggle while I was frantically searching was just the creepiest.
All of this sounds terrifying. I've always loved the idea of being able to look out over crop fields and to enjoy the peace. After reading that I'm a bit happier that I live in the middle of London. :)
@@givepeasachance7 yeah, I am a city girl.
I was not prepared for this lifestyle. 😆
@@theConquerersMama You've done good. I would fail so spectacularly. If I broke my ankle in a mud hole there's no way I could drag my carcass back home. They'd have to wait for harvest time to find me - lol.
Another Kansan here. I used to play in the corn fields all the time. the biggest concern is indeed the snakes. The dangerous ones really blend in with leaves, and when you're a little kid having fun, you don't really pay attention to the ground that hard. Plus we'd either walk miles away from anyone else or our parents would drop us off for hours.
@givepeasachance7 😆 thank you. It wasn't a great day to be sure.
I discovered the channel this week and I'm in a marathon of all the videos😂
That's honestly awesome to hear! Really glad you're enjoying the videos! 😊
I went to see this in the theater with my Dad, and he recently passed. Every time I see it, I think about him. Thanks for the reaction!
1. A favorite I’ve seen many times. 2. M Night Shyamalan plays the vet who killed the Father’s wife; he wrote and directed this film. Like Hitchcock, he makes cameos in his films. 3. Only just now realized that Lionel is the scrubby guy in the recruiters office, talking smack about Merrill. 4. The son is played by Rory Culkin, brother of MacCauley. 5. Bo is played here by Abigail Breslin, from Zombieland and Little Miss Sunshine.
I feel like ,no matter the order, Dan's probe tier list (and its various reasonings) has to be wild.
the details in the movie- the signs were - all the water cups left by the girl, the son's asthma that protected him from the poisen gas, "swing away" - all those signs was what won his faith back. He is the type that sees signs
He said "vegetarian" so confidently 😂
That scene of the alien on the news will forever be memorable. 11-year-old me was scarred for months.
So glad to see more reactors watching Signs. It’s a great movie.
I grew up in the foothills of Appalachia outside of a small farming community. There were maybe 3,000 people in the town & 5,000 in the county. We were surrounded by miles & miles of corn & tobacco & woods. Whenever the dogs in the area started barking aggressively at night the adults would say “Those d@mn boogers are back” & everyone had to go inside & the next couple of days us kids wouldn’t be allowed to go into the woods or crops. We’d be told to stay close to the house or “the boogers will get you”. Boogers is hillbilly for Bigfoot/Sasquatch.
Never saw anything - aliens or boogers - but a healthy fear of things hiding in the darkness was instilled in us from a young age.
You guys would love War of the worlds, with Tom Cruise
What a great suggestion! I'm not all that familiar with it, but i think it's an alien invasion movie right? After this one i'm weirdly craving more of that 😅
@@JackWillReact yes! One of the best alien invasion movies. Directed by Stevan Spielberg. A lot more intense than Signs
@leahdavis1641 Signs isn't about aliens. They're demons. Holy water kills them.
2nding this, and also adding "Super 8" 💜
_”Tom, I’ll need a ride home.”_
“ Cast Iron Nuggets” is now something I’m going to say the rest of my life. And will be abbreviated to “C.I.N.”
FYI: the doctor, “Ray” is played by the director M. Night. I think he’s actually very good, also has a part in his “Lady in the Water”, I think his performance is very Ben better.
I’d recommend a couple of his movies “Devil” sort of a who-done-it, (like Clue but horror). And “The Village”, both very thought provoking.
Recommend : “Children of the Corn” from 1985, ( you will get a laugh from the old special effects 😆), but the concept is really creepy.
I love how everything came together in the end:
1. The wife predicted this.
2. Merril "swing away".
3. Bo had the thing about water.
4. Morgan had asthma so no alien poison got in, his lungs were closed.
5. Graham saw the SIGNS!
M.Night Sha(I cant spell that) is such a good, multilayered story teller. Like Hitchcock they often have a spooky component but the key bit is just good storytelling and relationships.
Dan is so adorable 😎
I always cry at Mel, always. He's such a great actor. I love the subtle humour too. Great film
He was so good in this wasn't he! I need to see more Mel Gibson movies i think!
He makes me cry too.
The alien reveal at the kids party really scared me. Another tense moment for me was when Merle broke the light bulb, leaving everyone in the dark. After the dog peed on the floor, Graham suggested taking the dog to a doctor instead of to the vet because it was the vet who accidentally killed his wife. Jack may have been right when he misread vet as vegetarian; when Graham reached for the knife, there were chopped vegetables on the counter top. The jerk at the army recruiting place was named Lionel. Maybe he's the Lionel that they thought was pranking them.
Definitely scary when it’s night time. 😂 I always get scared with the cornfield and pantry scene
That pantry scene nearly killed me and that was during the daytime, i definitely would not have survived if this was during the night 😅
Yes, that's exactly what it looked like in the cinema back then when the alien hand came out from under the pantry door. The entire audience, everyone in the cinema, including me, was incredibly frightened and jumped back. I'll never forget that... 😅😂
Morning gents, what a nice treat to wake up to
I love when you guys theorize about what's gonna happen in the movie before Watchung and during. Cracks me tf up
Good morning mate! What a well timed post then haha, glad to have you back! Sometimes we get close with some theories, but I feel more often than not we're just well off track 😂
@@JackWillReact lol maybe but those are the funniest
I have loved this movie since it first came out! =) The horror drama sci fi mix is awesome!!! And 5 year old Abigail Breslin killed her performance, so glad she has a successful career!
A friend of mine had a party when we were 17...invited a bunch of us from school. They decided the cool thing would be to use their projector to show movies on the side of their barn...kinda like a private movie theater outside on blankets...well they showed this movie....and behind us were acres of cotton fields. Ever seen a bunch of terrified 18-16 year olds? I'm sure that was still the scariest drive/walk home we ever had.
I watched this movie by myself at the cinema. There was only me and one other person sat pretty far from me. It was quite a scary experience and I'll never forget it.
Wow, that must have been a really weird feeling being the only two in the entire cinema! Would have felt a little unsettling i bet!
@@JackWillReact it sure was! By the way, great reaction. I'm rapidly becoming a big fan of you two 😬 super fun videos, man.
I saw it in a crowded theater and everyone jumping at the bday party/TV scene is still such a great collective memory of people all moving and experiencing something together. 😂
This movie was shot literally in and around my home town area. I know the farm and houses in/near Doylestown and New Hope PA where the shoots were. Still one of my fav M.Night movies.
Classic Lionel and the boys just prowling the rooftops. 👌
He's such a little rascal that Lionel isn't he
@@JackWillReact Always on the hunt for shenanigans. He's consistent, gotta give him that.
“Is it a playful scream?”
Dude, for several years I had this neighborhood girl who when outside playing with her brothers liked to scream as if the world was ending just for the fun of it I guess. It put me on edge every time. And every time I swore it would be the last, she would be the girl who cried wolf, but every damn time I had to take a peak over our fence to make sure she wasn’t being freakn kidnapped or something 🙄
Btw the aliens are actually demons, hence they can’t open doors and the holy water etc, also love all the Easter eggs in this film - the signs are not the crop circles but all the signs the dad gets from god like the coincidences a water, his sons asthma, the baseball bat etc
Signs and Shyamalan became the best paid screenplay/writer in that time for this movie.
Felt wrong not to swing
I’m a huge horror buff (which is why I’m here in the first place because I keep searching for horror reactions) and even though this might not be classified as a horror, it really is one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. Some of these scenes haunts my childhood nightmares. Adore this movie
May, so glad to see you react to this movie!! It's awesome 😊
I AM SO PUMPED FOR THIS, THIS IS A TOP FIVE MOVIE OF MINNNNEEEE
CHEERSSS!!!!!
I loved this movie!! I thought it was brilliant, great pacing, so well written too!
Seen it in the cinemas as a kid when it was released. Went to it without any knowledge of what it was about.
Yaya finally!!! One of my all time favourites!
Fun fact their home was built just for the movie and the corn was also planted just for the film
Actually one of my favourite movies. Love it. So touching and genuinely scary. And the music. A perfect Hitchcock type of film.
I think this was an AWESOME reaction!! I can’t believe this is the first video of yours I’ve seen, but instant sub! Hilarious, fun, & I think they didn’t bring the other dog inside bc the first acted so strangely & the poor boy had to kill it thinking he was saving his sister. 😢
I’d recommend not stopping the movie over and over
The way the movie just, SLAMS you with a ton fo information super fast to catch you, but then explains NONE of the clairvoyance stuff with the wife and daughter is WILD
Just found your channel. Great reaction. You’re both so much fun to watch along with! Looking forward to the next one. Subscribed.
3 strikes make one out. A strike is either a swing and a miss, a hit out of bounds, or the pitcher put it right in the "strike zone" above the plate, and the batter did not swing. Another out is being tagged out at the plate if the thrower gets the ball there before you. Also, if your hit is caught without a bounce. 3 outs and the teams switch offensive/defense. The game is 9 of these "innings" in series, unless tied, it will go another inning(s) until the score is not.
You two are so much fun to watch
Great reaction. You two always make me laugh and laugh 😂 One M. Night movie that I never see anyone react to is The Village. Definitely recommend that one
Great film, and can i say Jack - a fabulous choice of book.....eagerly waiting for Fry's 4th instalment later this year!
22:55: M. Night Shamalan himself, ladies and gentlemen. 😊
Of all the places that aliens could choose to visit, why on earth would they choose Wakefield? 🤣
I've only ever driven past Wakefield, thinking i may have to head down there to see what all the fuss is about! 😅
Roswell was full?
Of all the planets in the universe- why would they pick one that's 71% water?😂
This is one of my all time favorites. Dad showed it to us like the day or the day after it released on TV/VHS/DVD, whatever it was at that point. Anyway we grew up in an area very similar to that and it scarred us for life lol. Our county in our state also has the most ufo sightings per capita in the whole midwest and we are surrounded by forests and cornfields. If the corn was up you never went out at night alone lol. And if you did have to go out you begged a sibling to go with you and armed yourself with a rifle or a shotgun
One of my favorite movies! Loved your reactions too funny.
Great film & fun reaction! Other viewers have suggested War of the Worlds (the 2005 remake of a classic 1953 film), as one of the best alien invasion films. For a comic change of pace, I could also recommend Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959), regarded by some as one of the WORST movies of all time of any genre, almost beyond parody. Very few YT reactors have actually taken it on. I think you'd have fun with it!
I’ve just discovered your channel - absolutely love your reactions! Love the banter between you both - so funny! 😆 I’ve been feeling quite down recently but your videos have cheered me up so thank you!! 🙏🏻 🙂xx
Great reaction! You guys are amusing as all get out!
I just woke up and I’m so ready for this! It’s going to be an awesome day!!!! 👽
Glad to have you here! Aprpeciate you stopping by 😊
@JackWillReact I actually started watching your channel about a month ago? around there…
Because you liked this film, I really want to recommend The Fourth Kind 👍😁 please, you’ll love it
M Night shyamalan did a good job with Signs. It was good and scary. The story is good. Alien movies are always good.
adorable never came to mind regarding this movie. until now.❤
You guys are hilarious! I'm now a subscriber!
Amazing video guys! Can you guys please make a reaction video of Smile? Its really good and scary and there's a 2nd one coming as well. ❤Keep up the good work!
aliens intelligent enough do interstellar travel but they cannot open doors, and they chose to invade a blue marble planet obviously covered in water. Hmm.
If water was like acid to these aliens, why did they invade a world that is 3/4 water? A garden hose would wipe out a battalion of them in a few minutes. Not to mention a sprinkler system.
If you want a couple more alien recommendations then Dark Skies, Battle Los Angeles, and The Fourth Kind are pretty good!
Great reaction! Love love love this movie.
One of my favorites!
"Signs" is a cleverly disguised religious horror film, filled with religious iconography throughout. The crop circles aren't remnants of alien spaceships; instead, they can be seen as hieroglyphs or incantations for summoning demons, giving the film a different interpretation. The main character, Graham, is a former religious leader who has lost his faith after his wife’s tragic death in a car accident. The film’s title, "Signs," refers to religious prophecies. Graham’s wife gives prophetic guidance about future events and actions to take in those situations. The conversation between Graham and his brother Merrill revolves around faith. Graham’s daughter, who leaves water everywhere, is referred to as an angel. The water she leaves behind is like holy water, which burns the demon when it gets wet. This resolves the plot hole of why an advanced race of aliens would invade a planet mostly covered in water. By the end, Graham returns to his faith, symbolizing his enlistment in God’s army, as they have defeated demons on Earth.
By the way, the demons can not open doors unless they are invited in (à la vampires); hence, they can only come through openings, which happened in the basement and the upstair broken windows.
"Juicy Juice" was a brand in the States in the 90s. I don't know if they're still around.
YES! I saw this in theaters and it scared the business out of me
No, it's not Lionel Pritchard in the corn; it's Shoeless Joe Jackson! See "Field of Dreams" if the Jackson reference means nothing to you.
Graham mentions not wanting to take the sick dog to the vet and suggests a doctor instead because ray is the local vet or rather...vegetarian.
The aliens aren't the brightest bunch considering their weakness. I mean, didn't they bother to look the planet Earth as they were approaching?
Great reaction great movie! If u haven’t already this directors best is The Sixth Sense and the ending is mind blowing
I recommend two other m night shayamalalalaan films. The Visit and the Village. Lots of famous faces in the Village including Joaquin 👌
This is such a great movie. Very nice reaction, boys!
I'd love to see you two watch the movie "Cube". It's a psychological sci-fi horror/thriller, and a personal favorite. I think you both would love it.
See you next time!
Vegetarian? Veterinarian? Yup. :) This was a great reaction. Loved the alien in the pantry jumpscare. Had to skip past the dog dying part. I hate that and have to give less stars to any movie that does this for no reason. Who leaves their dog out? This movie was pretty obvious with all the clues they gave throughout but you guys really are good at figuring out the plot beforehand. Also, have to say for the record, Jack and Dan are both so damn hot! How you doin'? ;)
M. Night Shyamalan played the vegetarian.
Such a great movie. Well acted by all. Mel Gibson is amazing at crying. If you've not watched his movie The Patriot I highly suggest it. Another alien movie that's good is War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. It's a remake from the original from the 60s I believe. Also The Fourth Kind is good. I think it's based on supposedly actual events. And if you want to watch one with the little girl in it watch Little Miss Sunshine. It's amazing. Just a few suggestions I think you'd both enjoy. Fun reaction guys! Also I think Dan needs his own big boy chair. He looks like a kid at the dinner table sitting next to you. 😏🤣
Hey the Veterinarian could be a Vegetarian... we don't know.
This was so fun! Please watch more spooky movies ❤
Ya know, now that I think of it, the crop circles in England would be bull. It literally rains in the UK every 10 minutes. Maybe they'd visit the 3 days in August but after that they'd be fkd. 🧐
....and Dan's still sitting in the toddler's chair.... 👽😮💨
The chances they would land in the UK's 1 week of summer weather is highly unlikely right? We'd be safe for sure! Haha, i'll sort Dan's chair situation out soon i promise 😂
Whole thing could have been avoided if they just had a decent sprinkler system.
My niece was 17 years old when she saw the movie and ....well, she then wore a tinfoil hat, for awhile 😅😅.
New sub here, I'm really enjoying your reactions! You guys should react to The sixth sense!
I love your movie reactions and I hope you can watch Paranormal Activity 2 one of my favorites out of all of them
I would definitely class the inter dimensional monsters from The Mist as aliens. They were creatures not of this world. Whether they were highly intelligent or more like animals is irrelevant, and the fact they came through some portal or rip instead of a spaceship is irrelevant. Still aliens technically.
I loooove this movie. Have you watched The Sixth Sense?
Yall call backyards gardens even if there is nothing growing its so weird. lol We only call something a garden in the US if there is legit vegetables and herbs and plants growing. lol
Did you know that (Ray) is M. Night Shyamalan the director of the movie. You guys are so funny😁
I realised this afterwards and i had no idea! An actor whilst directing, what can i say the guy is talented!
@@JackWillReact The Happening is another good one from him. If you are interested.
the director of the movie is the guy who killed his wife. you must watch his other movies they are all excellent. He loves Alfred
Hitchcock .
i checked out of this movie when the dog died... in my world ide rather the dog eat the children and have a nice full tummy!!
I had to skip past that part. Who would leave their dog out there to die?
I know Vegans feel the need to tell everyone, always, they they're Vegans, but I don't think Vegetarians are that bad lol
11:59 that's Lionel. M Night Shyamalan is not Lionel
Not y'all deciding to go, mid video, to make crop circles in Wakefield. Sure showed those idiots 😂
8:39 What ego lol, he was right, it wasn’t even human.
aren’t we all angst sometimes eh
Angst gang assemble! Or should it be The Gangst?
M Knight Shyamalan is known for grabbing your attention at the start of his movies...check out
💥... Sixth Sense... Bruce Willis
🌿🌿🌿
there's a fan theory that those were demons, not aliens. if you rewatch with that in mind, a lot of the movie makes more sense. for example, why would a technolgically advanced race travel lightyears to a water world without any water protection? we can't travel the cosmos but are smarter than that, lol. but, if you notice, Bo is referenced as an angel, and that's her water... therefore it's not water that hurts them... it's holy water.
Why are we watching a pastor struggle with his faith and asking questions as to whether you see signs or if there are no miracles? Why is Bo having dreams about all this? Why did Morgan state at the beginning that he thought God did it? Why did Bo's dream casue Morgan to want to say a prayer before their 'last supper'? Why did his wife's dying words give away the ending, "tell Graham to see... tell Merrill to swing away...". Why does Ray think he's still going to hell in the face of an alien attack? Why does Graham state at the end, "it can't be luck" while holding Morgan?
All of these things seem... odd... in the movie, but if you understand these are demons, then the movie makes total sense. Just think about the main dialog between Graham and Merrill... do you believe in signs or no? Do you see aliens... or do you see demons?
:)
So excited to watch this, I absolutely love this movie so much. Favourite Mel Gibson movie, by far 😂 love me some aliens. I deeply considered wearing a tin foil hat for a bit after first watching it. For protection and fashion.
Glad to have you back! Had i known about the tin hats going in to this i would 100% have made some to wear while watching 😂 (protection of course but can't deny that fashion statement)
@@JackWillReact you and Dan would have cemented yourselves as the fashion icons of reaction duos, had you done that, and the aliens would be so annoyed 😂
I have to say, you two look very much like you should be famous, very much like British and UK actors that we frequently see over here. But also, I gotta say that your polish, demeanour, diction, looks, and humor come through on vid, but your thumbnails and other stills don't do you any credit whatsoever. You two could pull some great scams over here posing as famous entertainers from Britain, because you seem like you should be. So you might actually be able to become famous entertainers, too, as you've got the looks and enough polish, imo. I bet you'd be good at working a crowd. Maybe I'm an idiot though. I never can tell. You probably already are notable and I'm being a fool.
