My notes: - Blank Canvas Syndrome- writing block 1. Nothing is original - the message is not unique- messenger is. Taking something unoriginal and writing it from your pov → ORIGINAL 2. Be a collector of ideas - keep a swipe file- notebook or phone - maybe i should get a pocket notebook 3. It’s good that nobody knows you… yet! - experiment in obscurity 4. You’re ready- start now! > *“Everything that needs to be said has already been said. But since no one was listening, everything must be said again.”* **André Gide**
@@adotleee I use notion and slack! I have a slack channel hooked up via a Zapier integration where whether on desktop, or my phone I can send quick msgs and it gets its way out to my notion DB. I talk about it in my recent minimalism video!
I love that book. A fun idea I've had recently is take something everyone thinks is dumb or boring, and find the hidden gem. Other people are not paying attention to stupid stuff. For instance - low budget game shows, 2008/9 seasons of reality tv, small museum exhibitions, venues or experiences at the back of the guidebook. I've found hilarious, freaky or incredible hidden gems, or just interesting ways of thinking about about something everyone feels is very standard and known. If you're gonna steal but want to look original, steal from places noone is looking.
So relatable! I actually got two copies of this book for Christmas! It gave me SO many good ideas. Also wanted to do a video on it, we’ll see if I get to it 😅
Great video! I'm dealing with the same struggle you mentioned in the beginning of the video... I feel the urge to create stuff, but I have no idea what to make. Thanks for putting this out there. This book is def next on my list!

Thats such a good tip. Steal ideas from obscure places, thats brilliant.

Glad it resonated! Make sure to put it in your swipe file ;) But yeah man it's tough. I think we just gotta stop over-thinking it.
