My Father was in charge of clearing the mines on Sword Beach so went over with his men on D.Day minus 6 hours .I remember lying in bed on the night of 5th June 1944 and listening to the endless noise of our aircraft flying over to France to drop men and bombs that night . I was 10 years old at the time and was both scared and proud at the same time , my Father was awarded the DSO for his bravery that night . Your wonderful film has awakened so many memories...thank you
My father, a P47 pilot over there, had the privilege of seeing this a couple of times before he passed away.
Huge smiles on his face, he was at home one more time.
Thanks to you.
+L Mar Very moving. Thank you for telling me.
Did he enjoy strafing civilians as well?
AWESOME. Thank you. My dad was a WWII vet, and he would have loved to see this.
My uncle was attached to Farnborough research after the war and got to fly a Fw 190 It was a great plane. (His words). Would have loved this video. and he flew many planes
History is far more important than we often believe.... and it can be fun to help to keep it alive.
Thank you for your comment
wim, the FW pilot
That must be so much fun to be a part of!
Absolutely enjoyed Watching
Cool video ! Just add water and they become full sized replicas ! 🤣 My grandfather was a U.S. Army Combat Infantry Soldier (mortar crew) and he participated in the invasion. He fought through France and into Germany. Fortunately for our family, he survived the conflict and returned to the states in 1946.
USNVA11 thank you 👍
Sholomo would be proud.
Nice moves as usual, Alain!
Great work on the video Ben, thanks for sharing.

Yeah I would not mind checking these aero gifts out as well
Yup, shrunk in the wash!
Yh, an imperfection in the canopy moulding by the look of things
Adam Castle From what I am aware of, the 51s had two types of canopy. That is one of them and the other is the one that doesn't have that bulge. I'm not too sure though.
If you are talking about a different aircraft or something, then I got no clue xD
Nicely done video. Hope that one day, we get to video our Spit and try make it as good as this.
Dave of the Camberley Spit.
ME Bf 109 was the best plaine ;) Greetings from germany

Fw-190 was superior to the 109.
