The unbreakable Chris Parnell. A lot of people sometimes think because he never laughed he must be a sourpuss but all his co stars loved having him in a sketch because he didn't mind when someone would break and would just do his best to keep it moving forward
OMG...if you watched TV in the 70's you'd know they totally nailed this era! The celebrities are like Charro, Bruce Jenner, George Carlin, and Nipsy Russell; Charro was on freaking everything for no apparent reason at all.
Betty White was on a lot of game shows too, and she usually kicked ass. I don't remember seeing Carlin on any game shows, but hey are missing Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly.
bossfan49 True about George Carlin...not his medium at all! Paul Lynde, good call. Dom Deluise and Don Rickles come to mind as well. I'm with the host...I never got what made Rich Little "funny" either.
This episode would've been from 1976, the same year SNL hit it's second NBC season and hotties Alicia Silverstone, Candace Cameron and Andrea Barber were born.
@@wackyduck3 Valid points but if you chase perfection looks wise you won't get far. Plus sense of humour goes a long way with most people and Amy is possibly the funniest person on earth who has a vagina although you could say the same thing about Wiig and Mckinnon

Rich Little wasn't bad, but just like they showed here, he Always said who's voice he was about to do. I remember my father getting really annoyed by that!
This was an impressive sketch, really capturing the style of 70s game shows and good impersonations of 70s celebrities (not 60s, like it mistakenly says in the description). The guy doing Rich Little was especially impressive, as he was actually doing multiple impersonations.
when i was 16/17 (now 19), my family had no internet and we could only watch 3-5 channels on the tv. One of the channels aired game shows from the 50s-80s and when I tell you this sketch is TOO accurate!!! They did an amazing job replicating the 70s game shows that aired and it’s aesthetic! it’s almost frightening and it hurts to watch tbh lmao! SNL definitely did their research for this 😂😭😂
Bert Convy is a name I haven't heard of in YEARS! This reminds me so much of 1976 and bring on summer vacation watching game shows when it was too hot to be outside.
The real answer is that they aren't doing anything graphic. They explain what the miming is supposed to be so the dirty subtext is overshadowed by the reality.
He stayed at the small boutique Hotel I was managing in 1979. I got to take dinner to him in his dressing room backstage and stay while he riffed, warming up for his show, then watch it from backstage. He was a nice guy, but was clearly pretty revved up on coke. One of the high spots in my life. I hate that he was lost to us so early.
If you ever watched SCTV, the earliest episodes all began with “Don't touch that dial! Don't touch that one either! And stop touching yourself! SCTV is on the air!” I noticed they dropped that one quite early - guessing maybe the censors had something to do with it.
They should have a contest where they provide 20 pictures featuring Kenan and have people correctly guess the order of the pictures. The pictures would be one each from 20 different seasons. No one would ever get even half of them right.
"Bruce Jenner." Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. AI love the way Kenan checks her out when she says the thing. You'll know what I mean
Once I was on a job interview years back and I met a man in the candidate pool who acted exactly like Rich Little (or, at least like SNL's depiction of him) while we were all waiting to be called in. Everyone ignored him, but that just made him ramp up his impressions to more and more unbearable/cringy degrees. He got the job (wtf), but the company went bankrupt and closed a few months later. I don't know if the two happenings were related in any way, but I don't NOT know it either...
I love the ridiculously low prize money.
1960s
@Shravan Parthasarathy
Even in the 60s game shows gave more prize money than $100
I’m confused on the math, how has she won 5 games already when the game winning prize is 100$ and she only has 200$ madness I say, madness
@@ShravanParthasarathy It's the 70's. They mention it at the start of the skit
Well a car cost like $2,000 back then.
Can we just appreciate Darrell Hammond doing an impression of an impressionist doing impressions?
"Yo, dawg. I heard you like impressions, so we got you an impressionist doing an impression of an impressionist doing impressions."
And he’s also gotta walk a line of doing actually good impressions that fall flat. Pretty nimble.
Sorry jimmy, we're out of time. ;)
No doubt, one of the best there ever was at sketch comedy.
uh .. nah. We just need to keep it moving.
This was 12 years ago and Kenan looks the same.
He looked the same back in 96 in Kenan & Kel.
That says a lot lol make up and good skin care
@Ethan Chun apparently no
Keenan just has great skin and he's lost weight so he doesn't look exactly the same.
Annelise Errico that’s when this clip was posted but it’s from 2006 look farther down in the description
Best look I've ever seen for Amy Poelher, that seventies hair-do really works for her.
It was modelled after farrah Fawcett
Looks amazing in that jumpsuit too
I find her head abnormally large to her body specially with that hairstyle. . .
PtolemyJones she’s pretty cute
I agree
God damn Kenan been doing work for 13 years on SNL.
Ben Watson he found his niche and don’t wanna lose it
Yep good for him too... He wouldn't have been nearly as popular as he is on SNL if he went into the movies in my opinion
Jookies In Kail 16 years. Been on since 2003
He looks the same to
He should have done Nipsy's trademark poems.
rich didn't even try to answer ..he was just there for the impressions..omg😂😂😂
He does suggest "Thai massage".
Chris Parnell was one of the most consistently hilarious people on the show and Darnell Hammond is an absolute impressionist legend. Incredible!

Chris Parnell was a solid cast member who never got the recognition he deserved.

Darrell Hammond is freaking fantastic in this! Very good impression not only of Rich Little, but of Rich Little doing impressions of others. Wow!
When Keenan said "A night in jail" I bursted out with laughter🤣🤣😭
Keenan’s sly smirk after she says “It’s me!” is hilarious 😂
