I love how long they stretched out that passive aggressive setup just to lead into the bit haha.
She should be good at little sketches like this. Earlier in her career, she was part of Second City in Chicago, as well as being on SNL for three years.
Oh I know right?? She delivers that uncomfortable, awkward, and bitter bordering hostile attitude very well! At the beginning before she went full on with it lol. Of course, she was suppose to. But it’s that first 2-3 minutes where you watch that energy and it feels so genuine for moments. If I had been watching this as it aired then I really would’ve been like oh wow!! He’s really pushing this too much haha. But yeah, absolutely hilarious and that’s one of the reasons why I’ve always liked Julia as an actress… she does those goofy, awkward, and uncomfortable scenes SO WELL!

llVIU I know your questions are probably rhetorical, but you become accustomed to heels and tight clothing and learn how to navigate. But carrying that heavy trophy that I would imagine compromised her balance, and clearing those wonky stairs without a railing IS pretty impressive. She looked hot doing it, too.

Well, no. She's won 8 Emmys. Dunno where you got 11 from. But she *is* tied with Cloris Leechman (who played, among other things, Phyllis on the Mary Tyler Moore show) for the most Primetime Acting Emmys won by a single person, and holds the record for the most wins for an actor playing the same role with six (for Selina Meyer on Veep). No question both Julia and Tina are absolutely monumental comedy talents.
...and Conan's pretty good, too, I guess. ;)

It’s about a woman who’s so wrong for the presidency, but still claws her way there, alienating all of those who helped her get there in the process. And when she does assume the presidency (by default) for two seasons, it’s predominantly about her and her staffers incompetency. But it’s definitely not a “woohoo, woman president” show!

I think the most amazing thing about this skit was that Julia Louis-Dreyfus was wearing stiletto heels, a tight skirt, and running up and down stairs with a pointy winged Emmy, which is the equivalent of two knives, without hurting yourself. Amazing!

She already knew Larry from her SNL period, Larry never mistreated any of the actors on "Seinfeld". Jerry was the one who had to put up with him and he was cool about it.
