    It’s great seeing the support for these. I’ve always loathed the why didn’t you get a wrangler? Not everyone wants to needs a wrangler. That seems like it fits exactly what you want out of it! Well done man

    I just got a 2017 Renegade Trailhawk with all sorts of customization from previous owner: snorkel; winch; floodlights, roof rack. I removed the winch for mileage concerns, but am instantly regretting it. Of all the customizations, that one could literally be a lifesaver (I live in the Yukon up by Alaska!). So I think I'll reattach soon. LOVE this idea of putting the wheel on the roof rack! Gonna totally copy that. Thanks. Great vid! insta-sub

    Definitely like this build. I love my Trailhawk and love how it performs on the trails. I know it's not a Wrangler and as a mechanic would never get a Wrangler because of the garbage motor in it. We've had 3 Wranglers in the shop that have now head gaskets. The 392 Wrangler is what is go for, but can't afford the price tag. Hopefully you'll get this thing on the trail with impressive videos. You can look at some of my videos. I go out and have fun, try out some trails ment for Wranglers and see how i do. Great video bro, keep it up.

    The best Renegade I’ve seen yet! You did all good mods and it looks fantastic! Have fun and enjoy! Don’t worry about the Wrangler fan boys. Not everyone wants to drive gas hogs as a daily. Enjoy your very capable trail rig and invest the saving! Economically Wranglers are best as part-time vehicles.

    Was shopping for a wrangler just to use as a toy in the desert and happened across a similar Renegade. Now I’m rethinking the whole thing. That’s a great setup. Add a winch and it will do 100% of what I need and it won’t be just another wrangler in the dunes.

It's bone stock as she really never goes off-road but it's a very capable and easy to drive SUV that is perfect if you don't need a full-size SUV! 👍 This is a mean looking Renegade actually the meanest I've personally seen! I also have a 2017 Renegade desert hawk, but it's still stock, sadly. Looking to mod it similarly to this. Honestly, $3500 for all of that is not bad at all. He definitely saved a lot where he said he did some of the installs himself, but that's really not bad. I've heard of guys playing $10,00-20,000 of their trucks on Wranglers. I'll happily drop $3-4k and get decent performance.

If you’re going to daily it I would recommend keeping stock bumpers and unless you need it for cargo don’t get a roof rack because both of those are heavy and unaerodynamic. However I would recommend A/T tires and a lift. I have the BFGoodrich KO2’s in 225/65/17 and the Teraflex 1.5” lift.

    Have you found a really good phone mount system? I wish 67 Design would do Renegade specific but I am finding in comparison there are little part options for Renegades to Wranglers like 1000 to 1. I just sold my Wrangler and went with a Renegade this time for a lot of reasons none having to do with it even hanging with a wrangler but the Renegade fits my lifestyle better at the moment. Do you have any suggestions on Renegade-specific parts companies? Thanks

      Well as far as phone mounts go, I use a RAM suction cup mount and I put it on the small front quarter window on the door, works perfectly. For renegade specific parts I would highly recommend Avid Essentials and Valkyrie Offroad.

    That’s hella great job mate. Just one question with Kenwood head unit. Can it make changes to the car system? E.g. lighting set up, auto lock. I am very much keen to change the audio system as the uConnect has limited amount of navigation map updates and lack of Apple Car Play feature but isn’t sure if I have to sacrifice all the car option changes. Thanks in advance!

    All that's important is that you like it, but IMO the best Renegade is a bit like the Suzuki Samurai, get the barebones 1.4T with manual transmission in 4x4 in order to be as light as possible, and get a OBD2 retune or piggy back chip to increase boost pressures so you can get about 190hp out of them. That gives the Renegade much needed pep, as otherwise the power to weight ratio is poor IMO.

    • @matthewmitchell8842

      I’ve got 200ish hp with cold air intake and chip runs but the turbo and manual definitely would be more fun

    Why is the snorkel air intake facing the rear of the jeep? Is that the way it was built? I have never seen ones that point to the rear, only front facing ones so the air induction is better...

    • @matthewmitchell8842
      @matthewmitchell8842  4 роки тому

      hellaacapella Well when off road or even in a rain storm stuff can get into it so I’d like to prevent that at all costs. It’s of course fine to run it facing front since that’s the normal way to do it, but I like that peace of mind and the fact that it sounds amazing like that. Gives it a deep throaty sound. I’ve had no issue with air flow into the engine as I’ve watched my mass air flow sensor with it both ways and it’s the same number.

    • @hellaacapella
      @hellaacapella 4 роки тому

    • @matthewmitchell8842
