A run of the Black Gap Rd. Really shows what this little Jeep can do. Quality is low edue to heavy video compression from my software.

Just took my '17 Trailhawk down a nasty dirt path leading to a river here outside of Whitehorse, Yukon. Wasn't a spectacular rated route or anything, but it had deep grooves and I purposefully ran out of them and across them and the Jeep ate them for breakfast. Looking forward to hitting some of the really challenging areas we have up here. Great vids on this channel. You should make more!
@@HollandOates That’s awesome!! I drive a Gladiator Mojave now, but I would definitely be making more videos if I still had it.
I just got a 2017 Renegade Trailhawk with all sorts of customization from previous owner: snorkel; winch; floodlights, roof rack. I removed the winch for mileage concerns, but am instantly regretting it. Of all the customizations, that one could literally be a lifesaver (I live in the Yukon up by Alaska!). So I think I'll reattach soon. LOVE this idea of putting the wheel on the roof rack! Gonna totally copy that. Thanks. Great vid! insta-sub
what rain guards/ window visors do you have? link?
@@Atalbot1994 I believe they were these [a.co/d/aIISVDU, got rid of the Jeep a couple of years ago so I can’t fully confirm unfortunately.
Hi Matthew, I'm a renegade owner from Germany. Which manufacturer makes the snorkel?
@@henningpieper4240 Hello! The company was called Avid Essentials, and they were here in Texas. However, after COVID, I believe they must have had some issues. I do not think they are still doing business anymore unfortunately.
sick man.. these are underrated vehicles
How many miles had you run on this renegade? Does this springs caused issue to shock absorber?
Before I sold it, I had put 50,000 miles on it (Bought it new). I had zero mechanical issues with it for my entire time owning it. Changing the suspension geometry will definitely wear out parts more quickly quickly though...
What engine is in it ? In Europe we only get the 1,3 (regular ) 2,0 diesel and i think 2,4 ( regular )
It was the 2.4L I4
In Italy we get the 1.0 3Cyl turbo, a 1.3 4cyl, a 1.6 4cyl diesel and a 2.0 4cyl diesel (best option for offroading imo)
Thing is def capable in offroad. No it doesnt have the flex, but ive seen them go almost anywhere wranglers and 4runners can go at 1/3 the price tag
Only thing id add to it is the angry bird grille
my 2016 doesnt have 17's
Definitely like this build. I love my Trailhawk and love how it performs on the trails. I know it's not a Wrangler and as a mechanic would never get a Wrangler because of the garbage motor in it. We've had 3 Wranglers in the shop that have now head gaskets. The 392 Wrangler is what is go for, but can't afford the price tag. Hopefully you'll get this thing on the trail with impressive videos. You can look at some of my videos. I go out and have fun, try out some trails ment for Wranglers and see how i do. Great video bro, keep it up.
I appreciate it Tony! Acutally we sold the Renegade a couple of years ago - after doing trails all around the US. My dad took delivery of a 24' 392 recently, and we have been loving it. I will check out some of your videos for sure.
Здравствуйте , где можно приобрести бампер силовой AVID и шноркель ( труба )AVID , будьте добры !!!
К сожалению, компания обанкротилась - я считаю, что ее убил COVID.
@@matthewmitchell8842 очень жаль
Would those modifications fit a 2023 jeep renegade ?
Not Phillips head, its base on an old army gas tank
Greta build but it's sounds like a popcorn fart. No offense. That being said I'll probably model mine after yours minus the weird fart sound
Yeah, I didn’t rev it very well in the video unfortunately. It sounds eh in the video, but it did sound better in person - I got rid of it a couple years ago but I’d definitely upload a better sound clip otherwise 😂
Awesome

You guys in America must be on dam good wages. in my 50s still couldn’t afford that lol nice job though
What made you buy a Renegade over a Wrangler?
At the time, cost was for sure a factor - but we also were curious to try out the platform considering how different it is. The renegade was sold two years ago in lieu of a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe
@@matthewmitchell8842 I’ll go back to check out the Wrangler.
Where did you get the snorkel?
From a company called Avid Essentials. I haven't heard much about them since covid - I'm not sure if they are still in business
Please let me know where I get the screen that you have installed. Is it also carplay?
crutchfield.com has great audio and screen options. The specific unit I had (now discontinued) did have CarPlay
@@matthewmitchell8842 Thanks!
Hey man! Not sure if you’re still reading this channel much, but I just got a stock renegade too. Already throwing light pods on, but I got the exact same roof rack, but would prefer not to put on an other light bar/brackets cuz they may interact with my sunroof. May I see how you attached that light bar in better detail? I’d be happy to provide my IG or something
Hey there! I still am replying to all new comments when I see them - unfortunately I don’t believe I have any super close up shots of the light bar mounting, but I just checked my Amazon history and found the mounts I used. My IG is “anvil392” if you’d like to check out some more pics of the car. I’ll drop the link to the mounts below Off-Road ATV UTV Light Bar Mounts... www.amazon.com/dp/B082XKHYXL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
What’s the link to get my order in nice set up yours I got myself a 2022
Nice Jeep!
Does the car float? Cause if it does not then what’s the point of having it. 🫃🏾 1:25
I just bought one myself they are very nice
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it
Beautiful the lights on the back stands for old military gas tanks
💯
Nice mods thanks for sharing I have a 2017 jeep renegade and been looking into what I can do to it so much potential
Thank you! There really is a ton of potential in these things.
Cade os videos
I think this is the closest thing to the Jimny you can buy in North Americq
dope renegade man, looks amazing
I appreciate it!
nice where can i buy that same bumper?
It is made by Avid Essentials, however I think they were knocked out in 2020 by Covid and never manufactured any more unfortunately.
I’m aiming to buying one asap
Very cool, question does the aftermarket stereo still work with the steering wheel radio controls?
Thanks! Yes, there is a module that attaches to the rear of the radio that is required to retain the controls though. I don’t recall what it was called, but you can spec a full stereo system on the Crutchfield website and it will show you which one is required to keep them.
@Matthew Mitchell good to know! Thanks for the response
@@AlienBmxican Absolutely! If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
I just bought a trailhawk renegade. Now I have so many ideas.
As a wrangler owner myself, I still have a lot of respect for this build. Very clean!
Thanks! I have a wrangler 4xe now but I still miss the Renegade sometimes
A Renegade will never be as good as a Wrangler off-road, but a Wrangler will never be as good as a Renegade on road. Many people shaming Renegades seem to forget just about every Jeep spends 90% of its time on the road.
After having both, I can attest to that - the only thing the renegade struggles with on road is a lack of power unfortunately. I bet the newer ones with the turbo 1.3 are better

Nice.
Where’d u find that bull bar??
It’s the Avid Essentials Wyoming bumper - Since Covid began they were hit very hard by the supply chain issues since they are a small business so I’m not sure if you can find a new one anymore, and they are rare to find used…
Your Jeep Renegade Deserthawk sounds like Porche 911 boxer.
